Celestine pov
I knew the moment the doorbell rang that something important was about to happen.
The house had been quiet all evening. Too quiet. The kind of silence that settles after a storm but still carries the echo of thunder.
Mom glanced at papa before walking to the door.
When she opened it, my heart stopped.
Adrian stood there.
And behind him… his parents.
For a second, no one spoke.
The air between our families felt heavy, filled with all the accusations, anger, and broken trust from the past.
Mr.watson was the first to lower his gaze.
"We came to apologize," he said quietly.
My father didn't move. His expression was calm, but I could see the hurt in his eyes.
"An apology?" he repeated slowly. "After everything our family was accused of?"
Serina stepped forward, her voice trembling.
"We were wrong. Completely wrong. We believed lies… and we hurt people who never deserved it."
My chest tightened.
They finally knew the truth.
About Kian.
About the money.
About how my family had been blamed for something we never did.
Adrian stood silently behind them, his eyes searching the room until they found mine.
The guilt in them made my heart ache.
My father sighed deeply, rubbing his forehead.
"Do you understand what you did to our family?" he asked.
"Yes," Adrian's father said softly. "And that regret will stay with us forever."
The room fell silent again.
I could feel the tension pressing down on my chest.
For a long moment, no one spoke.
Then my mother finally said something.
"Hatred won't fix what happened."
My father looked at her, then at Adrian's parents.
Slowly, he nodded.
"We can't erase the past," he said. "But we can choose not to let it destroy the future."
Adrian's parents looked relieved, almost overwhelmed.
But my heart was still heavy.
Because one person was missing.
Jay.
And I knew my sister well enough to know… this wasn't something she could forgive so easily.
Adrian finally stepped closer to me, his voice quiet.
"Celestine… I'm sorry."
I looked at him, searching his face.
The pain there was real.
But trust doesn't rebuild in a day.
"It's going to take time," I told him softly.
He nodded without hesitation.
"I'll wait."
And for the first time in weeks… the tension between our families loosened just a little.
Not gone.
But healing had finally begun.
( Jay's POV)
I was sitting in my small Oslo apartment, my sketchbook open in front of me, when my phone buzzed.
Celestine.
I answered immediately.
"Hey," I said.
Her voice sounded hesitant. "Jay… something happened today."
I sat up a little straighter. "What is it?"
There was a small pause.
"Adrian's family came to the house," she said quietly.
My fingers froze around my pencil.
"And?"
"They apologized," she continued. "They finally know the truth about Kian. They admitted everything."
I stared at the window, watching the pale Norwegian sky.
"And Dad?" I asked.
"They forgave them."
For a moment, I didn't say anything.
Forgave them.
After everything.
After the accusations.
After the humiliation
.
After the pain they caused our family.
I slowly leaned back in my chair.
"That's… good," I said calmly.
Celestine hesitated. "Jay…"
I already knew what she was going to ask.
"But that doesn't change anything for me," I said quietly.
Silence filled the line.
"I'm glad the families made peace," I continued. "They deserve that."
I looked down at my sketchbook, at the building I had been designing.
"But Keifer and I are different."
Celestine didn't interrupt.
"I'm not ready to forgive him," I said firmly. "Not now."
And for the first time since everything happened, I realized something.
Forgiveness wasn't something anyone else could decide for me.
That choice was mine.
( Keifer - pov )
Adrian walked into my room without knocking.
I looked up from my laptop
.
"What's wrong?"
He sat down slowly.
"Our parents went to Jay's house today."
My heart skipped.
"And?"
"They apologized. About everything. About the accusations. About Kian."
I swallowed hard.
"And Jay's family?"
"They forgave them."
For a moment, hope flickered inside my chest.
Maybe…
Maybe things could start getting better.
Then Adrian spoke again.
"But Jay knows."
My chest tightened instantly.
"And?"
Adrian sighed.
"She said she's not ready to forgive you."
The words hit harder than I expected.
I leaned back in my chair, staring at the ceiling.
Somehow… I wasn't surprised.
Jay had always been strong.
When she loved, she loved deeply.
And when she was hurt…
She didn't pretend it didn't matter.
I rubbed my face slowly.
"I don't deserve her forgiveness yet," I muttered.
Adrian frowned. "What?"
"I hurt her," I said quietly. "Badly."
The room went silent.
"But I'll earn it," I continued.
Adrian watched me carefully.
"I don't care how long it takes," I said.
"I'm not giving up."
