ROSE POV
I continued peeling the potatoes while Daniel relaxed in the living room, tuning in to his favorite TV show. After about an hour, the food was ready. I had cooked the potatoes in the same pot, took a little portion (the part I intended to serve him) and placed it in another pot. In it, I put a lot of pepper, and added some of the water I left from the one I filtered out.
I couldn't help but laugh evilly as I mixed it together for him, adding as much ingredient as needed to hide any bad taste that might be there. Don't worry, I didn't taste it myself. But having helped my mum a lot in cooking, I do have a scope of how a food should taste like when a particular amount of certain ingredients is added to it.
I dished out my food on a plate, and dished his share on a separate plate and called him to come and take his.
"You are the woman here, your duty is to serve the man. Do I need to teach you everything?" He responded.
I didn't reply. My trap had been set. He just made it easier for me. At least, he won't see my food and try to exchange it with his, letting my own trap backfire at me.
I placed his food on a tray like a "good woman", and walked over to the dining room, where I dropped it on the dining table. I went to the kitchen to get the orange juice and a glass cup, and place it near the tray.
I called out to him, telling him to hurry up before his food got cold. His pride would be the beginning of his downfall. Poor man that has pride. Indeed, Benegota is filled with different kinds of animals in human skin.
He walked over to the dining, smiling like one who had won a lottery. I believe he thinks he has won, probably feeling like the alpha male. Well, he is in for a big surprise.
"See as you are walking as though you're pregnant, and I thought men were always quick on their feet." I scoffed at him. "Oh, I forgot, you ain't a man at all."
"Says the woman who obeyed my command and served me food. You are just a desperate servant who doesn't know her place. Know this and know peace." He replied, taking a seat at the dining.
I didn't reply. I won't bother myself to argue with him. I poured out a small volume of the orange juice into the glass cup. He must be feeling on top of the world right now. He probably thinks he has managed to tame me.
As if!
He took a bite and his facial expression changed immediately. I looked at him with concern and asked if anything was the matter. He shook his head, saying that everything was okay. I smiled knowing inwardly what he was passing through, but I knew his pride won't let him stop eating.
He took another bite and immediately reached for the orange juice. Within seconds, he had gulped down the entire liquid in the cup, and as a "good woman" as I was, I poured out more into the cup.
This is going to be fun.
DANIEL POV
I was happy that I was finally able to put Rose in her place and show her who the boss really is. She is pathetic. I can't believe she actually agreed to cook for me, probably tired of arguing. She forgot I came from the ghetto. We argue for a living.
I sat down on the chair there, and Rose poured in a small volume of the orange juice into the cup. I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face. I was finally feeling like a king. This is how it was always meant to be.
If she continues like this, we might just get off just fine.
The porridge potato looks delicious. I bet it's just as good as the beans she made last night. I took a spoonful into my mouth, and a tear nearly rolled down my eyes.

What kind of wicked pepper is in here?
I paused for a while, trying to cool the peppery feeling that dwelt in my mouth. Rose looked at me, asking if I was alright. I refused to show her that I was in pain, and took another spoon. I nearly screamed. It doubled. I instantly grabbed the orange juice next to me, and gulped it all down in a matter of seconds. Rose poured in another glass so comfortably. She refused to leave my side. I should have stopped eating but pride won't let me.
I kept taking more and more spoons, each adding more to the peppery tingling in my mouth. Eventually, I couldn't feel my tongue anymore. But I couldn't bring myself to show any reaction in front of Rose. I'm sure she is waiting for me to break down. I took another bite, and my entire system shut down. I screamed at the top of my voice, and ran into the kitchen to wash my tongue.
I could hear muffled laughs from Rose, like she was trying hard not to laugh. She has a hand in this. She did something to my food, I just don't know what. I kept rinsing my tongue with water, but it didn't reverse the tingling effect, it actually grew worse. I rushed to the fridge and grabbed a can of milk. I heard milk reduces the effect of pepper, but this time around, it was like I was adding more petrol to the fire.
Eventually, the peppery effect hit my head, and I was scared I would run mad any second. My vision became blurry after a while. I started dancing to keep my eyes open, but the evil witch named Rose stood by the door, laughing to her heart content.
How heartless can a human being be? The pains I was going through didn't mean anything to her. After a few minutes, I began to slowly get control of my tongue. By then, Rose was already on the floor, laughing like one who was possessed by an evil spirit. I think she's actually possessed.
Just when I thought that the worst was over, my stomach began to grumble, and I felt the urge to defecate. I rushed to the bathroom that was in my room, and sat on the toilet, letting out all that was in my intestines. My butt began to heat up due to the pepper, and I didn't know when I started sweating profusely.
I was just praying I would survive this, and if I did, Rose should run away.
After a while, it felt as though someone was roasting my butt with fire, and I had to run into my room and face my butt towards the standing fan. Tears were literally dropping from my eyes. Oh I have suffered!
What did I do to deserve this?
That Rose girl is truly heartless.
"What's smelling here? Daniel, I hope you haven't messed yourself up in your room?" She said in-between laughs.
"Rose, just run away from this house. Don't look back. In fact, disappear if possible. By the time I recover from this, you will regret all your actions." I said in-between sobs.
"Awwn, are you crying? I thought you were the alpha male? What happened? Are you suddenly rethinking your life choices?" She replied, laughing loudly.
"Just run away Rose, because by the time I take hold of you, no one would be able to save you!" I yelled at her.
"You still have the guts to talk. It seems you haven't learnt your lesson. This is just round one. Next time, you will learn to acknowledge and respect the power of a woman." She responded, her laughter decreasing slowly.
I got up and went to finish up in the toilet. She has indeed dealt with me today. 2:0. She would regret her life choices, and I'd make sure of that.
