Boom boom boom!
A series of continuous explosions rang out nonstop.
In a secret war like the Holy Grail War, they clearly weren't trying very hard to hide it… Would they explain this away as a gas explosion again?
Robert was hiding behind a public restroom, watching the one-sided battle between Saber and Caster.
Saber, acting like a heavy tank, could easily overwhelm Caster.
The problem was that this Caster was a complete madman. On top of that, he came prepared — and a prepared Caster is the most troublesome enemy in the Holy Grail War.
It was like a young man who believed in justice having to fight against his future self, who possessed a massive arsenal of weapons, a mature but deeply melancholic mindset, and was willing to use even a Reality Marble just to kill him!!
…The example is a bit bad, but you get the idea.
"I can't even join this fight," Robert thought as he watched swarms of bomb spiders appear from all directions, exploding continuously toward Saber.
For someone like him, even if heroic blood surged within him, there was nothing he could do. Sacrificing himself would only turn him into an idiot, not a hero.
BAM!
Robert flinched and held his breath, looking up at the roof of the restroom.
The bomb centipede Caster's familiar was staring around with a body covered in shit and piss! Disgusting as hell!!
Robert had been trying to escape from this thing the whole time. It was targeting him, not Saber.
Saber had tried to protect him, but with Caster's annoying clown-like harassment, she couldn't break through to save him.
'Should I use a Command Seal now? But I only have one left!'
Using it now meant saying goodbye to Saber! He didn't want to end things here yet!
Then he glanced at the corpse of his fellow police officer.
Even though they weren't close, the man hadn't done anything wrong… It was Robert who had dragged them into this death trap.
Ken had gone completely missing. He hoped the kid was still alive.
"…Damn it! I have to do something!"
The moment he spoke, the naïve centipede beside him looked at him.
"…" Robert turned, covered his nose, and forced a smile.
You know how it is — sometimes emotions overpower intelligence.
"THERE'S SOMETHING UP THERE!!" Robert suddenly pointed at the sky and shouted in a panicked, worried voice.
The centipede immediately looked up.
Good, it fell for it!
"What is it?!" Saber also looked up.
Hey, why are you looking up too?! Focus on fighting Caster!!
"Oya?" Caster also looked up.
You too?!
Robert immediately started running. Right then, the centipede realized there was nothing in the sky, looked down, and saw no one.
Strange? I don't remember humans having teleportation abilities. Am I hallucinating?
"Tick tock bomb, my dear~ The enemy is running away~" Caster reminded his familiar.
The centipede looked around and spotted Robert using some bizarre family technique.
"Hmph!"
Suddenly, Saber dropped from the sky like an executioner, swinging her sword.
BOOM!!
The ground shattered into pieces, but she missed Caster entirely. The madman was now floating somewhere else.
"Oh? Oh oh oh oh?? Are you angry? Are you mad at meee??"
Why doesn't this guy just become a Berserker already?
Saber glanced at the bomb centipede chasing after her Master, then at Caster who was sticking his tongue out and licking his scissor.
'If I use my Noble Phantasm now, Master will pass out from mana depletion… The only option left is to pull Master out of the battlefield!'
So Saber stabbed her sword into the ground. A violent cracking sound came from her muscles.
"Oya?"
Saber began removing her armor, revealing her six-pack and a tight black bodysuit underneath.
She then lifted the armor up for Caster to see… and dropped it.
CRAAAASH!!!
The already broken ground turned into dust under the terrifying weight of her armor.
What is this, Rock Lee?
To move her limbs more freely, she had no choice but to take off the armor. Her durability might decrease, but her comfort and weight dropped dramatically.
Meaning she was now as fast as a speedster! …Probably?
"Oya oya oya? You're taking off your armor? For what? To fight me? To save your Master? OR BOTH?!"
"I'm doing both. Just wait there," Saber's eyes glowed with two colors as she got into a sprinter's starting position.
The bomb centipede was getting closer and closer to Robert. His stamina had limits, and he was gradually being caught.
'Damn it! Where the hell are Mavus and Assassin?! They said they wanted to cooperate but left me here to die?!'
He didn't want to die yet! There were still so many things he hadn't done — including atoning for his mistakes!
The innocent people who had died, the lives taken without receiving justice…
And that old lady too…
"DON'T FUCK WITH MEEEEE!!!" Robert roared as the bomb centipede finally caught up and prepared to strike.
Right at that moment, the image of a red-haired young man and his Saber appeared in Robert's right eye.
Then other Masters appeared, standing in a straight line, looking at him.
What is this? Avatar?
Whoosh!
In the blink of an eye, just before the centipede could pierce him, a figure flashed past and pulled him out of danger.
It was so fast that even the usually insane-acting Caster was shocked.
To the naked eye, Saber only appeared for about 4 frames per second. Twice as fast as that guy who liked glazing the Harambe gorilla at 21fps!
Just by taking off her armor?! How heavy was that thing?!
Robert blinked and looked at Saber, who was now carrying him tucked under her arm, his face pressed against her massive chest.
"T-That fast?! I thought your Speed was B?!"
"Well… you can blame that on your Clairvoyance."
"Huh?"
"Clairvoyance does let you see a Servant's strongest parameters. But sometimes Servants wear things to suppress their own power, and Clairvoyance reads them in that suppressed state instead of their full potential."
Wow, that's pretty interesting, huh?
"Anyway, we don't have much time. I'll get you out of here."
"Oh, so you're going to carry me somewhere far away, right?"
"…" Saber looked at him and gave a kind smile.
"…Right?"
Then Saber lifted him up into a javelin-throwing stance.
"RIGHT?!?!"
"Master, do you trust me?"
"I TRUST YOU IF YOU DON'T THROW M— AHHHHHHHH!!"
Saber hurled him straight through the third-floor window of the school building.
CRASH!
"…" Caster watched what Saber had just done and scratched his head.
Wow, I know my imagination is crazy sometimes, but even I've never thought of throwing the Master like that. Maybe I should learn from her.
Caster's admiration for Saber: 0 → 1
