Chapter 18
MY NEW MASTER
Roman snapped his eyes open and jerked up.....as usual, on the soft bed.
Wow, this bed is really soft.
He laid back down on the bed, letting it's softness enveloped him.
I haven't lay on a bed in forever.
Wait....
He snapped his eyes opened.
"I'm on a bed?"
It finally dawned on him and he looked around him, scanning the environment.
He was in a cozy and comfortable room with beddings, slightly furniture, a large mirror and a wardrobe.
The room was dimly lit with multiple beast crystals of different colors,Impaled in the ceiling.
I could absorb one...nope... scratch that thought..
He looked towards another compartment which he guessed was the bathroom.
The room was not big but it wasn't small either, it was perfect.
"Where are the windows?
Indeed the room was beautiful, but there was no window anywhere.
The door suddenly opened up and boy stepped in.
"Finally, you're awake. I thought you were going to sleep forever "
Roman turned to see a tall but slim boy with light skin. He had long purple hair and purple eyes and a cold look on his pretty.... feminine face .
Huh?
If it wasn't for his voice, Roman would have taken him for a girl at first glance.
He held back a laugh.
"What are you smiling at kid?"
The boy said coldly.
"Kid?, you look just a bit older than me "
Roman stood from the bed.
"Go take a bath and change into something decent, you smell like shit "
The boy opened the door to step out.
"Meet us downstairs"
He left.
Roman wonder what was going on, really.
He remembered scaling the mountain, fighting a beast...and get stuck by lightning.
He had fell off, but something prompted him to hold on, and he did.
He stabbed his sword into the mountain before he could fall any further and crawled up to the top.
Then waking up on a soft bed.
"Oh well, that guy...girl, may have the answers I need"
He walked to the bathroom.
Few moments later, Roman stepped out of the room , cleaned and fresh and clad in a new loose shirt and leather pants with boots.
His once rough standing hair were now clean and smoothed down, almost touching his shoulders. Some strands covered his eyes, as if it had grew a little bit longer.
"That shampoo was something else"
He looked like the son from a noble background.
He was cute.
Roman looked around him then turned left to where the stairs were.
He looked below, the stairs stretched downwards seemingly without end.
His eyes widen as it dawned on him
"I'm inside the mountain "
Looking downwards, he channel energy into his legs, held the rails and jumped down.
He kept falling. As he did his eyes caught sight of multiple door and compartment on the smooth wall, which was illuminated around by beast crystals.
"How many beast were killed to create this place"
Finally, he reached ground floor then caught one of the rails to catch him from falling, his legs few seconds from hitting the ground.
He let go of the rails and jumped down.
Looking around him, he saw the strange boy..girl again, leaning against the wall.
The boy scanned Roman and nodded.
"Took you long enough, I hate dirt"
He nodded for Roman to follow.
They walked quietly along the hallway until they reached a door.
Opening the door, they stepped in.
Roman looked around the room, it was a dinning room, well decorated with beast hides and crystals, and a large table in the middle, filled with dishes and delicious looking delicacies that were foreign to Roman.
On still at the far end of the table, there was man, and he was smiling.
"Hello Roman"
The man spoke
"Come on, make yourself comfortable, you didn't climb my mountain for no reason after all"
Roman's eyes widen.
The strange boy had already taken a sit close to the man , and had started eating.
Roman stared at them, then walked towards the table and sat down.
He looked at the food, shrugged, then started wolfing down anything his hands could grab.
The boy stared at him with brows raised then shooked his head.
"My oh my , slow down would you?"
The man laughed.
"Sorry.....
His mouth was full
"I haven't eaten anything decent in the past week. Just surviving on beast meat "
"Yeah you did well. I watched every step of the way"
The man said
"Wait you were following me?!"
Roman eyes popped.
"Yeah, and I was impressed. You have your father's tenebrous spirit "
Roman paused.
"You knew my father?
"Of course, we train and fought together back in the day. You look very much like him when he was your age"
The strange smiling man said.
Roman finally noticed the man's features.
He was dark and muscularly built. His chest wasn't like anything he had seen, bulky with muscles mass. He had purple long hair and eyes and beards. He had that dark handsome look.
Come to think of it, the strange feminine body share some similarities with the man.
They are both strange.
"My oh my... I haven't even introduced myself yet have I?
He cleared his throat.
"You can call me Derrick and this is my son Lunar"
He signaled to the pretty boy who ate his food in silence.
"Lunar... Isn't that a girl's name. Well he does look like a girl "
"Hey!!"
Lunar snapped.
Derrick laughed
"Well he does take after his mother "
Lunar rolled his eyes and continued eating.
"Anyway. Your mom told me to train"
Derrick said.
"My mom?"
"Of course, Reyna and I go way back. Your father, Reyna and I used to be in the same squad before your father created the Tiger clan "
Roman interest was suddenly stirred.
"The Tiger clan?"
Derrick looked at him for a while then sighed.
"So Reyna didn't tell you anything huh?"
"My mom only taught me basic martial arts and energy circulation. Heck I didn't even know she had a spirit beast until about a week ago!"
Roman breathed out.
Derrick remained quiet for a while then spoke
"Reyna always have her reasons for doing things. And if she chose to keep the past from you, then she must have a reason "
Roman stared at him.
"You guys really had a long history didn't you?"
"I can't tell you some stories if you want, and more about your father "
Roman thought for a while then shook his head.
"No it's okay. Mom promised to tell me when I get stronger, that's the main reason I came here "
Derrick smiled
"I like you kid. Congratulations, I'm your new master "
"I'll make sure to do my best "
Derrick looked at Lunar
"Hey son, you got a new partner in training"
Lunar scoffed
"Partner? I'll take the kid as my junior "
"Again, your look a little older than me, girl"
Roman rolled his eyes.
Lunar shot him a dark glare.
"I think I need to welcome you properly to the devil's mountain "
His eyes glowed purple.
"I got strucked by lightning, seems like a proper welcome to me"
Roman's eyes glowed red.
"This should be fun "
Derrick grinned....
