Chapter 86 - Meanwhile: Jon Smit

Jon Smit stared out of the announcer's box at the two fighters, Celma and Relly.

He began to announce the fight, calling out to ask if the two girls were ready to begin. After receiving confirmation, he let the fight begin.

"FIGHT!"

Jon Smit watched intently, giving callouts over the battle to inform the spectators of the incredible nature of the battle.

Every attack was described in his booming voice, every dodge, every block- all of the battle was described by him.

Jon Smit watched as myriads of fighters came and went, from micy to later Extramicy; all of the fights he announced and reacted to.

All while in a sky box, with his loving partner Arias.

During the breaks of the battles, Jon Smit was always lost in thought.

Oh my god, this is sooo cool! I should've done this so long ago! I mean, it was so simple to put together!

Jon Smit, you are a true genius; I mean, who else would've been able to do something of this size? To think hundreds of the world's strongest hunters all fighting against one another! It's just like a manga.

And the powers, I mean, that guy with the fist of steel, and the girl with the flaming arm, not to mention Ember and that new kid, Lucian.

OHHH I have to give him a super sick nickname.... Maybe the white rush, no, that's not good, maybe, timekiller... Speed demon... Devil of time.... OHHH I've got it: The Man beyond time.

Yeah, that's perfect, although I'm not really sure what his Powers really are, so... that could be a terrible name.

Jon Smit was lost in thought when Arias walked over and tapped him on the shoulder.

Turning around, he looked at her tablet.

'The next battle is Slayer Selen, the Ice Saint, and Elite Cleaner Ezekiel, the Angel of Light'

Jon Smit smiled and nodded.

"Thank you, Arias. If I remember correctly, you are going to be fighting soon as well. How are your preparations coming along?"

Arias nodded, then typed on her tablet.

After a moment, she turned it around and showed him what she wrote.

'Yes, and my preparations are coming along very well; the part of me that will be fighting is getting dressed now, while another part of me is researching all that is known about him. Sadly, we know very little outside of what he personally told us.

I did want to ask, Jon, will you be fighting? I know you're a big fan of these sorts of things; I mean, I've seen you get so excited about those books you read.'

Jon Smit grimaced slightly, then spoke.

"I would've loved to fight, but I'm too powerful to face any of these guys; I mean, it would be less of a fight and more of a bloodbath."

Jon Smit let out a laugh.

I would've really enjoyed fighting Ember, but I'm too powerful and most likely would've killed him in combat too. It would've been soooo much fun though!

Jon Smit put on a smile as he turned away from Arias, then he cleared his throat and announced the next battle.

He was a few moments too late, and the two fighters were already in the arena.

So he had to do the announcement with the fighters already ready, getting the two confirmations he announced the start of the battle.

"FIGHT!!"

Jon Smit announced the fight in its entirety.

This battle was the most interesting by far, with the best powers and the best use of them.

Jon Smit was impressed by Selen's use of moonpoint and her ice.

As the fight rounded to a close, Jon Smit had a question he wanted to ask his loving wife, Arias.

As Selen cut the angel in half and Jon Smit announced the victor, he turned to Arias and asked.

"Who would you say is the strongest, disregarding you and me, of course?"

Arias thought for a split second before writing somthing down and turning it around to show him.

'Singulus, of course, however, disregarding me, you, and him, I'd say probably Ember or Liun.'

"Oh, yes its a shame that Liun cant participate in this tournemant, i mean his ablity is really something else. But I think someone else is the strongest."

Arias tilted her head in confusion.

"Yes, I believe that newbie Solaris may be the strongest. That's the main reason I've decided to match him up with you, so when you fight him, I'd like you to get a good lay of his abilities before you beat him. Can you do that for me?"

Arias smiled brightly, then energetically shook her head.

Jon Smit returned the smile.

"Thank you, dear, that makes me oh so excited to see."

With this exchange, the two continued to announce the battles, one after another, before finally the battle they had been waiting for was soon to begin.

Jon Smit watched as Solaris entered the arena, calling forth his marks, in a way that made Jon Smit shiver with anticipation.

That kid really is just an aura farmer, isn't he? I mean, if I wasn't here, then he'd definitely be the protagonist of this story.

Jon Smit watched as a reflection of his wife walked into the arena.

