Chapter 29 - Chapter 29. ORIENTATION

Chapter 29. ORIENTATION.

The next day, the first years had gathered in a massive hall in the castle.

They were twenty two of them in numbers all pumped up and ready for the first day of class.

Some stood in their various groups while some stood alone.

Roman, Lunar, Sylver and Sarah stood at one spot enveloped in a conversation.

Fury stood on Roman's shoulder enjoying and munching down a cheese.

Soon, the cheese disappeared, already in its stomach.

It felt confused for a while as if searching for the cheese.

Fury squeaked the jumped off Roman's shoulder, landing on Lunar's.

It squealed, tapping on Lunar's head with its tiny paws.

Lunar tapped on his storage ring bringing out another piece and passed it to the squirrel. It squeaked gladly accepting the offer.

"At least you're not a man eating monster"

Lunar said causing Roman and Sylver to laugh.

At another side of the hall, Bryon, Lan, Billy and Carl stood, observing everybody in the hall.

Lucky of them, the four boys ended up being roommates.

Lan's eyes were on Sylver.

He deeply contemplated on weather to approach her, or not.

"She's been smiling for sometime now, maybe she won't snap at me if I say hi"

He mumbled.

"Go talk to her if you wanna dude, quite being a baby"

Carl suddenly said.

Lan scoffed.

"Easier said than done, you don't know Sylver like we do. That girl is like a walking time bomb if she gets pissed. Just ask Billy"

He pointed at Billy.

Billy glared at him.

Bryon smiled.

"Just let her be for now. She's been stuck with us for a long time. Give her some breathing space"

Lan exhaled.

"Yeah"

"I'm suddenly curious about what she did to Billy"

Carl said.

"Oh I can tell you the story"

Lan smiled.

It was like annoying Billy was a hobby meant for him.

Billy rolled his eyes, then landed it on Roman.

At the very back of the hall, Anya stood with her back resting on the wall and her sharp eyes scanning the hall.

No one approached her, well no one could see her. No one except a red squirrel munching on cheese.

Wait.. what..

Anya raised her head and let her eyes land on the red furry squirrel which stood on a tall boy's shoulder.

It was munching on cheese, yet the squirrel's eyes were on her.

How is that possible?

She raised a brow.

Nah..I'm just imagining it..

As if reading her mind, the squirrel paused on its snack....and waved at her with its cheek full.

Anya's eyes widen a little.

Yep, it can see me...

Anya was a rare case to have awakened at five, and with that, she unlocked two abilities.

Her first ability had to do with gravity control. She could manipulate the gravity around her making her body light or heavy if needed.

She can also affect the gravity around her opponents putting heavy weight on them.

As long as the opponents are around her environment, she could shift their weight.

Her second ability has to do with space. Anya can cancel the space between herself and her opponents, appearing before them in a blink. It's like teleportation but much better.

She can take a single step and cross a hundred meters in a blink.

She can also distort the space around her, make her seem invisible in the eyes of others, but not really invisiblity.

Even transcendent beast masters will take a lot of effort to see her, but some could sense her presence.

Anya had taken years to master her abilities and making it one with herself.

Most high ranked danger beasts wouldn't be able to detect her, Yet, this little furry chipmunk could not only detect, but see her like an open book.

I could kill it..

Sensing her slight intent, Fury squealed ten jumped back to Roman and hid from her sight.

Anya smirked.

The large double door pushed open and sir Zach stepped in along with two other knights.

The first years coordinated themselves and silent reigned.

Sir Zach scanned the room and nodded.

"I wanna officially welcome you all to Avalon academy, don't get excited or jumpy about it anymore, it gets difficult from here. You are knights in training so it's important you know what's at stake and what you're fighting for"

He paused for a while.

"You will defend Avalon with your lives, and trust me, Avalon has a lot of enemies"

He smiled darkly.

"After the three years of training, you will decide if you want to be royal knights, or join any of the Big Three. In the end, it's all a service to the King"

Some of the students pumped their chest proudly, ready to serve. Some thought of the dangers they were going to face in the coming future. Others thought if they really wanted to die, and most were nonchalant with excitement and trill.

Sir Zach nodded

"Every year, the first years always have a tournament to welcome them into the Academy, and this tournament...

He paused then smirked

"...the first years gets to battle against the second and third years "

He dropped the bomb shell, and the hall erupted with complaints and murmur.

Sir Zach let out a laugh, then frowned

"Enough!"

The hall became silent.

"The goal of Avalon academy is to create stronger knights. When you enter the battle field, you will face opponents and beast that are stronger than you. Right Now is the best time to start"

Sir Zach explained.

"More information will be given to you by your homeroom teacher and your complaints are invalid. Happy orientation, and good day"

With that, he turned and walked away.

The students were stunned.

But some where excited.

"I came here to be the best, so I'll deal with any shit that comes my way "

Roman smiled.

"I would love to be in your way"

Lunar smirked.

Roman looked at him.

"Let's hope I don't trample you"

He said.
