Chapter 62 - The Place That Exists in Both Worlds

Mira didn't sleep again.

She sat near the window, watching the sky slowly turn from dark to light.

Her mind was still stuck on his last message.

"What if the next time we meet… we remember everything?"

Everything.

The word felt heavy.

What did "everything" even mean?

More dreams?

More memories?

Or something she wasn't ready to face?

Her phone rested quietly beside her.

She picked it up.

Typed.

"Let's meet."

The reply came almost instantly.

"The rooftop?"

Her heart skipped.

That place again.

The place that now felt more than just real.

"Yes," she typed.

A pause.

Then—

"Today."

Evening came faster than she expected.

Mira stood in front of the building.

The same one.

The one she had drawn ten years ago.

The one she had dreamed about last night.

Her fingers tightened slightly around her bag.

"This place…" she whispered.

It didn't feel normal anymore.

It felt… familiar in a deeper way.

Like she didn't just know it—

Like she belonged to it.

She walked inside.

The elevator ride felt longer than usual.

Every second made her heart beat faster.

Ding.

The doors opened.

She stepped out.

And slowly walked toward the rooftop door.

Her hand paused on the handle.

For a moment—

She hesitated.

"What if everything changes after this?" she whispered.

But something inside her pushed her forward.

She opened the door.

The rooftop looked the same.

The bench.

The railing.

The open sky.

And him.

Standing near the edge.

He turned as soon as he heard the door.

Their eyes met.

And for a second—

Everything felt still.

Like time had paused just for them.

"You came," he said softly.

Mira nodded.

"You too."

A small silence settled between them.

But it wasn't awkward.

It felt… heavy.

Like both of them knew something was about to happen.

She walked closer.

Her eyes scanning the rooftop.

"This place feels different," she said.

He nodded slightly.

"I was thinking the same."

She looked at him.

"Different how?"

He hesitated.

Then said quietly—

"Like I've been here more times than I remember."

Mira's heart skipped.

Because she felt it too.

She turned slowly.

Looking at the bench.

The exact bench from her drawing.

From her dream.

From her memory.

"I saw this place last night," she said.

He didn't look surprised.

"I know."

She looked at him quickly.

"You do?"

He nodded.

"I saw it too."

A chill ran through her body.

Same place.

Same dream.

Same feeling.

She took a slow breath.

"Then this means…" she whispered.

He finished her sentence.

"This place connects everything."

Mira looked around again.

The sky above them looked normal.

But something felt… off.

The air.

The silence.

Everything felt slightly heavier.

As if something invisible was present.

Watching.

Waiting.

"Mira."

His voice pulled her back.

She turned toward him.

He was standing closer now.

Closer than before.

"Do you feel that?" he asked.

Her heart started racing again.

"Yes."

He looked around slowly.

"It's like…"

He paused.

Then said—

"Like this place exists somewhere else too."

Mira's breath caught.

Because that was exactly what she was feeling.

Not just one place.

But two.

Overlapping.

Reality.

And something else.

Her eyes slowly moved to the corner of the rooftop.

And suddenly—

She froze.

Because for a split second—

She saw something.

Not clearly.

Just a glimpse.

Two figures.

Standing near the bench.

In the exact same place.

But they weren't them.

Or maybe—

They were.

From another time.

Mira blinked.

And the vision disappeared.

Her heart pounded wildly.

"Did you see that?" she whispered.

He didn't answer immediately.

But his expression changed.

Slowly—

He nodded.

"Yes."

Her breath stopped.

"You saw it too?"

He looked at her.

Serious.

Focused.

"Two people," he said quietly.

Mira's chest tightened.

"Near the bench."

Her hands trembled slightly.

"Yes."

Silence.

Heavy.

Unexplainable.

Because that meant—

They weren't imagining things.

This place…

Was showing them something.

Not just memories.

But moments.

From somewhere else.

Her voice came out softly.

"Was that us?"

He didn't answer immediately.

But the look in his eyes said everything.

He stepped closer.

Closer than ever before.

And said quietly—

"I think it was."

Mira's heart pounded.

Because if that was true—

Then this rooftop wasn't just a place.

It was a connection.

Between timelines.

Between memories.

Between lives.

Her eyes slowly lifted to meet his.

"What are we supposed to do now?" she whispered.

He looked at her.

Calm.

But serious.

Then said something that made her heart stop.

"Stay."

She blinked.

"Stay?"

He nodded.

"Maybe if we stay long enough…"

A pause.

Then—

"We'll see more."

Mira felt a mix of fear and curiosity rise inside her.

Because she knew—

If they stayed—

They might finally see the truth.

But that truth…

Might change everything.
