"It succeeded!"
The moment the researchers saw the black gorilla open its eyes safely, everyone in the lab could not help but cry out in excitement.
Still, that was all they allowed themselves to do.
Because they all knew that further testing was still necessary.
"Boss."
Not far away, after seeing the black gorilla wake up, Samuel looked toward Killian for instructions. After getting a nod from him, he waved his hand.
At once, two Blackwatch members in high-grade protective suits entered the chamber and, using the restraint tools that had already been prepared, forcibly pinned the gorilla down despite its violent struggle.
"Its strength has increased across the board."
Watching the gorilla's performance inside the isolation chamber, Killian suddenly said.
"Yeah. Before, even a single security guard could easily subdue it. I didn't expect that now even with two people on it, it still looks like it might break free."
"And most importantly, it still retains normal awareness."
After hearing Killian's words, Samuel nodded in agreement.
There was also one more important point Samuel did not say out loud.
These security personnel specially recruited by the boss were physically much stronger than any regular military troops he had seen before.
Soon after, once the gorilla was fully restrained, another team of researchers entered the chamber and began drawing blood, running tests, and observing its fur and other vital signs.
The entire process strictly followed complete viral isolation procedures.
No one dared show even the slightest carelessness.
Because before this, one research team had already carried out a biological experiment without authorization, and worse, had started it without any security personnel present.
The result was obvious.
The organism inside the lab went berserk on the spot, and none of the researchers in that room survived.
Because of that incident, Samuel, as the person in charge, had even been demoted by the company for poor oversight.
And it was precisely because of that lesson that from then on, every research team treated quarantine, protection, and safety work with extreme seriousness.
Because they all understood one thing now.
If they ignored the rules and something went wrong, people would really die.
...
A few hours later, in the laboratory, Killian watched Samuel rush in with an excited expression on his face and immediately understood that the experiment had likely truly succeeded.
"Boss, according to the experimental data we collected, research on one of the many viruses extracted from the Stairway of the Sun, the T-type Virus, has perfectly enhanced the test subject's body."
"And the telomerase in its cells has been significantly extended compared to before the experiment. Its rate of division and depletion has also been optimized dozens of times over."
"That means it really can extend the host's lifespan."
"And compared to before, the test subject's physical abilities, including neural response, bodily strength, and wound healing, have all improved dramatically."
"Based on the current results, if an ordinary person were to be strengthened through T-Virus injection, they could directly become someone with the physique of a professionally trained soldier, possibly even stronger."
"It can be said that the T-Virus has completely optimized the DNA within a living organism."
"And most importantly, all the viruses we injected into the gorilla beforehand were completely eliminated by the T-Virus. In other words, with this, many diseases in the world will never again occur in humans."
"That includes SARS, avian influenza, and the kinds of terminal illnesses people fear most, Ebola, AIDS, tumors, and even cancer."
After obtaining the first batch of experimental data, Samuel excitedly reported everything to Killian.
After all, gorillas were the closest experimental subjects to humans. Since the test had succeeded on one, that meant the T-Virus should have the same effect when injected into a human body.
And by the time he reached the end, Samuel's face was already flushed with excitement.
One had to know that before this, in order to test the T-Virus's abilities as thoroughly as possible, they had gathered nearly every known virus they could obtain and injected them into the gorilla before the experiment.
Yet after the trial, none of those viruses could be detected anywhere inside the subject's body.
That alone showed how terrifying its curative power was.
And as the person mainly responsible for the Stairway of the Sun project, Samuel also knew that this was only one subsidiary research branch under the Stairway of the Sun.
Leaving aside the fact that under the T-Virus alone there were already three major divisions, medical application, bodily enhancement, and biological weaponry, the reason the T-Virus had advanced to biological experimentation so quickly was because the two departments had been separately responsible for their own research directions, then merging the data together.
And as the Stairway of the Sun was further developed, within just three months, the research team had already discovered several different alphabet-coded research directions from it.
It was only because the T-Virus branch had progressed especially rapidly lately, and because it was the boss's main priority, that Samuel himself had come over to oversee it.
Otherwise, there were other biological projects underway as well, and he simply would not have had the time.
Even so, the deeper his research went, the more the Stairway of the Sun shocked Samuel to the point of fear.
This was simply not something that felt like it belonged in the human world.
"Very good. Start human experimentation immediately. Run more comparative testing. I want to ensure it can be put on the market without the slightest risk."
"In addition, once the tests succeed, begin dividing its medical effectiveness into three levels, 1, 2, and 3, with the efficacy decreasing in that order."
"And the T-Virus currently in our laboratory will be designated T-0 level. It will mainly be sold internally and reserved only for the company's upper management."
"Understood?"
After hearing Samuel's report, Killian immediately gave his instructions.
If the full version of the T-Virus was released to the outside world, the shock would be enormous.
If Baymax had merely smashed the rice bowls of medical equipment companies around the world,
then the T-Virus would smash the rice bowls of every medical company in existence.
At that point, Killian could already imagine what would happen.
If the complete T-Virus were publicly released, then he would become the enemy of the whole world. Pharmaceutical companies would probably pool together trillion-dollar bounties to have him killed.
Although he was not afraid, there was also no reason to offend everyone all at once.
After all, this world was still extremely dangerous, both openly and in secret. There was no guarantee that some superpowered bounty hunter like Deadpool would not come after him just for that kind of money, and that would be an absurd way to die.
So until he had the ability to completely overpower the entire world, Killian had decided that keeping a low profile would remain his core principle.
And after settling the matter on the laboratory side, Killian then headed to the thirty-fifth floor.
The high-security laboratory that had been put into operation alongside the thirty-fourth floor.
