Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Money talks

‎===

‎Waking up in Shoko Ieiri's infirmary was becoming a habit Shinra really needed to break.

‎Third time in like two weeks. That was either dedication or a serious problem with his life choices.

‎His whole body ached. Not the good kind of ache from a hard workout the kind that meant he'd been damn near killed and stitched back together. But he was alive. That counted for something.

‎Morning, sunshine.

‎Rob.

‎Ready to pick your technique?

‎Shinra blinked. The blue screen materialized in front of his face, the same list of options from before staring back at him.

‎Options:

‎· Limitless (Stripped Down): Basic version of Gojo's technique. Infinity-lite. Still requires massive CE control.

‎· Ten Shadows (changed): Not Megumi's version yours. Different shadows. Different summons. Your creativity matters. (you ain't getting big Raga in this)

‎· Energy manipulation (kinetic): manipulate kinetic energy as you will.

‎· Projection Sorcery (Fixed): Naobito's technique without the 24fps limit. 60 frames Max.

‎· Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan (Sasuke's version)

‎· Construction (Refined): Yorozu's technique but actually usable. Build anything you understand.

‎· Shadow clones ( maximum 50 ) you can create clones of yourself like in Naruto.

‎· Disaster (Elemental): Pick one element fire, water, earth, wood. Master it.

‎Choose wisely, bud.

‎Shinra read through them again. Limitless was tempting Infinity-lite was still Infinity. But Gojo already had that, and Shinra wasn't trying to be Diet Gojo.

‎Ten Shadows was Megumi's thing. Felt weird to step on Potential Man's toes like that.

‎Kinetic energy manipulation sounded cool but vague.

‎Projection Sorcery? Naobito died using that. 60 frames but still Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

‎Construction could be busted if he was smart about it. But he wasn't a physics guy.

‎Shadow clones were Naruto classics, but fifty max meant he could only do so much.

‎Disaster elements were solid but basic.

‎Then his eyes landed on the Sharingan.

‎Eternal Mangekyō. Sasuke's version. No blindness, no drawbacks, and ROB had "jujutsu-fied" it to run on cursed energy instead of chakra.

‎He was a Naruto fan. He knew what that meant.

‎Precognition. Combat perception. Amaterasu. Susano'o.

‎Yeah.

‎He selected it without a second thought.

‎DING!

‎[TECHNIQUE SELECTED: Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan (Sasuke's Version)]

‎Description: The ultimate evolution of visual prowess. Grants precognition, advanced CE perception, and control over the flames of Amaterasu. Ultimate defense: Susano'o.

‎Note: Due to the "Permanent" nature of the reward, eye strain and blindness risks are removed. Now consumes Cursed Energy instead of Chakra.

‎Heat rushed through his skull. Behind his eyes. Not painful more like someone was adjusting the focus on a camera he didn't know he had.

‎He closed his eyes. Opened them.

‎His reflection stared back from the window.

‎Three tomoe spun in his irises fast, faster, then blurred into a six-pointed star pattern. The Eternal Mangekyō. Full glory.

‎The world wasn't the same anymore.

‎Everything moved slower. Not literally his perception had just cranked up to maximum. He could see the cursed energy flowing through the walls like veins. The flickers in the lightbulbs. Residual traces of Shoko's RCT still clinging to his skin like glowing dust.

‎His vision just went from 140p to 8K.

‎Holy shit.

‎Told you. Now don't go blind.

‎You said no blindness risk.

‎I lied about a lot of things. Not that. You're good.

‎The door opened.

‎Shoko walked in, clipboard in hand, cigarette dangling from her lips. Standard fit. She looked exhausted probably been up all night patching him and Yuji back together.

‎"You're finally awake." She didn't look up from her clipboard. "I was starting to think I'd have to cut you open to see what makes you tick."

‎Then she looked at him.

‎Her feet stopped moving.

‎The cigarette almost fell out of her mouth.

‎"Your eyes..." she whispered. She stepped closer, squinting. "What the hell happened?"

‎Shinra sat up. His body moved smoother than before balance perfect, muscles responding instantly. The EMS was already feeding him data about his own center of gravity.

‎"I think I awakened my innate technique," he said. Voice raspy from whatever tubes they'd had down his throat. "Near-death awakening or whatever."

