"Goodbye, Kryptonian Superman!"
A soldier of the Kree Empire shouted as he charged forward. In his hand he carried a spear-like weapon, its blade glowing with a sinister green light that unmistakably revealed the mineral embedded within it.
Kryptonite.
He was not the only one.
The Kree warriors surrounding Ethan rushed in from every direction, their eyes blazing with excitement as if each of them hoped to claim the kill personally.
"Die!"
The soldier thrust the spear forward with all his strength.
Hum!
The weapon flashed through the void, its green glow casting an eerie light across Ethan's body. From a distance it looked as if the Kryptonian had been completely swallowed by the radiation of kryptonite.
Ethan did not move.
Bathed in the green light, his figure remained perfectly still, as if frozen in place by the deadly mineral.
Yet the expression on his face told a different story.
The sharp lines of his handsome features were relaxed, and a faint smile lingered on his lips. His eyes carried an unmistakable hint of amusement as he watched the Kree warriors rushing toward him.
"So this is what you're relying on?" he asked calmly.
Clang!
A metallic impact echoed across the battlefield.
The sound came from the moment the kryptonite blade struck Ethan's body.
Even the battle-hardened Kree soldiers struggled to comprehend what they had just heard. A blade slamming into someone's body should have produced the dull sound of flesh being pierced.
Instead, the noise resembled steel striking steel.
But what happened next shocked them even more.
Crack!
The spearhead pressed against Ethan's chest for only a brief moment before thin fractures began spreading across the weapon's surface.
Within seconds—
The cracks widened.
The kryptonite blade shattered completely.
Fragments scattered through the void as the weapon disintegrated in the soldier's hands.
The sheer durability of Ethan's body was beyond imagination. Even a weapon enhanced with kryptonite could not withstand the hardness of his Kryptonian physiology.
"Impossible!"
"How can this be happening?"
Panicked shouts erupted from the surrounding Kree soldiers.
Moments earlier they had been brimming with confidence, convinced that kryptonite guaranteed their victory. Now they stared in disbelief at the shattered weapons in their hands.
And at the completely unharmed Kryptonian standing before them.
"Why… why isn't kryptonite working?" someone whispered.
Their confidence collapsed instantly.
Wasn't kryptonite supposed to be the ultimate weakness of Kryptonian Supermen?
Why hadn't it weakened him?
There was not even a scratch on his body.
"Who told you kryptonite works on me?"
Ethan smiled faintly as he looked at them.
A cracked piece of the green mineral floated near him. He reached out casually and caught the fragment in his palm, examining its glowing surface.
Kryptonite was indeed a radioactive mineral.
The faint green radiation that radiated from it was lethal to most Kryptonian Supermen.
But it had no effect on him.
The reason was simple.
After his defense ability reached an advanced level, he had unlocked a special trait.
Kryptonite immunity.
The mineral that could cripple ordinary Kryptonian heroes was nothing more than an ordinary stone to Ethan Drake.
"A clever weapon," Ethan said softly.
His eyes suddenly sharpened.
"But also a very insidious one."
A trace of killing intent appeared in his gaze. He flicked his fingers lightly, sending the fragment of kryptonite flying outward with terrifying speed.
Whoosh!
The tiny shard cut through space like a bullet.
In the distance, a Kree soldier holding a large kryptonite emitter collapsed instantly as the fragment pierced straight through his body.
The soldier died before he even realized what had happened.
"Damn it!" the surrounding Kree shouted in shock.
The tiny piece of mineral had become a deadly projectile in Ethan's hands.
Ethan smiled faintly.
"Since you came all this way, it would be rude not to send you all to the same destination."
The moment his words ended—
A terrifying ripple swept across the battlefield.
The vast starry sky seemed to distort. Even the background of empty space appeared to crack slightly as an invisible force spread outward.
What kind of power could tear through space itself?
For most of the Kree soldiers, that thought was their last.
"Spatial Shock."
Ethan threw a simple punch forward.
The movement looked almost casual.
But the shockwave that erupted from his fist carried unimaginable destructive force. The invisible impact surged outward like a tidal wave, tearing through everything in its path.
Boom!
The Kree warriors directly in front of him exploded into clouds of blood mist.
Their bodies were obliterated instantly.
"No… fall back!" someone screamed.
The devastating attack shattered the remaining Kree soldiers' morale.
Their greatest weapon—kryptonite—had proven useless. That realization crushed their confidence completely.
If kryptonite couldn't stop him, then this enemy was truly unstoppable.
The surviving soldiers activated their flight engines and attempted to flee, pushing their equipment to maximum output as they desperately tried to escape the nightmare behind them.
Yet even in that chaos, the discipline of the Kree military still showed itself.
Several soldiers pulled back to form defensive positions, raising their weapons and firing at Ethan in an effort to cover their retreat.
"No retreat!" Ronan roared.
The Accuser smashed his hammer downward, killing a fleeing soldier instantly.
Every plan he had prepared had been shattered. The operation had collapsed into disaster, and Ronan now looked like a gambler who had lost everything.
Driven into desperation, he was consumed by rage.
He would kill the Kryptonian in front of him—or die trying.
Under his command, the Kree soldiers reorganized their formation. Even the surviving warships began charging their weapons again, unleashing beam attacks toward Ethan's position.
But the Kryptonian hovered in space like a god of death.
He allowed the fleet's attacks to strike his body without concern.
Then he began moving.
His figure blurred across the battlefield with terrifying speed. To the Kree soldiers it looked as though he were teleporting from one position to another.
Each movement ended with another death.
"Ahhh!"
Boom!
A Kree warrior exploded into a cloud of blood as Ethan's fist struck him. Compared to the Kryptonian's overwhelming strength, their bodies were as fragile as paper.
Ethan carried no weapons.
He didn't need any.
His indestructible body was already the perfect weapon. Every punch he threw carried the destructive force of an artillery shell.
"Damn it… we can't fight him!" a Kree soldier shouted in despair.
Their forces were collapsing in seconds.
This battle had become meaningless.
The difference in strength was simply too great.
"It's hopeless!" another soldier cried. "Everyone run!"
The remaining Kree abandoned their pride as imperial warriors. Ignoring Ronan's furious commands, they scattered across the battlefield in desperate attempts to escape.
