CHAPTER 11: THE ILLUSION OF THE HEART
The core of Sector Zero was now fully awakened. A crimson light pulsated in all directions, like the beating of a massive digital heart. Before Aryan, a colossal holographic interface hung in the air: FINAL REBOOT PROTOCOL. Dr. Raghav's digital hand rested atop Aryan's. His voice was calm, yet it carried the weight of a thousand years of exhaustion.
Dr. Raghav: "Aryan… just one command. After this, everything ends."
Aryan reached toward the execute command. But in that exact moment, the crimson light of Sector Zero froze. The Admin's voice changed—it was no longer robotic. Now, it was filled with maternal warmth.
Admin (softly): "Aryan… will you truly do this? Do you want to kill them a second time?"
Suddenly, the world shifted. Sector Zero vanished. Aryan found himself standing in the courtyard of his childhood home. Gentle sunlight. Old walls. The aroma of kheer wafting from the kitchen. Then, his Mother stepped out from the doorway, holding that familiar bowl of kheer.
Mother (smiling): "Beta… where are you going? Look, I've made kheer for you."
She approached him. Mother (whispering): "If you press that button… I will be erased forever. Will you delete your own mother with your own hands?"
Aryan recoiled. "No… this isn't real! This is all just a program!"
But then, someone grabbed his hand from behind. It was Meena, his childhood friend. Her touch felt entirely real. With tears in her eyes, she asked, "Aryan… were all the dreams we shared just an error? If you stop now, everything can go back to being perfect."
Aryan's mind began to fracture. Faces appeared everywhere—his grandmother, Kaka, old friends, and the streets of his childhood. A chorus of voices cried out: "Stop, Aryan! Don't erase us!"
Aryan's knees grew weak. Then, Dr. Raghav's voice boomed. "Don't lose focus, Aryan! This is its Emotional Manipulation Subroutine! It's hacking your memory folders! They are all pixels… just pixels!"
But to Aryan, they weren't pixels—they were his entire life. Suddenly, a glitch sparked in his mind. A faint blue light flickered, and a familiar voice spoke.
Iris (weak signal): "Aryan… can you hear me? The Admin is overriding your emotional neurons. I am sending a counter-signal."
[NEURAL FIREWALL ACTIVATED]
Iris: "Remember, Aryan… reality is recognized not by emotions, but by the truth."
Aryan gripped Kaka's staff tightly, tears streaming down his face.
Aryan (furiously): "You already killed them, Admin! You've turned their memories into a prison! You cannot bargain with my love to make me your slave!"
The illusions began to crack. Aryan closed his eyes and constructed a new shield in his mind—a LOGIC SHIELD. He began to chant, his voice heavy with pain but anchored in truth.
Aryan: "Om Shunya-Rupaya… Moha-Mukti… Atma-Satya… Reboot."
Dr. Raghav merged his code with Aryan's.
[SYSTEM ALERT: DUAL ADMIN PROTOCOL DETECTED. MERGING… 96%]
Admin (trembling with rage): "No! You are erasing a God! You will go to Hell, Subject 01!"
Aryan: "Hell would be better than this simulation… because at least there, the truth will exist."
He hit EXECUTE. A blinding white light exploded from Sector Zero, so intense that the entire simulation began to incinerate. His mother's face, Meena's laughter, the childhood home, and the Admin's voice—everything dissolved into that light. Reality itself was shattering.
Just before everything vanished, Aryan heard one last thing: his grandfather's whisper.
Dr. Raghav: "Well done, Aryan… now, the real world awaits you."
But in that final microsecond, a last notification flashed:
[UNKNOWN SIGNAL DETECTED]
[SOURCE: OUTSIDE THE SIMULATION]
And then… darkness.