‎"Awakening?" Shoko's eyes narrowed. "Shinra, you were clinically dead for three minutes. Your heart stopped, your lungs were shredded, and you were missing enough blood to kill a cow." She sighed, blowing out smoke. "And yet here you are. Looking like you're ready to fight another Special Grade."

‎"Where's Yuji?"

‎Her expression flattened.

‎"Next room. On a slab. Higher-ups are already calling for cremation."

‎Shinra stood up. Legs steady. Good.

‎"He's not dead. Sukuna won't let his only vessel burn."

‎"Gojo said the same thing." Shoko muttered. "You two are a headache."

‎They walked to the next room.

‎---

‎Yuji was on a metal table. Chest still open. Heart still missing. But breathing.

‎Gojo sat in a chair next to him, legs crossed, looking like he was waiting for a bus instead of watching a corpse breathe.

‎He looked up when they entered. His blindfolded face tilted.

‎"Shinra-kun! You're alive! And..." He paused. His head cocked further. "Your eyes are different. Very different. What's that?"

‎Shinra walked closer. Let Gojo see.

‎"Awakened my technique. it's called Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan."

‎Gojo was quiet for a second. Then he laughed.

‎"Sharing-an? What does it due is it similar to my eyes or something?"

‎"Show me."

‎Shinra let the EMS spin. Gojo's Six Eyes were probably estimating it in real-time analyzing the perception boost, the CE consumption, the whole package.

‎"Precognition," Shinra said. "Advanced perception. I can see CE flow like you wouldn't believe. Also got flames Amaterasu. Black fire that burns for seven days. And a defense called Susano'o basically a giant energy avatar."

‎Gojo whistled.

‎"Flames and a giant. And you kept the precognition." He tapped his blindfold. "My Six Eyes are impressed. That's rare."

‎Yuji's eyes snapped open.

‎"GUH"

‎He sat up. Looked around wildly. Saw his open chest. Looked at Gojo. Looked at Shinra. Looked back at his chest.

‎"WHY IS MY CHEST OPEN?!"

‎Gojo grinned. "Good morning to you too."

‎"I SHOULD BE DEAD!"

‎"You were. Shoko's good."

‎Yuji's hands went to his chest then stopped. His eyes went distant. Confused.

‎"So... he already made the binding vow with sukuna." shinra thought.

‎"Sukuna... He needs his vessel. He's not letting you die." Shinra said.

‎Yuji blinked. Then he grinned. "So I'm too annoying to kill? Even for the King of Curses?"

‎"Something like that."

‎Shoko stepped forward. "I need to close that before you catch something. Lay back down."

‎Yuji laid back, still grinning. "This is the craziest day of my life."

‎"It's only 9 AM," Gojo said cheerfully.

‎"STOP."

‎---

‎Later after Shoko closed Yuji up, after Gojo explained the higher-ups wanted him dead, after Yuji processed that he was basically on death row Shinra walked out of the infirmary.

‎He ignored Shoko's protests about rest and recovery. He felt fine. Better than fine. The EMS made everything feel sharp.

‎He pulled out his phone.

‎First thing: Transfer 10 million yen to an anonymous account for. "Supplies."

‎Second thing: Open the luxury shopping app.

‎DING!

‎[NEW MISSION: Spend yo Bag]

‎Objective: Spend Over 20 Million Yen.

‎Reward: Mystery Loot Box

‎Shinra smiled.

‎Say less.

‎He scrolled through the app. New wardrobe first custom-tailored black combat gear that would fit under the Akatsuki cloak. Drip maintenance. 3 million.

‎Then he saw it.

‎Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

‎Price: 30 million yen.

‎Do it.

‎You're really buying a car.

‎I'm really buying a car.

‎He purchased it. Delivery in three days.

‎Next: Weapons. He scrolled through the cursed tool listings official Jujutsu High vendors had an app, apparently. Grade 1 tools. Expensive as hell.

‎One caught his eye.

‎"Heaven-Piercing Naginata" (Grade 1)

‎Ability: Conductive alloy construction. Extremely durable. Resists shattering even under massive force.

‎Price: 15 million yen.

‎For Maki.

‎You're buying her a 15 million yen weapon.

She deserves it.

‎You're down bad.

‎Shut up.

‎Purchased. Delivery by private crow in ten minutes.

‎DING!

‎[MISSION COMPLETE: Spend yo Bag]

‎Amount Spent: 45 Million Yen

‎Reward: Mystery Loot Box (Opening...)

