"You seem to have done something big in New York, almost overshadowing me."
"Big? Just punishing evil and promoting good, the Congress is overreacting."
Harry and Tony started chatting at the entrance.
"Overreacting, I like that word. You know they are overreacting this time too, right?"
"That's hard to say. Iron Man, such a cool thing, everyone wants to get one."
"Thanks for the compliment, but can you not use the word 'get'? It sounds a bit uncivilized."
"Does it? This is clearly everyday language. I think you're overthinking it."
Bang, bang, bang!
"Mr. Harry Osborn, Mr. Tony Stark, please take your seats!"
The two glanced at the senator, shook hands, and walked to their respective seats.
The hearing soon turned into a debate.
The senator insisted that Tony was harboring a super weapon, which was Iron Man.
But Tony stated that this was a "high-tech prosthetic," Iron Man was himself, and added that, depending on state laws, handing over Iron Man would be a form of forced labor or some kind of physical transaction.
The scene was amused by Tony, and the atmosphere was very lively.
"I am indeed not a weapons expert, but I have invited a weapons expert today. Let us hear what he has to say," Senator Stern said with a forced smile.
One, not two, because Harry did not agree to the senator's invitation before the hearing.
Stern asked Harry to stand on his side and promised that the Department of Defense would give more orders, but Harry didn't feel much about it.
Only Osborn is selling power armor. Whether you promise it or not, it doesn't have much impact.
As for the weapons sales sector, Harry really didn't intend to sell weapons to the Congress.
Not to mention that he didn't really have any high-tech weapons right now; secondly, much of what is sold to the Congress would end up in the hands of HYDRA, and weapons are much harder to control than power armor.
Currently, the Military makes every effort to recover power armor destroyed on the battlefield, but weapons are a different story.
On the other hand, the Congress also promised that if they got the mark armor, they would hand it over to the Osborn Group for reverse engineering.
But Harry also refused; this was simply impossible.
So Harry could only sit in a place further back.
"I would like to call Justin Hammer, the Department of Defense's current main arms dealer."
"Aren't you an arms dealer?" Tony turned his head and said to Harry.
"I am an armor supplier, which is quite different from an arms dealer. After all, firefighters might need my equipment, but they wouldn't need weapons." Harry nodded. This so-called "armor supplier" label was also something Harry hyped up to show that he was a pure and honest businessman.
The camera cut to Harry and Tony, and Tony raised his hand at this moment.
"Please note that I saw Mr. Hammer walk in, and I think, but I didn't see any weapons expert." Tony glanced at Harry. "The only one who is relatively close to that concept, an 'armor supplier,' is also sitting behind me."
Harry spread his hands towards the camera, but didn't make any statement.
He was just there to observe, not intending to get involved.
"I am indeed not a weapons expert. We all know who the real weapons expert is," Justin pointed at Tony and said, "Your father, Howard Stark!"
"He was the father of the Military-industrial complex, but he was not a flower seller; he was a lion."
"Tony Stark forged an indestructible sword, yet insists it's just a shield, wanting us to trust him and hide behind him."
"We live in a World full of danger, and Mr. Stark cannot necessarily predict danger."
"God bless Iron Man, God bless the United States."
Justin's speech was very serious. In short, it revolved around one meaning: Iron Man is a weapon, perfectly expressing Senator Stern's intention.
Next was James Rhodes, who would later become War Machine.
Senator Stern asked Rhodes to read specific paragraphs of the report according to his wishes, obviously intending to take things out of context to express that Iron Man is a dangerous weapon and should not be controlled by an individual.
Immediately after, the screen began to play a video, showing that some regions had already started to copy the Iron Man Suit, wanting to highlight the tension of the situation.
In reality, similar armor copying had long since begun, starting from when the Osborn Group's power armor was deployed to the battlefield.
However, no one targeted Osborn. After all, Harry didn't hide anything; he sold it to the Military immediately, and the Military was using it quite happily on the battlefield.
Looking at the images on the screen, Tony began to operate his phone.
"Wait a second, I've taken control of your screen. It's time to make things a bit more transparent."
Tony played what Stern's so-called copying was really about:
Most of the so-called copying was just reckless research, and due to the copycats' eagerness for quick success, it even led to bloody accidents. The so-called urgent situation was complete nonsense.
Like some giant robots that fell over after taking two steps, while the mounted machine guns kept firing, and the people around couldn't dodge in time; the scene was extremely bloody.
Regarding this, Harry also secretly complained—actually, the cost of the Osborn Group's power armor technology was not that high, but Hammer Industries just wanted to directly copy Tony's.
But perhaps the copying of the power armor also failed?
Then a classic scene appeared on the screen—when a soldier was testing Hammer Industries' copy, the Iron Man Suit did a 180-degree rotation—
Snap!
The video had finished playing, and Hammer finally pulled the power cord of the display screen.
"A normal company takes 5-10 years, Hammer Industries takes 20 years." Tony added insult to injury without mercy.
"Allow me to point out that the soldier in the video is still alive," Hammer argued weakly.
But Harry had prepared a video to "GG" in this special occasion.
The TV that had been unplugged lit up again, and Lening connected to the TV.
"Actually, he is not. This soldier's spine is completely damaged, paralyzed from the head down, and accompanied by multiple organ injuries."
Everyone gasped—good heavens, it's worse than being dead.
"The Osborn Group provided this soldier with artificial prosthetic implant surgery, replacing the soldier's spine and reconstructing the damaged nervous system."
Before he finished speaking, Tony turned his head, looking as if he had seen a ghost.
"How did you do that? I have another video!" Tony mouthed to Harry.
In the video, the soldier was running on the playground again and expressed his gratitude to Osborn.
"In short, that's the situation. The technology used on this soldier will soon be put on the market. Mr. Stark seems to have something more to say."
Harry looked at his watch and gestured a '10' to Tony, indicating he would give him ten seconds.
The paused TV started moving again, and the screen still showed the soldier.
"F*** Hammer Industries!"
The momentary profanity, suppressed to the extreme, directly silenced Senator Stern and Hammer at the scene.
"You're welcome," Tony suddenly added.
"What?"
"Because I can prevent the threat of nuclear war, Iron Man is very useful, we are very safe, the United States is very safe, you want my stuff, don't even think about it!"
"I can maintain World peace all by myself."
The whole audience stood up, including, of course, Harry.
But Harry wasn't standing up to applaud like the others; the "GG" was finished, and the content that followed wasn't important anymore.
He needed to go outside and wait for Tony, otherwise he wouldn't be able to leave once the crowd grew.
