Chapter 12
The ancient temple was trembling like it was alive.
The air was filled with dust and glowing particles of blue and red energy. The powerful clash between Ran and Victor had shaken the entire structure.
Ran stood near the pedestal, breathing heavily. The blue energy around him moved like waves in the ocean.
Victor stood on the other side of the temple hall. Red energy burned around his body like dark fire.
The giant stone guardian stood between them.
For a moment, everything became silent.
Only the deep rumbling of the temple could be heard.
Mariya slowly walked toward Ran.
"Are you okay?" she asked softly.
Ran nodded.
"I'm fine… but Victor is getting stronger."
Victor suddenly laughed loudly.
"Stronger?" he said.
"I have already become something greater."
He lifted his hand.
The red energy around him grew bigger and darker.
The temple walls started shaking again.
The giant stone guardian suddenly stepped forward.
Its glowing eyes stared directly at Victor.
Victor looked at the creature with anger.
"You think you can stop me?"
The guardian raised its massive stone arm.
Then it attacked.
BOOOOM!
The guardian's fist struck the ground near Victor.
The entire temple shook.
Victor jumped back quickly.
He released a wave of red energy.
The attack hit the guardian's chest.
Pieces of stone broke from the guardian's body.
But the guardian kept moving.
Ran realized something important.
"The guardian will keep fighting until the temple is safe."
Mariya nodded.
"But Victor doesn't care about the temple."
Victor suddenly rushed forward.
His speed had become frightening.
In seconds he reached Ran.
Ran barely blocked his attack.
Blue energy and red energy exploded in the air.
The collision created a shockwave.
Broken stones flew across the hall.
Mariya stepped back to avoid the falling debris.
Victor attacked again and again.
Each strike became faster and stronger.
Ran struggled to block the attacks.
Victor smiled darkly.
"You cannot win."
Ran clenched his fists.
The blue energy around him suddenly became brighter.
The pedestal behind him started glowing strongly.
The ancient power inside the temple was reacting.
Mariya noticed it.
"Ran! The energy!"
Ran looked back.
The glowing sphere above the pedestal had started spinning slowly.
Blue light spread across the temple walls.
Ancient symbols began glowing everywhere.
The entire temple seemed to awaken.
Victor also noticed it.
His eyes became greedy again.
"That power is calling me."
He suddenly rushed toward the pedestal.
Ran quickly stepped in front of him.
"I won't let you touch it."
Victor attacked with full force.
Red energy burst from his hands.
Ran blocked the attack with blue energy.
The clash created another powerful explosion.
The temple shook violently.
At that moment something unexpected happened.
A deep rumbling sound came from beneath the temple floor.
The pedestal suddenly began moving.
Cracks appeared in the ground around it.
Mariya looked shocked.
"What is happening?"
The giant stone guardian suddenly stopped fighting.
It turned toward the pedestal.
The glowing lines on its body became brighter.
Ran felt the blue energy inside his body reacting again.
The ground split open slowly.
Under the pedestal, a hidden staircase began to appear.
Dust fell from the ancient stones.
The temple had revealed a secret chamber.
Victor stared at the opening with excitement.
"So this is it…"
"The hidden chamber."
Mariya looked nervous.
"Ran… this must be the real secret of the temple."
Victor laughed again.
"Yes."
"And soon it will belong to me."
Before anyone could stop him, Victor jumped toward the staircase.
He disappeared into the darkness below.
Ran looked at Mariya.
"We have to follow him."
Mariya nodded.
The two of them quickly ran toward the staircase.
The giant guardian watched them silently.
For a moment, it did not move.
Then slowly it began walking toward the hidden chamber as well.
Ran and Mariya stepped down the ancient stairs.
The air became colder and darker.
Blue symbols glowed faintly on the walls.
The staircase seemed endless.
Finally they reached a massive underground hall.
It was even older than the temple above.
Ancient pillars stood in a circular pattern.
In the center of the chamber was a strange crystal structure.
It glowed with deep blue light.
Victor stood in front of it.
He looked like he had found the greatest treasure in the world.
"This is it," Victor said slowly.
"The true heart of the temple."
Ran stepped forward.
"Stay away from it."
