Aarushi's POV
The streetlights flickered as Aarushi walked beside Ananya.
The night air was cool, carrying the distant noise of traffic and late-night shops closing. Aarushi swung her bag over her shoulder and stretched her arms.
"Today was fun," she said.
Ananya looked at her with disbelief.
"Fun? You literally fought with three seniors."
"They were bullying first-years," Aarushi said.
"Someone had to say something."
Ananya sighed.
"You're impossible."
Aarushi grinned.
"Admit it. You love that about me."
They continued walking along the quiet roadside.
For a moment everything felt normal.
Peaceful.
Then Aarushi heard it.
A loud engine.
She turned her head.
A motorcycle was speeding toward them.
Fast.
Too fast.
Ananya frowned.
"Why is he riding like that?"
The bike didn't slow down.
Instead it moved closer.
Closer.
Straight toward them.
Aarushi's heartbeat suddenly spiked.
Something about that biker felt wrong.
Not dangerous.
Not unfamiliar.
Just... too familiar.
As Aarushi stepped onto the road that night, she had no idea that the next few seconds would change everything.
A scream.
A flash of headlights.
And a pair of eyes she had seen once before... long ago.
But the most terrifying part?
She wouldn't remember where.
"Ananya..." she whispered.
The motorcycle roared louder.
"Move!" Ananya shouted.
Ananya jumped back.
But Aarushi froze for one terrible second.
The bike slammed into her.
Pain exploded through her body.
The world spun violently.
Then everything went dark.
But as Aarushi slowly lost consciousness on the cold road, one thought flickered through her mind.
Those eyes...
She knew them.
