"Who are you?" Jesse asked as she snatched her camera out of Kay's hands.
Kay took a step back and held his hands up in surrender, "I'm Lee's friend, Kay."
Jesse eyed him up and down and shook her head, "Lee doesn't have friends."
"Hey!" I protested, trying to hop out of the car and failing as my legs wobbled underneath me. Kay was by my side in a flash, he wrapped his arms around me and led me back to the car seat. I blushed and stared down at my hands, thoroughly humiliated.
"Y'all must've come from far if he's that sick," Jesse put a hand on her hip and leaned to the side, eyeing us judgementally. Her eyes flicked between Kay and me before finally settling on me, "So this your new plaything?"
"M-my what?" I sputtered, completely flabbergasted by her accusation.
"Back then it was Xaiver now it's this-- Kay? Was it?" Jesse gestured to Kay with a sardonic smile.
