Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: The Outcast Settlement

The battlefield had finally gone silent.

The wind blew across the wasteland, carrying the smell of blood and dust.

Bodies from the Blood Fang Gang lay scattered across the cracked ground.

In the center of it all stood Rai.

Calm.

Unshaken.

Behind him, the outcast demons slowly stood up from their kneeling positions.

They still couldn't believe what they had just witnessed.

One demon… defeating an entire gang.

Grik stepped forward first.

His large demon body was still trembling slightly.

"Those demons… they controlled this part of the wasteland for years."

He looked at the bodies.

"And you wiped them out in minutes."

Rai said nothing.

Instead, he turned his eyes toward the nearby cave.

The same cave where the outcasts had been hiding.

"Is that where you live?"

Ruun nodded.

"It's the only place we had."

They began walking back toward it.

The cave entrance was narrow and partially hidden behind broken rock formations.

Inside, the air was damp and dark.

A few small torches burned weakly along the stone walls.

Dozens of outcast demons lived inside.

Some were injured.

Some were starving.

Others looked exhausted from years of hiding.

When they saw Rai enter, whispers immediately spread through the cave.

"That's the one who killed Blood Fang…"

"Is he really human?"

"Why would a human help us…?"

Rai observed everything silently.

The situation was worse than he expected.

These demons weren't warriors anymore.

They were survivors.

Grik spoke quietly.

"We've been hiding here for a long time."

"Any demon without a clan or territory becomes prey in the wasteland."

"No one protects us."

Ruun added,

"Strong demon clans take everything. Food. Shelter. Even slaves."

Rai looked around the cave again.

Then he spoke.

"You won't hide anymore."

The cave fell silent.

Everyone stared at him.

Rai stepped forward.

"This place…"

He pointed toward the cave entrance.

"…is now a settlement."

The demons blinked in confusion.

"A… settlement?"

Rai nodded.

"You'll live above ground."

"You'll build shelter."

"You'll gather resources."

Grik frowned slightly.

"That's impossible."

"If other demon gangs find us, they'll wipe us out."

Rai looked directly at him.

"They won't."

His voice was calm.

But absolute.

"Anyone who attacks this territory…"

"…will face me."

Silence filled the cave again.

The outcasts looked at each other.

Hope.

Something they hadn't felt in years.

One small demon slowly stepped forward.

"Then… does that mean…"

"…we belong somewhere?"

Rai answered simply.

"Yes."

The words echoed through the cave.

A few demons lowered their heads.

Some clenched their fists.

Others wiped tears from their eyes.

Grik suddenly knelt again.

This time much more firmly.

"Then allow us to serve you."

One by one, the others followed.

Soon dozens of outcast demons knelt before Rai.

"For the protection you gave us…"

"…we pledge loyalty."

At that moment—

The system appeared again.

Rai looked at the information.

Then he looked at the kneeling demons.

"If this place is going to survive…"

"…it needs to grow stronger."

Grik raised his head.

"Just give the orders."

Rai turned toward the cave entrance.

"The first thing we build…"

"…is a wall."

Outside, the wasteland wind howled across the land.

But for the first time—

This place was no longer just a hiding spot.

It had become a territory.

And the name of its ruler was beginning to spread across the Demon Realm.
