Chapter 3 - Hey Girls

Max continued walking down the long stretch of road, the forest quietly surrounding him on both sides. Somewhere ahead—hidden beyond the trees and hills—was Camp Half-Blood. He wasn't exactly sure how far away it was, but something inside him seemed to know he was heading in the right direction.

As he walked, he began noticing something strange.

The forest felt… alive.

Not in the usual mystical way he expected from the Percy Jackson world. Dryads, nature spirits, and small elemental creatures existed, sure—but this was different.

Max could hear nature.

Not actual words, but impressions.

The rustling of leaves felt like whispers. The shifting soil beneath his boots carried faint pulses of awareness. Even the wind brushing past the treetops seemed to carry emotion.

It was like every piece of nature was connected to a single quiet consciousness.

Gaia.

Max exhaled slowly.

"So that's new," he muttered.

The connection wasn't overwhelming, thankfully. More like a background awareness—like feeling your own heartbeat without needing to focus on it.

Still… it confirmed what had happened earlier.

He really had become Gaia's demigod.

Another realization came to him as he flexed his fingers, sparks of faint energy dancing along his skin.

His Conduit powers felt… smoother than he expected.

In the Infamous games, conduits usually had to switch between specific elemental powers depending on their source—electricity, smoke, neon, concrete, and so on.

Max tested it briefly.

Electricity sparked between his fingers.

A faint tremor moved through the ground beneath his feet.

Then a tiny flicker of heat formed in his palm.

"Huh," he said thoughtfully.

"No switching."

He could access everything simultaneously.

"That's convenient."

But then a strange feeling crept up his spine.

He stopped walking.

Someone was watching him.

Max slowly turned his head, scanning the forest.

Nothing.

Just trees.

Wind.

Birds.

Then suddenly—

WHAM.

Max was tackled from behind.

Before he could react, arms wrapped tightly around him in a powerful hug.

"Its so good to finally see you in person!"

The familiar voice made him freeze.

Max twisted around, carefully prying the attacker off him as they both stumbled slightly on the road.

Standing in front of him was a girl who looked around sixteen.

Her appearance immediately reminded him of Vaggie from Hazbin Hotel, but altered. She looked far more human, with more natural proportions, though one detail remained the same.

She was still missing one eye.

Her remaining eye glowed with excitement as she grinned at him.

The voice.

The attitude.

The energy.

Max blinked.

"Luna?" he asked cautiously.

The girl crossed her arms with a smug smile.

"Yep."

She spread her arms dramatically.

"That's me."

Max stared for another moment.

Then laughed.

"Wow… okay."

He dusted off his jacket.

"It's really you."

Luna grinned widely.

"It's so nice to finally be with you again."

Something about her presence felt slightly different now—stronger somehow—but Max couldn't quite figure out why.

"Let me guess," Max said as they both sat down on the side of the road. "Hana is nearby?"

Luna nodded.

"Of course."

She kicked a pebble off the road casually.

"We shared a body before. It would be weird if we suddenly started wandering too far apart."

Max chuckled.

"So where is she?"

"Exploring," Luna said. "Getting used to her new body."

She stretched her arms behind her head.

"It's weird having full control over our own bodies now."

Max nodded slowly.

"I can imagine."

He leaned forward slightly.

"So… what did you two get?"

Luna smirked.

"Oh, you're going to like this."

Max raised an eyebrow.

"You remember the twins from Atomic Heart?"

Max blinked.

"The ballerina robots?"

"Exactly."

Luna stood up and spun dramatically.

"Since their situation was kinda similar to what me and Hana went through before, we decided to base our new bodies on that design."

Max tilted his head.

"...Modified, I assume?"

Luna grinned.

"Oh yeah."

To demonstrate, she casually pulled a small knife from her pocket and sliced a thin line across her chest.

Max jumped.

"Luna—!"

The cut opened slightly.

But instead of blood, he saw something else.

Shimmering silver polymer.

It looked like living liquid metal, shifting and moving beneath her skin.

The wound closed almost instantly.

Max stared.

"...Okay that's actually pretty cool."

Luna smirked proudly.

"Our polymer bodies were modified with the blood of Aphrodite."

Max blinked again.

"So…"

She pointed to herself.

"Technically we're demigods of Aphrodite now."

Max laughed.

"That actually makes way too much sense."

Luna shrugged.

"I don't feel pain anymore either," she continued casually. "But I can still feel pleasure, taste food, and do all the normal human stuff."

She leaned closer.

"And we regenerate really fast."

Max nodded slowly.

"Anything else?"

"Oh yeah."

She pointed at him.

"We can't really die."

Max raised an eyebrow.

"What do you mean really die?"

Luna shrugged.

"As long as there's polymer left, we can regenerate."

She smiled softly for a moment.

"So we won't lose you like that again."

Max's expression softened.

Before he could respond, Luna noticed something on his hand.

"Hey."

She pointed.

"You got one of those polymer gloves too?"

Max raised his hand.

"Yeah. From the gacha."

Luna nodded.

"Then hold still."

Before he could question it, she sliced her arm again.

Max winced.

She reached inside the cut and pulled out a small piece of living polymer.

The silver material twitched slightly like it was alive.

Then it slid into the left glove on Max's hand.

The glove suddenly lit up with faint blue energy.

"There," Luna said.

"You should have full functionality now."

Max flexed his hand as the glove interface activated.

"Oh."

That felt significantly better.

"Hana will probably want the other glove," Luna added casually.

"So she can possess it if she wants."

Max laughed.

"So you two basically turned yourselves into advanced living AI assistants too?"

"Pretty much."

She shrugged.

"Oh right, my unique wish."

Max leaned forward.

"What was it?"

Luna grinned.

"Rimuru's power set."

Max blinked.

"...You're kidding."

"I only watched the anime," she admitted. "So I only have those abilities."

She raised a finger.

"And of course there's a limiter."

Before Max could respond—

Rustling came from the forest.

A girl stepped out from between the trees.

She looked similar to Kurumi from Date A Live, but her appearance was cleaner and more natural. Her mismatched eyes gleamed playfully as she rushed forward.

"Hana!"

She wrapped both arms around Max and Luna.

"So good to see you again, Max."

Max chuckled.

"Kurumi powers?"

Hana smiled innocently.

"Maybe."

She stepped back and tilted her head.

"So what did you get?"

Max shrugged slightly.

He raised his hand.

Golden light formed.

Excalibur appeared in his grip.

Even sealed, the legendary sword radiated immense power.

Then electricity crackled between his fingers.

Luna and Hana both stared.

Hana nodded slowly.

"Fate abilities and Conduit powers."

She crossed her arms.

"And the gacha system."

Max blinked.

"...How did you know that?"

Hana smiled sheepishly.

"Sorry."

"We've been watching you since you woke up."

Max groaned.

"You two are unbelievable."

Then he pulled them both into a hug.

For a moment, none of them said anything.

Just enjoying the fact that they were together again.

Eventually Luna broke the silence.

"So."

She stood up and stretched.

"Camp Half-Blood?"

Max nodded.

"Camp Half-Blood."

Luna glanced at him.

"We also need to talk about one small problem."

Max raised an eyebrow.

"And what's that?"

Luna smirked.

"How we're going to hide the fact that you're now the only demigod of Gaia."

Max sighed.

"...Yeah."

That might be an issue.

The three of them started walking down the road together, the forest growing quieter as they felt their destination drawing closer.