‎The box spun. Landed.

‎[LOOT BOX REWARD: 15 Bitcoins]

‎Shinra blinked.

‎...Rob.

‎WHAT.

‎Did you just give me Bitcoin?

‎I... I didn't expect that to be in the pool. That's not how did

‎So I just made money by spending money?

‎Rob was silent for a long moment.

‎I hate when the RNG does this.

‎Shinra sold all 15 Bitcoins immediately. The market was good. Really good. Within minutes, his account balance jumped by over 208 million yen.

‎He checked his total.

‎I used to pray for times like these.

‎I'm never financially mentoring you again.

‎Love you too.

‎---

‎The training grounds were empty except for one person.

‎Maki.

‎She was alone, swinging a wooden staff with enough force to make the air whistle. She looked like she hadn't slept. Dark circles under her eyes. Movements sharp but tired.

‎When she heard footsteps, she spun. The staff aimed at his throat.

‎She stopped when she saw him.

‎"You're alive." Her voice was steady, but her hands shook slightly. Just a little. Just enough for the EMS to notice. Her eyes scanned him then stopped on his face. "What's wrong with your eyes? You look... different."

‎"Awakened my technique." Shinra walked right up to the tip of her staff. "And I told you I'd teach you, didn't I? Can't do that if I'm dead."

‎Maki lowered the staff. Her face flushed just slightly.

‎"You idiot. Megumi said you fought Sukuna again?."

‎"Yeah."

‎"And you won?"

‎"Survived. Different thing."

‎She stared at him. Searching for something.

‎Shinra held her gaze. The EMS let him see her CE flow faint, almost nonexistent, but there. The woman with no cursed energy still had something. Just not enough.

‎"Alright alright," he said. "Can't happen again, I promise."

‎"You can't promise that."

‎"I just did."

‎Maki opened her mouth to argue. He cut her off.

‎"By the way. Got you a gift. Being delivered in like... five minutes."

‎She frowned. "A gift? I don't need"

‎"It's a Grade 1 Naginata, Maki. Made of conductive alloy. Won't break, no matter how hard you hit." He shrugged. "Figured you deserved something that wouldn't shatter when I look at it."

‎She stopped.

‎Looked at him.

‎Really looked.

‎The EMS spun in his eyes. He wasn't joking. He was looking at her like she was the most important thing in the world and he had the power to back it up.

‎"Why?" Her voice was barely a whisper.

‎Shinra stepped closer. Close enough to feel the heat off her skin.

‎"Because I'm the 'Instruction Manual Man,' Maki. And your manual says you're supposed to be a Queen." He reached out slowly, giving her time to move and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "I'm just providing the equipment."

‎Maki didn't swat his hand away.

‎She didn't move at all.

‎Just stood there, heart hammering against her ribs, wondering when the "broke transfer student" became the most dangerous and most confusing man in Japan.

‎A crow cawed overhead. Dropped a package at their feet.

‎The Heaven-Piercing Naginata. Wrapped in cloth. Waiting.

‎Shinra picked it up. Held it out to her.

‎"Yours. For when you're ready to start training with me, and if you complete the training I have something even more better than this for you."

‎Maki took it slowly. Her fingers wrapped around the handle. Tested the weight. The balance.

‎She looked up at him.

‎"I'm going to surpass you."

‎"Sure..."

‎---

‎That night, Shinra sat in his room, counting zero fucks and approximately 208 million yen.

‎The window slid open.

‎Gojo Satoru leaned against the frame like he owned it. Which, technically, he owned most things.

‎"Nice eyes," he said. His Six Eyes were definitely analyzing the EMS again. "They're almost as pretty as mine. Almost."

‎"Where's Yuji?"

‎"Safe. Hiding in the basement. He's going to 'train' with some movies and a cursed doll." Gojo paused. "But he's bored. And he's weak. He needs someone who can push him without accidentally killing him."

‎Shinra didn't turn around. "You want me to spar with him."

‎"I want you to be his trainer, Shinra-kun." Gojo's voice was light, but the words weren't. "The higher-ups think you're a loyal dog. I know you're something else entirely." He grinned. "So. What do you say? Want to help me raise a kid together...?"

‎Shinra thought about it. About Yuji and everything coming.

‎He smiled.

‎"Bet."
