"Hmm, I blocked it but now my arm is broken and I got blown away regardless. Her offensive abilities are impressive." The man thought as he pushed his glasses up. "Very well, I should start taking this seriously then." He said as he pulled out his book.
The glasses man and the woman exchanged blows but the woman's strikes were easily dodged as he knew exactly where they would be coming from. He was then able to easily counter with strikes of his own.
"It doesn't matter how powerful your attacks are if you can't hit me with them. Just give up and turn yourself in. I'll give you some advice, my name is Lieutenant Hanz Frankz I am an administrative assistant for Great General Toro Fernandez. My combat ability is considered very low in comparison to the rest of the Vercheg military officers." Hanz said.
"So what's your point?" The woman asked.
"If you can't see the point for yourself then your ambitions really are hopeless." Hanz said with a sigh. "Very well, I'll be even more clear for you. If you can't even defeat me then you haven't even the slightest chance of defeating the legendary hero, Great General Toro. He would have killed you in an instant. If your goal is to kill him then you should just give up now."
"Her goal is to kill Great General Toro?" The man who just arrived thought to himself. The man was a tall and athletic young man with red spiky hair, who wore sleek goggles and a long black trench coat.
"Like I said you don't have any proof that I'm here to do anything!" She shouted as she rushed forward for another attack.
"How absurd, I have all the proof I need right here." Hanz said as he opened his book again. "What?" Something he read in his book startled him.
As the two we're throwing punches at each other, the red haired man swooped in and tried to catch both punches but both ended up hitting him in the face and he was knocked way and crashed into a building beside them.
The two looked at the crater where the man landed with puzzled expressions. He then stood up, dusted himself off, and started to walk back towards them.
"Oof, that's embarrassing. Anyway like I was trying to say, why don't we just settle down and talk things out." The man said as he rubbed the back of his head.
"No way I'm going to rip this guy apart!" The woman shouted.
"I'm afraid that's impossible. I must take this woman into custody." Hanz replied.
"Fine then I guess I'll have to take things onto my own hands." The man said with a serious expression. Hanz seemed apprehensive at the prospect of this man unleashing an attack. In an instant, he threw the woman over his shoulder. "And run away!" He said as he leapt into the air with the woman slung over his shoulder.
"Hey what are you doing? Put me down!" She protested, but in the blink of an eye they were gone.
Hanz was now standing alone in the deserted town square and looking into his book.
"If that man truly is who my book says he is then I shouldn't pursue carelessly." He thought to himself. "I can't imagine what would drive a young woman like that to try to kill Great General Toro. In any case I should keep this incident to myself. I don't need to read in my book to know what the general would say if he learned that someone was out to kill him."
"Bahaha!!! Someone's out to kill me? Good! Maybe if they can't kill me they could at least kill my boredom! Bahaha!! I feel like I haven't had a good fight in ages!" Hanz imagined what the general would say.
"No, it's best to deal with this as discreetly as possible." Hanz thought to himself.
Meanwhile, the red haired man had taken the woman far away.
"Let go of me! Put me down!" She shouted.
"Yeah that should be far enough away." He said as he put her down.
"What's your problem? Why did you take me away from there?" She asked.
"Here, calm down and drink some of this." He said as he pulled out a thermos filled with green liquid. She looked apprehensive about his offer. "Don't worry. If I wanted to hurt you I had far more opportunities before this didn't I?"
She eventually grabbed a cup and took a drink. It was a steaming liquid but strangely enough it was cold and refreshing. She had a clear look of surprise on her face.
"Ha! I bet you thought it was going to be hot. You find interesting stuff like this when you travel across the universe. Now it's polite to start a conversation by introducing yourself. Would you mind telling me your name?" He asked.
"You first." She said curtly.
"Right of course, where are my manners? My name is Ren." He said.
"Leona. Leona Tearheart." She replied.
"Ah what a lovely name. It suits you." Ren said cheerfully. "Now, I am curious about what the glasses guy said about you wanting to kill Great General Toro." He said as he shifted to a more serious tone.
"What's it to you?" Leona asked as she clenched her fist and prepared for combat.
"Relax I'm just curious why a nice girl like you would set out for such an unsavory reason." Ren said with a smile.
"That man. He killed my family. He slaughtered my entire village."
