Colorful lights moved across the walls.
Students laughed, danced, and talked loudly as the annual school party filled the building with energy.

"Okay, this party is already better than last year's."

"You look amazing."

"Looking for someone?"

"No."

Alexander Nightshade calmly observed the party.
His dark clothes contrasted with the bright lights of the gym.
Students occasionally glanced at him.
Some curious.
Some nervous.

'Humans celebrating…'
His golden eyes moved slowly through the crowd.
Then they stopped.
On Elena.
For a moment, neither of them looked away.

'Why does he always look so calm?'
Alexander gave her a small nod.

A glass of bourbon in his hand.

Stefan sighed.

Damon smirked slightly.
"Relax."
His eyes narrowed slightly.

Stefan looked serious.
"He's dangerous."
Damon chuckled.
"Everything interesting usually is."

The gym doors opened again.
And the atmosphere changed instantly.
Students turned to look.
Because someone very familiar had entered.
Katherine Pierce.
She walked into the party wearing a dark elegant dress.
Her confident smile immediately caught attention.
Several students whispered.
They couldn't tell why…

Then she saw him.

Her smile widened slowly.
