(MASON'S POV)
"Sweetheart, what do you mean? Do you know where Daddy is?"
Beau nodded solemnly. "Daddy is calling me. I can hear him in my head."
Tears flooded my eyes again. "You can hear him? How? How do you know how to do that?"
Beau gave a little shrug, like it wasn't a big deal. "I know." He smiled. "Daddy says I'm special. He says I have magic... like you, Papa."
I didn't know what to say. I didn't know what to think. All I knew was that my four-year-old son was claiming to hear Blue's voice in his head, and the desperate, aching part of me wanted so badly to believe him. He was an elder baby after all. He could be telling the truth.
"Do you know where Daddy is?" I asked, my voice shaking.
Beau nodded again. Then, without warning, he pressed his forehead against mine.
"Show him, Daddy," Beau whispered. "Show Papa where you are."
And the world exploded into light.
I was no longer in our bedroom.
