Chapter 27 - The Night Visitor

Mystic Falls had grown quiet again.

The small town looked peaceful beneath the moonlight.

Streetlights illuminated empty roads.

Most residents were already asleep.

But supernatural creatures rarely slept early.

And tonight…

One of them was feeling particularly curious.

Alexander Nightshade sat on the balcony of his house.

The cool night wind moved gently through the trees.

His golden eyes looked toward the dark forest surrounding Mystic Falls.

He could feel many supernatural presences across the town.

Vampires.

Witches.

Werewolves.

And two very ancient vampires.

The Originals.

Alexander leaned back in his chair.

'Mystic Falls truly attracts interesting creatures.'

Then suddenly—

He felt a familiar presence approaching.

Fast.

Very fast.

Alexander didn't even turn around.

A moment later a blur of speed landed lightly on the balcony railing.

Rebekah Mikaelson.

She balanced effortlessly on the railing like a cat.

Blonde hair moving softly in the night wind.

Her blue eyes watched Alexander with amusement.

"You didn't even look surprised."

Alexander smiled faintly.

"You weren't exactly hiding."

Rebekah jumped down from the railing and walked closer.

Her movements graceful.

Predatory.

Curious.

She stopped in front of him.

Studying his face carefully.

"You know…"

She tilted her head slightly.

"Most people would be terrified if an Original vampire suddenly appeared on their balcony."

Alexander shrugged slightly.

"Most people aren't me."

Rebekah laughed softly.

"That's becoming very obvious."

For a moment she simply looked at him.

Then she slowly walked around him.

Like someone inspecting something fascinating.

"My brother thinks you're dangerous."

Alexander remained relaxed.

"He's not wrong."

Rebekah smirked.

"I like honest men."

She leaned against the balcony railing.

Still watching him.

"You didn't tell Elijah what you are."

Alexander looked up at the stars.

"Neither did you."

Rebekah smiled slightly.

"Fair point."

The wind moved softly between them.

Then Rebekah suddenly asked:

"So tell me something."

Alexander looked at her.

"Maybe."

Her eyes sparkled with curiosity.

"Why Mystic Falls?"

Alexander thought for a moment.

Then answered simply.

"Because it's quiet."

Rebekah burst out laughing.

"You clearly haven't been here long."

Alexander chuckled slightly.

"I'm beginning to notice."

Rebekah stepped closer again.

Now only a few feet away.

Her expression became slightly more serious.

"My family has existed for over a thousand years."

Alexander listened silently.

"We've seen almost every supernatural creature in existence."

She paused.

Her eyes locked with his golden gaze.

"But I've never seen anything like you."

Alexander smiled faintly.

"That's because there isn't anything like me."

Rebekah studied him carefully.

Trying to sense his power again.

That strange combination of supernatural energies.

Vampire.

Werewolf.

Something else entirely.

Something ancient.

She finally crossed her arms.

"You're hiding something big."

Alexander didn't deny it.

Rebekah suddenly smiled again.

The serious mood disappearing instantly.

"You know what?"

Alexander raised an eyebrow.

"What?"

She leaned slightly closer.

"I think I'm going to keep visiting you."

Alexander looked amused.

"Should I be worried?"

Rebekah smirked.

"Maybe."

Far away across town…

Another pair of eyes watched Alexander's house from a rooftop.

Katherine Pierce.

Her sharp gaze followed the scene carefully.

She could see Rebekah talking to Alexander.

And she did not look happy.

Katherine crossed her arms.

Her lips forming a small dangerous smile.

'Oh sweetheart…'

She whispered softly.

'You think you're the only one interested in him?'

Mystic Falls was about to become very complicated.

Because now…

Three dangerous women had their eyes on the same man.

Elena Gilbert.

Rebekah Mikaelson.

Katherine Pierce.

And none of them liked sharing.
