My heart sank at his words as tears gathered in my ears. I forcefully blinked them away but he didn't seem to care, not one bit.
After turning me down, he started gathering up the files that he was working on and stuffed them into his suitcase hurriedly as if he couldn't wait to get out of here as soon as he possibly could.
I watched him do so until he was done clearing out the once littered table. When he finished, he paid for his drinks and exited the building but right then and there, I knew that I wouldn't just let him leave without achieving what I came here to do.
So I picked up my bag and chased after him. He was about to enter his car when I cornered him and stretched out my arms wide apart to stop him so that he couldn't leave.
"Yes, you're right." I admitted sadly yet bluntly. "Whatever I'm about to do is selfish, reckless and stupid but I don't have a choice."
