Chapter 26 - Chapter 26

And the weight carried by an executive president was second only to the chairman and the board of directors.

It could be said that in a feudal empire, that kind of position would already be equivalent to the prime minister standing below the ruler.

And each of these companies was basically worth hundreds of billions.

For people at that level to come knocking on his door in person, even Killian had to admit it was impressive.

But it also made him feel a trace of unease.

After all, this was the Marvel world, where all kinds of terrorist groups, spy organizations, and superpowered individuals were intertwined.

This time, the people who found him were only representatives from a few pharmaceutical companies, and they had not come with malicious intent.

But what about next time?

What if armed men showed up with firearms?

To say that was impossible would be ridiculous.

In America, if a gang did not have at least a few rifles, they would be too embarrassed to even call themselves criminals.

And it was from this moment onward that Killian realized his security problem needed to be addressed in advance.

...

The next morning, early.

Just as Killian finished making breakfast and was preparing to head to the company, he heard several cars pull up and stop outside his house.

"Baymax, alert mode."

Standing by the window and pulling the curtain aside just enough to see that the visitors were the same pharmaceutical representatives who had come by yesterday, Killian relaxed slightly, but still gave the order to Baymax, who was resting in its charging case nearby.

"Understood. Alert mode activated."

The moment Baymax heard Killian's command, it immediately inflated and rose from its charging case. Then the white eyes it normally had instantly shifted into blue light.

This was an expansion Killian had made to Baymax's intelligent chip.

After inputting various combat systems such as judo, taekwondo, tai chi, close-quarters striking, and military hand-to-hand combat, he had also loaded firearm data into it, creating a home defense chip.

Under Baymax's originally soft inflated skin, he had also built in 120 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, ensuring that when necessary, they could be fired immediately from the ports in its palms.

At the same time, combined with Baymax's scanning ability, it could guarantee devastating strikes against enemies carrying weapons the moment they were identified.

The only regrettable part was that Baymax was still too fat in the end, making it unsuitable for close personal protection.

And the material on its body was still only made from ordinary industrial products, nowhere near as durable as military-grade materials.

Otherwise, Killian would have considered turning Baymax into an actual bodyguard robot.

And in just that short moment, the pharmaceutical representatives outside had already reached Killian's front door and knocked.

Although they were trying to suppress their emotions, Killian could still hear their dissatisfaction in the sound of the knocking.

"Damn it, this is so humiliating. Coming here this early to visit some country bumpkin living in a place like this. He really thinks he's somebody. And he made us come twice."

Just as Killian was about to open the door, he suddenly heard that impatient complaint from outside.

Clearly, one of the visitors had said it.

And the instant Killian heard those words, his eyes narrowed sharply, and a cold light flashed within them.

"Gerard, shut up a little..."

Before the person outside could even finish speaking, a burst of force suddenly slammed across the front, and the Gerard who had been standing at the door knocking was sent flying backward by the door.

Bang!

The tightly shut front door was violently thrown open, and the collision with a body produced a loud crashing sound.

Faced with this sudden turn of events, everyone outside froze.

The entire scene seemed to have been locked in place.

And it was only when Gerard let out a series of miserable screams that the several bodyguards nearby finally came back to their senses and rushed over to help him up.

Two of the bodyguards who belonged to Gerard even moved their hands toward their waists, but Alex, standing at the front, stopped them in time.

"Don't act rashly!!"

"Gerard, are you alright?"

Looking at the scene on the verge of spiraling out of control, Alex, as the organizer of this meeting, immediately called out to Gerard, who had fallen face-first onto the ground and now had half his face scraped raw.

One had to remember that the courtyard in front of Killian's house was cement, and Gerard had been blasted forward face-first.

The fact that he had not been completely disfigured already counted as good luck.

"Heh. So early in the morning, I thought some dog had gotten loose and was barking outside my door. Turns out it was actually a person."

Looking at the miserable figure sprawled on the ground, Killian sneered, his lips curling with mockery.

"You! Little bastard, do you know who I am?!"

"You, get him! Beat him to death for me!!"

Looking at Killian, who had deliberately made him look so pathetic, Alfred Gerard could no longer hold back.

He had always considered himself part of high society. In his eyes, merely coming here to meet a low-class person like Killian was already lowering his own status.

And now, after being humiliated like this, there was no way he could swallow it.

After hearing their employer shout that, Gerard's bodyguards no longer held back. Although they did not draw guns, they still all stepped forward, ready to teach Killian a lesson.

Seeing this, Alex could not help feeling helpless.

To be honest, if it were not for the forces standing behind Gerard, Alex would never even have wanted to bring someone like him into this.

But the smarter executives from several other medical companies had refused to join them, and in order to strengthen his bargaining chips, Alex had no choice but to bring Gerard along.

And he had not expected things to go wrong right from the start, and all because of that mouth.

Still, he could not allow the situation to continue escalating.

So after giving a subtle signal to his own bodyguards,

they instantly understood and moved behind the bodyguards who were preparing to trouble Killian.

Then, in only a few quick moves, they knocked all of them unconscious and, with practiced efficiency, dragged them off to the roadside.

Seeing this, Gerard, still lying on the ground, grew so furious that his chest heaved violently.

A few seconds later, he fainted on the spot.

The nearby bodyguards, seeing that, wisely helped him up and carried him toward the car.

Unlike the way they had handled the unconscious guards, they did not dare drag their boss like that. The entire process was extremely careful.

"Sorry, Mr. Killian. I can guarantee that what just happened was only a misunderstanding. And President Gerard definitely will not pursue this matter afterward."

After dealing with Gerard's side, Alex finally turned around, wearing an apologetic expression that was clearly just for show as he looked at Killian and spoke.

"Oh? Then should I perhaps also apologize to him, and thank him for not making an issue out of barking wildly outside my home first thing in the morning?"

After hearing Alex's words, Killian raised an eyebrow and said.
