It was the first period, but the teacher had yet to come to class.
Zi Han looked outside the window, the conversation from last night still playing in her head.
"I want something in return."
She had carefully watched as the relief on his face vanished, changing into something more careful. A small frown formed between his brows.
"What is it?" he said.
Zi Han took a deep breath before answering.
"I want support for my research."
Ming Chen's brows knit together slightly.
"Research?"
"Yes."
Zi Han kept her voice calm and steady. "I'm interested in pursuing medical research in the future, specifically in neuroregeneration. I've already started reading and compiling materials, but serious research requires resources."
Ming Chen leaned back slightly in his chair, studying her with more attention now.
"What kind of resources?"
"Funding," Zi Han said without hesitation. "Not an unlimited amount, just enough to purchase equipment, journals, and laboratory access if necessary."
