(BLUE'S POV)
And then Mason stirred.
It was barely a movement—a twitch of his fingers, a flutter of his eyelids—but I felt it. I felt the shift in his body, the spark of consciousness returning to his form.
"Mason?" I breathed, my voice barely audible. "Mason, can you hear me?"
His eyes fluttered open, and I lost myself in them.
Those beautiful brown eyes, filled with warmth and love and a light that rivaled the sun itself. They looked up at me, confused at first, then recognizing, then filling with relief.
"Blue?" His voice was hoarse, weak, but it was the most beautiful sound I'd ever heard. "Blue, you're okay. You're safe."
I crushed him to my chest, pulling him into my arms, holding him so tightly I was afraid I might break him. Beau pressed against both of us, his little arms wrapping around Mason's neck, his sobs turning into hiccups of relief.
"Papa! Papa, you're awake! You're awake!"
