Chapter 38 — The Fall of Krypton

The war between Krypton and Daxam lasted longer than anyone expected.

It was brutal.

Planetary defense arrays fired without rest.

Orbital fleets clashed in endless waves.

Cities trembled beneath constant bombardment.

The Daxamites had committed everything they had to the war. They knew Krypton had just endured a devastating civil conflict, and they intended to destroy their ancient rivals while they were weakened.

For months, the skies above Krypton burned.

Daxamite warships unleashed massive city-level cannons, striking planetary defense systems, military facilities, and even civilian infrastructure.

Each blast sent shockwaves through the planet.

But the Kryptonians were not a race that surrendered easily.

The House of Zod commanded the war effort with ruthless efficiency.

The House of El developed countermeasures and advanced weapons.

The House of Ze reinforced the planetary defense grid.

Slowly…

Relentlessly…

Krypton pushed the invaders back.

In the end—

Krypton won.

But victory came at a terrible cost.

The damage to the planet was catastrophic.

Constant bombardment from Daxamite planetary cannons had destabilized Krypton's planetary core.

Even worse…

The planet had begun to lose its rotational stability.

For the first time in its history, Krypton's rotation slowed.

Then stopped.

The consequences were unimaginable.

Deep beneath the planet's crust, pressure built violently within the unstable core.

The Elder Council finally understood the truth.

Krypton was dying.

But instead of revealing the truth to the population…

They chose vengeance.

A secret fleet was launched toward the Daxamite home system.

Hidden aboard their warships was a device no one else knew about.

A device originally created by Von-Ra El.

The Core Stabilizing Device.

But the Elders did not use it to stabilize.

They used it to destroy.

When the fleet reached Daxam…

The device was activated.

Instead of reinforcing the planetary core, it violently destabilized it.

The planet of Daxam began collapsing from the inside.

The Daxamites realized what was happening far too late.

Their world shattered.

Some of them managed to escape into space.

But their civilization…

Their home…

Their planet…

Was gone.

The Elders had achieved their revenge.

Daxam was erased from the galaxy.

After returning to Krypton, the Council attempted to use the same device to restore Krypton's rotation.

For a brief moment…

The planet moved again.

But it was already too late.

The damage to the core was beyond repair.

The planet's destruction had become inevitable.

Still…

The Council hid the truth.

Only the noble houses were told what would eventually happen.

To the public, everything appeared normal.

But time was running out.

Three years later.

The day arrived that would change Krypton forever.

It was the day Kal-El was born.

And the day Krypton would die.

Inside the estate of the House of El, alarms echoed through the halls.

Cracks had begun appearing across the planet's surface.

Entire districts were collapsing.

The sky itself seemed to tremble.

In the command chamber, Jor-El spoke urgently.

"General Zod."

Dru-Zod stepped forward.

"We need to secure the Codex."

Jor-El's voice was tense.

"But I will need a diversion."

Zod nodded without hesitation.

"Then I will be the diversion."

"Secure the Codex."

Outside the estate, massive cracks split the ground.

Buildings collapsed.

Thousands of Kryptonians ran through the streets in panic.

Children cried.

Families screamed for help.

But even in the face of planetary destruction…

The Council continued interfering.

They blocked evacuation ships.

They limited access to rescue vessels.

They feared losing control—even now.

Inside the Genesis Chamber, Jor-El entered the nursery facility.

Rows of genetic pods glowed softly.

Within the system was Krypton's most valuable treasure.

The Codex.

The genetic archive of the entire Kryptonian race.

Jor-El carefully removed the core genetic matrix.

Moments later he returned to Zod.

"Is the Codex secure?" Zod asked.

"Yes."

Jor-El held the small crystal tightly.

Zod nodded.

"Good."

"I will cover your escape route."

He placed his fist against his chest.

"May Sun God Rao bless your endeavor."

Suddenly a furious voice echoed through the chamber.

"GENERAL ZOD!"

"JOR-EL!"

The Head Councilor stormed into the room.

"What have you done?!"

Zod stepped forward calmly.

"We did what must be done."

"For the survival of Krypton."

The Councilor's face twisted with rage.

Zod turned toward his soldiers.

"Faora."

"Nam."

"Jax."

He pointed toward Jor-El.

"Help him escape safely."

All three warriors saluted.

"Yes, Commander."

Elsewhere, inside the estate of Zor-El.

Young Kara clutched her mother tightly.

"Mom… I'm scared."

"Krypton is dying…"

Tears filled her eyes.

"It's been three years…"

"Brother still hasn't come home."

"I miss him…"

Alura gently hugged her daughter.

"We miss him too."

She knelt and held Kara's shoulders.

"But you must be strong."

She pointed toward a small spacecraft nearby.

"Get into the pod."

"Your uncle will send Kal-El to the same planet where your brother went."

Kara's eyes widened.

"Earth?"

Alura nodded.

"that is where your brother will be waiting for you"

"From there… you will grow stronger."

"Faster."

Her voice softened.

"You will become like a god."

She placed her hands on Kara's cheeks.

"Guide Kal through the journey, okay?"

Kara nodded through her tears.

Back inside Jor-El's estate, the final preparations were underway.

Jor-El handed the Codex to Lara.

"I have secured it."

"Merge it with Kal."

Lara nodded, placing the genetic crystal within the infant capsule.

"With this…"

Jor-El whispered.

"Krypton will survive… in another way."

Lara looked down at their newborn son.

"As long as Kal lives…"

"Krypton lives."

Jor-El gently touched his son's small hand.

"Son…"

"You are our hope."

"The hope of Krypton."

His voice trembled slightly.

"When you arrive… obey your cousin Von-Ra."

"He will guide you."

Lara looked at him in surprise.

"You still believe he lives?"

Jor-El nodded firmly.

"I know he does."

He kissed Lara gently.

"We will follow you once this conflict ends."

Outside, ships began launching.

Escape pods.

Rescue vessels.

Civilian transports.

But the Council's forces began firing at them.

Laser cannons blasted into the sky.

Pods exploded mid-flight.

Ships fell burning back toward the surface.

They would rather see Krypton die than allow others to escape.

But the House of Zod stood between them and the fleeing ships.

Warriors formed defensive lines.

Energy cannons roared.

Dru-Zod raised his weapon.

"Hold the line!"

Above them, several ships successfully escaped the planet's atmosphere.

Among them—

Kara's pod.

Kal-El's pod.

And a handful of rescue vessels carrying the last hope of Krypton.

Behind them…

The planet continued to crack.

The end of Krypton had begun.
