Chapter 3 - The Devil’s Deal

Jeigan looked at Suire calmly.

"My real goal…" he said,

"…is to make a personal deal with someone truly powerful."

For a moment—

Silence.

Then—

Suire burst out laughing.

"What?!" she said between laughs. "You're joking, right?"

She wiped a tear from her eye.

"You're telling me… you haven't even made a proper deal yet?"

Jeigan scratched the back of his head awkwardly.

"No… not really. I don't know how to make proper deals yet."

"I can only do small ones."

Suire raised an eyebrow.

"Small deals?"

"What kind of small deals?"

Jeigan answered honestly—

"I can make deals with small creatures."

"Like dogs… cats… donkeys… spiders… pigs…"

"…and other small animals."

Suire froze.

Then—

"Hahahaha!"

She exploded with laughter.

"Are you serious?!"

She leaned on the desk, laughing uncontrollably.

"When I was a kid… even I didn't make deals like that!"

She turned toward the other girls.

"Girls, why don't one of you make a deal with him?"

"Maybe he'll finally become powerful!"

The group burst into laughter.

"Hahaha!"

"Look at him!"

Jeigan lowered his head quietly.

Suddenly—

SLAM!

Jinha hit the desk.

"Shut up. All of you."

The laughter stopped instantly.

She looked at Jeigan.

"I'm really sorry about them…"

"Please don't feel bad."

Jeigan shook his head.

"No… it's fine."

He forced a small smile.

"I'm already used to people laughing at me."

"And you don't need to apologize for them."

Suire crossed her arms again.

Still smiling mockingly.

"So you can't even make a proper deal…"

"And you're dreaming about making one with someone powerful?"

"What a joke."

One of the girls laughed.

"Hey Suire, don't bully him too much."

"What if he actually becomes strong one day?"

Another girl added sarcastically—

"Yeah… what if he makes a deal with a devil?"

"Then he might destroy you!"

The group laughed again.

Suire pretended to tremble.

"Oh no… I'm so scared!"

"Please don't hurt me!"

Jeigan frowned slightly.

"Wait… what do you mean?"

"What's a deal with a devil?"

Suire looked at him like he said something stupid.

"You don't even know about devil deals?"

She rolled her eyes.

"Well… that makes sense. You're new."

Jeigan leaned forward slightly.

"Please… can you explain it?"

Suire waved her hand dismissively.

"I don't have time to explain things like that."

"And honestly… there's no point."

Before she could continue—

Jinha stepped in.

"Enough."

Her voice was cold.

"You girls should leave now."

Then she turned to Jeigan.

"Don't worry. I'll explain everything to you later."

Suire stood up.

"Sure, sure."

She looked at Jeigan again.

A teasing smile.

"After you understand it… maybe you can try making a deal with a devil."

"Good luck."

She waved dramatically.

"Bye~"

The girls walked away.

Still laughing.

Jinha clenched her fists.

"That stupid girl…"

"She really makes me angry!"

Jeigan raised his hands slightly.

"Hey… calm down."

"You're getting too angry."

Jinha sighed.

Still irritated.

"I swear… one day I'm going to punch her."

Jeigan tilted his head.

"So… is making a deal with a devil really that bad?"

Jinha's expression changed.

Serious.

"Bad?"

"It's far worse than bad."

She lowered her voice.

"Making a deal with a devil is extremely dangerous."

"You could lose your life."

Jeigan's eyes widened.

"Really…?"

Jinha nodded slowly.

"You won't understand everything right now."

"I'll explain it properly later."

Then—

She looked toward the stage.

"Anyway… the ceremony is about to start."

At that moment—

Footsteps echoed.

The principal walked onto the stage.

He picked up the microphone.

"Good morning, students."

The entire hall responded together—

"Good morning, sir!"
