Simon was leading 5100 soldiers with Ismail and the Shah's notorious commander-Ali Quli khan.It took them approximately 1 month to reach Gori(City in Eastern Georgia).When they arrived to their destination,it was night.They were in the forest.
-"Now is the perfect moment to act."-Simon thought for himself and got off the horse.
King Simon approached Ali Quli Khan and Ismail:
-It is night.As you can see,our troops are exhausted from so much riding.All of us need to take a break. Don't you agree?
-Indeed.Let's rest.Every single one of us has blanket on which we should lie down and we have tents as well.-Said Ismail.
-Very well.I'm going to sleep beside my people,will you let me?
-Of course,Simon!Feel free to sleep close to your comrades.Tomorrow will be the great day!We will take Gori over together!-Said Ali Quli Khan.
Simon wished to both of them good night and went towards his 100 compatriots.When the king came,everyone looked around.There was nobody around them.Simon sat down on the grass inside the circle that these former prisoners created.He applied to them:
-My lions!Please,listen to me carefully!Today,as we discussed in Tavriz(Capital of the Safavid Persia),we have to slay 4500 men.Right now,they are about to go to bed.We must behead them while they sleep.Do you understand?
-Everything is clear,our king!But,don't we need scouts for this mission?How can we be sure that they are asleep from faraway?-Said one of the former prisoners.
-Your words make sense,my friend!
-How many scouts are essential?
-Just 2 will suffice.You will be one of these scouts.I order you as your king!
-I am obeying your order,your majesty!Who will be another one?
-Whoever you trust the most.
-As you wish,my king!
The man chose his younger brother.Then,they bowed their heads to Simon and went towards the tents of Persians.They didn't walk for a long time,when they saw the enemy's camp.They immediately hid themselves behind a big tree.It was cold and Persians were sitting around the fire.This fire was not going to last for a long time and the scouts decided to wait untill they would sleep.Finally,Persians went to bed inside their tents.The two scouts headed towards Simon at once.After learning of the news,Simon ordered to all of them to get ready for the attack.
