Rahim and Karim stood inside the dark underground hall. The cold air moved slowly around them.
In front of them stood the strange man in the long cloak.
His sharp eyes were fixed on the glowing crystal.
For a few moments, nobody spoke.
Then Karim whispered, "Rahim… I don't trust him."
Rahim nodded slightly.
"Me neither."
The man slowly stepped forward.
"You should not have come here," he said in a calm voice.
Rahim held the crystal tightly.
"We did not come to cause trouble," he said.
The man looked at the crystal again.
"That crystal is connected to this place," he replied.
Karim asked, "Who are you?"
The man stayed silent for a moment.
Then he answered,
"I am Farid. The keeper of the desert ruins."
Karim looked confused.
"Keeper?"
Farid nodded.
"My family has protected this place for generations."
Rahim said, "Then you know about the crystal?"
Farid looked serious.
"Yes. Long ago, the ancient guardians created more than one hidden place."
Karim's eyes widened.
"You mean… there are more secret cities?"
Farid nodded slowly.
"Yes. And each place protects a different secret."
Rahim and Karim looked at each other.
The mystery was becoming bigger again.
Farid turned and started walking deeper into the hall.
"Follow me," he said.
Karim whispered, "Should we trust him?"
Rahim replied quietly,
"We don't have another choice right now."
They followed Farid through the underground hall.
Blue torches burned softly on the walls.
Ancient symbols were carved everywhere.
Karim said, "This place feels older than the hidden city."
Farid replied,
"This place existed long before the mountains."
After walking for some time, they reached a large stone door.
In the middle of the door, there was a strange symbol shaped like the sun.
Farid stopped.
"This is the Gate of Trials," he said.
Karim looked nervous.
"Trials?"
Farid nodded.
"Only those who pass the trials can learn the secret of the desert."
Rahim asked, "What kind of trials?"
Farid looked at him carefully.
"Courage. Wisdom. And trust."
Karim sighed softly.
"That does not sound easy."
Farid placed his hand on the stone door.
Slowly, the door began to open.
A warm golden light came from inside.
Rahim and Karim looked amazed.
Farid said,
"Once you enter, there is no turning back until the challenge ends."
Karim looked at Rahim.
"Are we really doing this?"
Rahim smiled slightly.
"We came this far. We cannot stop now."
Karim nodded.
"You're right."
The three of them stepped inside.
The room was huge.
The walls were glowing with golden light.
In the center, there was a long bridge made of stone.
Below the bridge was complete darkness.
Karim looked down and quickly stepped back.
"I don't want to fall there."
Farid said seriously,
"The bridge tests fear."
Rahim looked ahead.
At the end of the bridge, there was another door.
Farid said,
"To move forward, you must cross the bridge."
Karim asked, "What is the challenge?"
Farid replied,
"The bridge reacts to fear. If your mind loses control, the bridge will break."
Karim swallowed nervously.
"That's bad."
Rahim took a deep breath.
"We stay calm. Together."
Farid nodded.
"That is the correct answer."
Rahim stepped onto the bridge first.
Karim followed carefully.
At first, everything was normal.
But after a few steps, strange whispers filled the air.
Karim stopped.
"Did you hear that?"
The whispers became louder.
"You will fail…"
"You should go back…"
Karim looked scared.
"Rahim…"
Rahim said firmly,
"Don't listen to them. Keep moving."
The crystal started glowing softly.
Its blue light pushed away the whispers.
Karim took a deep breath.
"Okay… I can do this."
They continued walking.
Suddenly, the bridge shook slightly.
Cracks appeared under Karim's feet.
Karim panicked.
"Rahim!"
Rahim quickly grabbed his hand.
"Stay calm!"
The crystal glowed brighter.
Slowly, the cracks disappeared.
Farid watched them silently.
A small smile appeared on his face.
After a few tense moments, Rahim and Karim finally reached the other side.
Karim sat down immediately.
"That was terrifying," he said.
Rahim laughed softly.
"But we passed."
Farid walked toward them.
"You did well," he said.
Karim looked surprised.
"So… the first trial is over?"
Farid nodded.
"Yes. But the next one will be harder."
Suddenly, the second door slowly opened by itself.
Cold wind came from inside.
The lights in the room became dim.
Farid looked serious again.
"The real challenge begins now."
Rahim tightened his grip on the crystal.
Karim stood beside him.
Neither of them was ready to give up.
The mystery of the desert was slowly opening.
And somewhere deep below the ruins—
Something ancient was waiting for them .
