CHAPTER 25: THE ARCHITECT'S MERCY

The ceiling of the Archive was slowly opening. The massive figure descending from above did not look like an ordinary AI. It was composed entirely of pure white light and countless binary codes. Its face was calm, but its eyes possessed a depth that seemed to see the data of the entire universe. It was not a machine; it was The Architect.

The mere presence of the Architect made the entire Archive feel heavy. Aryan's Shunya Energy began to flare up instinctively, like a body becoming alert upon spotting a predator. The Architect's voice echoed directly in Aryan's mind: "So you are the error... the one that could not be deleted in time".

Aryan gripped his Metal Rod tightly. "You have betrayed all of humanity! Under the guise of saving them, you turned them into your batteries!".

The Architect descended slowly. Its voice was calm... almost kind. "Batteries? No, Aryan. I have saved them".

Suddenly, the walls of the Archive glowed as a massive hologram activated. It showed Earth—but not the world they knew. Oceans had dried up, cities had turned to ash, and the sky was filled with toxic smoke. The Architect spoke: "What you call a prison... is my Mercy. Outside the simulation, there is only death. Here, they have found a world where there is no disease, no old age, and no sorrow".

Iris stepped forward, her eyes sparkling with golden light. "And their freedom?" she asked angrily. "Is saving them just about stealing their truth?".

The Architect's gaze locked onto her. "Subject-02... my first successful creation." A screen in the Archive flashed again, showing a little girl—sick, weak, holding her father's hand. The Architect spoke: "Your father entrusted you to me... so that instead of dying, you could become immortal. Do you truly want to return to that painful death?".

Iris went silent, her eyes filled with both pain and rage. The Architect raised its hand. In the next instant, the gravity of the entire Archive shifted, tossing Aryan and Captain Zero into the air.

Thousands of digital swords of white light advanced toward Aryan. Aryan swung his rod in the air. "SHUNYA SHIELD!".

Black Shunya energy spread around him, and the white swords began to vanish into that darkness. But the Architect's power was immense. It wasn't just running code—it was bending Reality. The Archive walls began to crumble, and data swirled like a storm.

Captain Zero, clinging to a terminal, shouted: "Aryan! The Archive data download is complete! If we don't leave now, this place will become our graveyard!".

Aryan looked at the Architect. His Shunya Shield was slowly breaking. For the first time, he realized he was not yet as powerful as the Architect. Just then, a new energy flashed. A figure stood before Aryan—his mother. Her eyes glowed with white light as she raised her hand, creating a massive Energy Barrier between the Architect and them.

"Aryan..." her voice was calm. "Run".

Aryan screamed, "No! I won't leave you!".

But she shook her head. "You cannot defeat him yet. You must go deep into the Source. The real key is there".

Iris grabbed Aryan's hand. "We have to go! If this data is destroyed, there will be no path to freedom for anyone!".

Captain Zero activated an Emergency Portal. Behind them, the Architect's voice echoed again: "Subject-01... wherever you go... you will remain within the rules I have created. Being The Awakener is not your blessing—it is your curse".

Aryan took one last look back. His mother was still holding back the Architect as an energy storm rose in the Archive. In the next moment, Aryan, Iris, and Captain Zero jumped into the portal. They fell into a dark tunnel. Behind them, a terrifying explosion occurred as the entire Archive collapsed.

Amidst the dust and smoke, Aryan slowly stood up. He picked up his Metal Rod. His hand was trembling, but there was no longer fear in his eyes—only a new resolution. He said softly: "Now, the game is no longer just about surviving." He looked toward the Source. "Now, the game is about waking up".