Victor turned and smiled.
"You still don't understand."
"This power was always meant for my bloodline."
Mariya looked at the crystal carefully.
"Ran… the energy inside that crystal is even stronger."
Victor slowly raised his hands.
Red energy flowed toward the crystal.
The crystal reacted immediately.
Blue light exploded across the chamber.
The entire underground hall shook violently.
Ran realized the truth.
"Victor is trying to absorb the temple's core power."
Mariya whispered in fear.
"If he succeeds… the temple might collapse."
Victor laughed wildly.
"Then let it collapse!"
"All that matters is power!"
The crystal's light became brighter and brighter.
Energy filled the underground chamber.
Ran felt the blue power inside his body calling him again.
The ancient temple had chosen its protector.
And the final battle was about to begin.
The Core of the Temple
The underground chamber was enormous.
The ceiling was so high that it disappeared into darkness. Ancient stone pillars surrounded the hall like silent guardians of history.
At the center of the chamber stood the massive blue crystal.
It glowed with a deep, powerful light.
Victor stood in front of it with excitement in his eyes.
"This is the heart of the temple," he whispered.
Ran and Mariya slowly stepped into the chamber.
Their footsteps echoed in the silent hall.
Ran stared at the glowing crystal.
He could feel the energy calling him.
It felt familiar… almost like the temple itself recognized him.
Mariya looked around nervously.
"This place feels different," she said quietly.
"The energy here is much stronger."
Victor slowly raised his hands toward the crystal.
Red energy flowed from his body like smoke.
"You don't understand what this power means," Victor said.
"This energy can change the world."
Ran stepped forward.
"Or destroy it."
Victor smiled.
"Power always destroys something."
"Only the strong survive."
Suddenly the giant stone guardian entered the chamber.
Its heavy footsteps shook the floor.
Victor turned toward it.
"So you followed us."
The guardian stopped near the crystal.
Its glowing eyes looked at Ran.
For a moment the chamber became silent.
Then something unexpected happened.
The crystal suddenly glowed brighter.
Blue energy waves spread across the chamber.
Ran felt the energy reacting to his presence.
The symbols on the walls started glowing.
Mariya looked at Ran with surprise.
"Ran… the crystal is reacting to you."
Victor's eyes filled with anger.
"No… this power belongs to me!"
He rushed toward the crystal.
Red energy burst from his body.
Ran moved quickly to block him.
Blue and red energy clashed again.
The collision filled the chamber with light.
Victor attacked again and again.
Each strike was stronger than before.
Ran struggled to hold his ground.
Suddenly Mariya felt something strange.
The blue light from the crystal began moving toward her.
She gasped.
"Ran… the energy is coming to me."
The light surrounded her hands.
Ancient symbols appeared on her arms.
Victor froze in shock.
"What is this?"
Mariya looked at her glowing hands.
"I… don't know."
The guardian suddenly knelt.
Not in front of Victor.
But in front of Mariya.
Ran looked stunned.
"The guardian… recognizes you."
Victor's face twisted with rage.
"This is impossible!"
He attacked again with full power.
Red energy exploded across the chamber.
Ran blocked the attack.
But the shockwave pushed him backward.
Victor rushed toward Mariya.
"If the power chose you… then I will take it from you!"
Mariya stepped back.
The crystal behind her glowed even brighter.
Suddenly a beam of blue light shot from the crystal.
It connected with Mariya.
Her eyes began glowing with ancient energy.
Ran stared in amazement.
"The temple has chosen its protectors."
Victor screamed in anger.
"No!"
He attacked again.
But this time the guardian moved.
The giant stone creature blocked Victor's path.
Its massive arm struck the ground.
Victor was thrown backward.
The chamber trembled violently.
The crystal's power was growing stronger.
Ran realized something important.
"The temple is awakening completely."
Mariya looked at the crystal.
"The temple is protecting itself."
Victor slowly stood up again.
His red energy burned even stronger now.
"This isn't over."
Ran stepped forward beside Mariya.
Blue energy surrounded both of them.
The guardian stood behind them like a mountain.
Victor smiled darkly.
"If the temple chose you…"
"Then I will destroy the temple itself."
The final battle had only just begun.
