Cú Alter is an extremely powerful and brutal Servant.
He's essentially the Irish version of Heracles — the best killing machine you could possibly summon.
Because basically, he's no different from an OC drawn by Medb on DeviantArt, so his personality is very, very edgy, along with his edgy appearance and even an edgy nickname to top it off.
Mad King.
With a single philosophy and a single goal, to kill.
He's extremely difficult to talk to, even though he's very rational and speaks quite fluently.
Because the moment anyone gets in the way of his slaughter, even his own Master, his mentor- actually... never mind.
Anyone he know he'll just kill them without hesitation.
Quite similar to Emiya Alter, except he embraces that purpose as his reason for existing, whereas Emiya Alter hates it. Maybe that's why the two of them despise each other despite both having such emotionless personalities?
Yes, he's very edgy. Therefore…
"I'll stand on the side of these monsters. After all, they're the least important targets. As for you two—"
He pointed at Archer and Lancer, then flashed a grin.
"I want to be the one to personally finish both of you off."
Archer and Lancer exchanged glances after hearing that extremely arrogant and confident declaration.
"Miss, I think this guy is dead serious. How about we team up to take him down first, then deal with the Great Sin Lust afterward?" Lancer took the cigarette out of his mouth and exhaled.
"Why?" Archer asked suspiciously.
"Oh come on, don't you see? The Berserker in front of us doesn't even speak human language anymore. He'll definitely kill innocent civilians too if they get in his way. So let's beat him first, and we can go back to being enemies later. Sound good?"
"…"
Seeing her fall silent, it seemed she was communicating with her Master.
"Hurry up already." Berserker stood there, swaying his spiky tail, waiting impatiently.
"Calm down, our lives aren't that easy to take," Lancer said cheerfully, trying to soothe the increasingly irritated Berserker.
It was like an owner calming down a vicious dog.
"DON'T CALL ME A DOG!!"
"Who are you even talking to?" Lancer scratched his head and asked.
"None of your business."
Archer stayed quiet for a moment before finally speaking.
"My Master accepts this short-term alliance. Until Berserker is successfully eliminated, we will remain allies."
"Your Master is pretty generous," Lancer said, flicking his cigarette away and stepping on it.
"Done chatting yet? Now I will—"
A dumb chimera lunged forward and bit into Berserker's shoulder. Though Berserker didn't even flinch, his eyes sharpened like razors.
All Servants were currently at Level 1, so their ATK and DEF were quite low.
But that didn't mean they were weak.
"Get lost, you annoyance."
Berserker… from now on let's call him Cú Alter — spun his spear Gáe Bolg and pierced straight through the chimera's brain.
Then he hoisted the chimera up on his spear and flicked it upward.
Whoosh!
Instantly, the chimera was sliced in half by Cú Alter's blood-red spear.
Blood splattered all over Cú's body, and for some reason his eyes glowed brighter.
"Master… I wish to use my Noble Phantasm… to end this right here."
Wow, no interest in a proper fight, straight to instant kill? Truly Cú Alter.
Lancer and Archer immediately took up combat stances.
"Gáe…"
His sharp fangs gleamed as he gripped the spear with both hands and spun it.
"Bol—"
"NOPE, NOT HAPPENING!!"
Cú Alter stopped and looked up.
A massive figure plummeted down like a meteor. The moment it landed, the ground shook violently.
"I can sense it… Someone like you is the type who will do anything to kill. You seek neither victory nor mercy. A being like you — I must eradicate you!"
"Goddamn it, why does someone always interrupt me before I finish my sentence?"
The smoke cleared, revealing Saber standing before everyone — a towering, majestic figure like an unbreakable wall.
And she was carrying her Master in a princess carry.
"…"
"…"
"…"
All three Servants stared at Saber, then at her Master.
Even Angra and Jeanne Alter were speechless.
Because, you know… the Master is the Servant's lifeline — the single most important person who must be protected.
So… uhhh… letting enemy Servants see your Master's face isn't exactly a brilliant idea, is it?
"WHY DID YOU DRAG ME HERE??" Robert was utterly confused and terrified, looking around frantically.
There were three different Servants, a giant monster right there, and the surroundings were burning like hell.
For someone as normal as him, coming here was basically suicide??
"Sorry, Master. Leaving you back there wasn't safe either, the monsters are everywhere. Even if I cleared them all, more would just come back. So I brought you along to keep you safe."
"THEN WHY BRING ME TO FACE THREE SERVANTS?! DIDN'T YOU SAY THEY COULD ONE-SHOT ME IF THEY WANTED TO?!"
"Um… well… I'm still not quite used to… this body yet," she said, scratching her cheek with an embarrassed expression.
She's lying!!!
"Uh… do I need to… turn away? I still haven't seen your Master's face," Archer politely raised her hand.
"Ah… yes, please."
"I suppose I'll do the same. Better hide your Master somewhere safe," Lancer said cheerfully, turning his head away.
They seemed… surprisingly friendly?
"They really are heroic spirits. Looks like you were overthinking it. If they're heroes, they must be good peop—"
Robert didn't even finish his sentence before a spear shot toward him with murderous intent.
Clang!!
"…tch."
Gáe Bolg had been blocked by three weapons at once.
Saber, Archer, and Lancer had all intercepted it.
Saber then gently set Robert down and stood protectively in front of him, alongside Archer and Lancer.
Robert blinked, almost unable to believe he had nearly died if not for their timely protection.
"Hey hey, it's only Day 1, do you really need to be that aggressive?" Hector said casually.
"Right now he's our common enemy, so we'll call a temporary truce," Archer said gently to Saber.
"Lancer… Archer… I won't forget this debt."
"Hmph. Power of friendship, huh? Come at me all at once then." Cú Alter spun Gáe Bolg again and slammed his spiky tail hard into the ground.
"Gáe Bo—"
BOOOOM!!!
A deafening roar came from the primordial Great Sin of humanity: Lust. It was radiating some terrifying energy.
"GODDAMMIT LET ME FINISH MY LINE!! WHY DOES EVERYONE KEEP INTERRUPT—"
A tentacle wrapped around Cú Alter's leg and hurled him straight through three buildings.
Wow. Even with Luck D, he's somehow even unluckier than E-rank. What do you call this? Lancer Luck?
"I'm Berserker, not Lancer!!!"
The three Servants watched as Cú Alter disappeared after being yeeted, then turned their attention to the Great Sin Lust.
It had grown even larger than before. Apparently, Cú Alter blocking them had bought it time to absorb more human emotional energy from the area.
They could even feel themselves being slowly absorb by it.
"We have to take it down now. I don't know if we still have time," Archer said worriedly.
"It's fine. We have to. After all, this is where my Master lives," Saber declared firmly, raising her sword.
"This old man's got more work to do… Fine then," Lancer said, lighting another cigarette.
Now, Robert would finally witness the true power of the Servants.
