I groaned weakly and tiredly snapped my eyes open to adjust the rays of sun passing through them from the curtains.
It took me a brief moment to realize that I wasn't in my bedroom.
At first, I panicked but I was able to calm myself down when it dawned on me that I was in Darren's mansion, his bedroom to be precise and not somewhere entirely unfamiliar.
So that means, last night wasn't a dream. I had indeed followed him here after striking a bargain with him to help me out. Everything that happened so far wasn't my imagination but reality.
"Good morning." I heard the familiar voice of Darren from the other end of the bedroom. I sat up straight to face him, my blurry eyes slowly clearing up a bit.
He was seated on the couch with a pile of papers littered everywhere and from the look of things, he must've been working all through the night.