Give me a good show, beautiful.

"FIGHT!!"

Jon Smit watched the battle with pure excitement as he watched His wife effortlessly deal with Solaris.

When he wasn't actively commenting he was getting the firsthand interview with the real Arias that was standing right behind him.

Jon Smit had a smile playing on his lips for the longest time. When Solaris set up a trap with the shards, Jon Smit cheered. When he was cut by Arias's reflected ability, he pumped his fist in the air, and when Solaris charged Arias with the axe made of shadows, Jon Smit was on the edge of his seat.

Every announcement he made was filled with excitement and jubilation.

That was until Solaris made an umbrella. The excitement turned to confusion and disappointment.

What the hell is this? That's not very cool; that's just stupid.

Jon Smith thought while sitting on the edge of his seat with a pair of glasses on, the lenses having cartoon eyes.

Some people just don't know the essence of looking cool in a battle... Well, at least his mantle looks super cool.

And so practical.

As Jon Smit was thinking this, Solaris leapt into the air, unnoticed by anyone, carried by the shards.

Jon Smit opened his mouth to speak, but in the end he was rendered speechless.

He stood up from his seat and removed his glasses.

Down in the arena, he watched as a reflection of his wife was beaten to an inch of her life.

Jon Smit stood at the window, staring down as her arm was torn from her socket, then beaten and beaten some more.

Turning to the side, Jon Smit saw Arias standing next to him, her face looking emotionless, but her eyes gave away a look of resentment.

"Can't you just recall her?"

Arias flipped her tablet around after writing on it.

'No, it would give away the fact that it's not the real me down there, which, for some reason, I feel would be very bad to do with this boy.'

The two stood at the window watching as Solaris reeled his head back into a laugh.

Jon Smit felt his body tremble slightly, his teeth gritting, as he felt a rage boiling inside of him.

Yet this rage subsided when he felt someone's hand slide into his clenched fist and begin to hold it.

It was a small and delicate hand, the hand he knew almost as well as his own. The hand of his wife.

Looking over, she smiled, in an attempt to calm him.

Jon Smit took a breath at the sight of his beautiful wife, and then he felt a calming rush wash over him.

Using his aura to push away the feeling of rage, Jon Smit felt much better.

He let out a sigh of relief as he watched Ember knock Solaris into the wall of the arena.

Upon seeing Sami heal the broken reflection, Jon Smit returned to his normal energetic self.

"Can you call that one up here once the healing is done, and whenever that boy is feeling like himself again, I'd like to have a meal and a conversation with him."

Arias continued smiling and nodded.

As the two watched Solaris get carried away and the reflection walked into the dark corridor, Jon Smit returned to his large chair and sat down.

Arias sat next to him, their hands never unlinking.

After a moment, Jon Smit declared a temporary pause in the tournament, stating that Assassin Ania, the bloody queen, and Executive Cleaner Alcazar, the windy tribunal, were up next to fight after the break.

Jon Smit remained in his seat, with Arias and her reflection merging.

This way, that one at least doesn't have to continue in pain.

After a short while, Jon Smit stood up and looked down at the arena.

He had let go of Arias's hand, causing her to type something down.

'What's wrong?'

Jon Smit remained silent for a moment, then grimaced and spoke.

"Something is coming."

Just then, the wall on the opposite side of the arena exploded outwards in a rain of stone shrapnel.

A corpse landed on the ground, and a Creature walked out from the smoke.

Jon Smit knew instantly what the situation was.

He raised a hand, tapping the glass with the knuckle of his index finger; the glass parted before him, and he took a step forward before plummeting down to the ground.

His body shot towards the ground, covered in his aura.

Upon the impact with the ground, the area around him caved in.

Jon Smit wasted no time in expanding his aura to create a wall, pushing back those who were already standing ready to fight.

Using his aura, he circled the air around him, where the dust and shrapnel shot up and then dispersed it.

Jumping out of the crater, he looked at the being that was once one of his best cleaners with a look of regret.

"ALL OF YOU, RELAX. ALLOW ME TO HANDLE THIS"

Jon Smit popped his knuckles and rolled his shoulders, as he saw in all the comics and manga he read.

Then he dashed forward.

He had already restrained the demon with his aura, so all he had to do now was end the fight in one punch.

However, that is not what happened.
