Chapter 27 - Chapter 27

"Heh, how about we skip that topic for now?"

"To some extent, we're actually on the same side. Let me introduce myself first. I'm Charlie Alex, Executive President of Johnson & Johnson. This is Francis Henry, Executive President of Pfizer, Robert Modis, Executive President of Merck, and the one you just knocked over, Alfred Gerard, Executive President of AbbVie Biopharmaceuticals... The reason we came today is actually because we have a favor to ask of you."

Looking at the mockery written all over Killian's face, even Alex could not help feeling a surge of anger in his heart.

Still, he suppressed it well and showed none of it on the surface. Instead, he continued smiling at Killian as he spoke.

"A favor to ask of me?"

"Let's hear it."

After hearing Alex's words, Killian suddenly became interested. He pulled over a chair from inside the house, sat himself down right in front of the doorway, crossed his legs, and asked with an easy, leisurely expression.

And when the others saw that Killian, even after learning who they were, still acted like this, not even inviting them inside, but instead dragging a chair over and sitting there by himself, they were all stunned.

These were giants of the American pharmaceutical industry.

It could be said they already stood at the very top of America.

Wherever they went, people greeted them with smiles and treated them with extreme care.

When had they ever encountered someone this arrogant?

Yet Killian had shattered their understanding.

Even the bodyguards standing not far away could not help inwardly remarking on how bold he was.

And Alex, who stood at the center, gave Killian a long look, a trace of malice flashing through his eyes before vanishing.

Even so, the smile on his face remained.

He lightly snapped his fingers, and at once the female secretary beside him skillfully took out a proposal from her handbag.

"Mr. Killian, there's no denying that the Baymax created by your company is truly a milestone in the history of technology. It would not even be an exaggeration to call it a miracle of the world. Whether it's the intelligent thinking comparable to that of humans, or the scanner capable of monitoring the human body in real time, both are enough to shock the world."

"And I believe both we and the public can clearly understand that in the near future, your company will absolutely become one of the few truly major corporations in the world."

Then the assistant stepped forward and respectfully handed the proposal to Killian. Only then did Alex continue speaking with a smile.

"However, one thing that must be said is that from the perspective of professional company development, your company still has significant shortcomings, whether in publicity planning or in its global sales network."

"And most importantly, from the way your company initially promoted Baymax as a medical robot, including treatment and medical advice, it's clear that your company intends to turn Baymax into a true medical intelligent robot. But if you want to move into the pharmaceutical and medical field, then I believe that your company's strength alone is absolutely not enough. I'm not boasting."

"Every medical company represented here has gone through decades of development and investments reaching into the hundreds of billions to achieve its current scale. That also means that if Baymax wants to go further, then it needs help."

"And if, at this moment, your company could cooperate with one or several of the world's largest and most authoritative pharmaceutical companies, gaining their medical equipment technology sharing along with medical data..."

"Then I believe your company's Baymax intelligent robot would truly become a real medical robot. And with us involved, Baymax's market access approval from the FDA would also become extremely convenient."

"You should know that our nation, based on its people-first principles, is extremely strict in terms of approvals related to healthcare. At minimum, that process would take several years, especially since your company has no previous track record in that field."

"That means the time required would be even longer. And for a company trying to grow, time is absolutely the deadliest factor. It can greatly hinder the healthy growth of an enterprise. So to put it honestly, if your company can cooperate with experienced medical corporations like ours, then not only can a truly medical Baymax be developed rapidly, it can also be promoted across the entire world at a speed several times, even dozens of times faster than now. And as for profit, I guarantee it will exceed your current returns by hundreds of times."

After reaching that point, Alex glanced at Killian, only to realize that not a single word he had spoken had moved him in the slightest.

Killian had not even bothered to respond.

Alex frowned slightly, but still shifted the topic and continued speaking at length about his vision for the future cooperation between their companies.

"So the real purpose of your visit today is cooperation?"

After listening to Alex's speech, Killian casually flipped through the proposal in his hand and asked in a flat tone.

If they had come looking for him before yesterday, then Killian really might have been willing to talk.

After all, the strength of the pharmaceutical companies behind them was indeed formidable in America. If the two sides cooperated, then just as Alex had said, there would be benefits for Killian and virtually no downsides.

But unfortunately for them, Killian now had a bigger pillar behind him.

Just as they were preparing to cooperate with him from the business side, he had already backed himself with the government, directly defining himself through legislation.

Medical approval would take years?

A new medical bill could appear and have him approved in an instant.

Global expansion would be slow?

A new diplomatic bill could be introduced, and the government could subsidize the company and help open its sales channels.

And this was not just wishful thinking on Killian's part.

These were all things he had already discussed yesterday in his talks with old Kennedy.

In other words, at least half of the American government was already his backer.

And compared to that, a mere business alliance was something Killian simply could not bring himself to care about.

Not to mention there was that idiot teammate among them. He was worried their stupidity might start rubbing off on him.

"That's right. Cooperation."

"And for that, I, along with the three pharmaceutical executives beside me, representing our respective companies, have already drafted a preliminary cooperation agreement."

"In order to carry forward the glorious image of our pharmaceutical companies, benefiting the people, freeing them from the suffering of disease, and giving back to society, our four medical institutions have jointly decided to establish a Future Medicine Foundation together."

"The total joint investment will be fifty billion dollars, which will be used to invest into AIM."

"As for equity, we only require seventy percent of the shares, just enough to hold controlling interest. After all, we also need to answer to our own companies. But you can rest assured that you would still remain the CEO of AIM, fully responsible for all of the company's development and direction."
