When Dev hears the voice coming from his system, an involuntary wave of happiness crosses his face. This was his first system quest, which he had successfully completed — 10 points! Dev thinks to himself, "For now, these points are just stored with me..." But he had not forgotten the importance of these points.
Looking back, Manas and Rakesh Khurana were watching Dev, who was throwing stones at that machine in front, with strange looks. Rakesh asked, "Why are you hitting a dead thing?" Dev had completely forgotten about the humans standing behind him. He turned around and said, "I was just doing a safety check."
Manas Khurana said, "Okay, let's move ahead." Moving forward, Dev thinks to himself, "They had taken an incomplete map of this ruin from my father... so they must have definitely come to this ruin. It's only a matter of time before I meet them."
On the other side, the human guards and their leader were in pursuit. They quickly get out of the way. The Demon leader quickly spins the Rubik's cube in his hand, and all its colors align in four directions. After this, he presses his finger hard on one part of the cube. As soon as he does this, the cube, right before their eyes, becomes many times larger than its original size. From where he pressed his finger, a rod extends out the front — which takes the shape of a hammer. At the same time, many sharp blades emerge around the enlarged cube. This looked like an extremely terrifying weapon.
The Demon leader moves forward and attacks the guards. The human guards behind him also join in. Everyone attacks those masked guards with their weapons. A fierce battle ensues between the two sides.
The Demons who were wearing masks showed no trace of feeling pain. Even if their arm broke, they would keep fighting. When the Demon leader killed a human guard, a force field would emanate from the mask of the masked Demon, and it would absorb that human into itself. This made the masked Demon even more dangerous.
Initially, the masked Demon couldn't stand against the leader at all, but as the battle progressed and people started dying, he began to grow stronger. When the masked Demon was the only one left, he absorbed five more Demons lying nearby into himself. In this fight, the leader had also lost seven of his men.
After consuming all of them, the masked Demon evolved into a completely different creature. He had four arms sprouting from four shoulders, and two legs. Bones were protruding outwards from his fingers — extremely sharp ones. Red smoke was emanating from his body, spreading all around. People coming in contact with this smoke were losing their mental balance.
The Demon leader said, "Is it guarding that thing here?" The leader struck the monster with full force using the weapon in his hand. The monster stopped it with its sharp claws, but the leader, leaving his weapon there, reached behind the monster at tremendous speed. Before the monster could turn around and react, the leader drew the sword hanging on his back and sliced the monster into two pieces.
Perhaps the leader wasn't so weak that this masked Demon could face him. The human guards standing behind, who were lower in level than the leader, came to him and said, "Chief! Are you alright?" The monster leader ignored them, went straight to the monster, transformed his weapon back into a cube, and picked it up.
As the leader was moving forward, one of those two — the one with iron hands and feet — said, "Chief! This one is still alive!" The monster leader said without turning back, "Leave him. He's going to die in a short while anyway."
Meanwhile, Manas, Dev, Rakesh Khurana, and Dev now reach the place where there was a pond and a waterfall of red blood.
As soon as Dev sees that pond, the system voice announces:
"A rare treasure — Evolution Pool! This pool can help you cultivate Demon Body Art."
Manas Dev Khurana also sees this pool, but he knew of something even more important than this. He pauses for a moment, then starts moving forward — towards where those monsters had gone.
Dev checks his pockets and is surprised to see — he hadn't brought any storing item (like a bottle or anything). So how could he take that blood pond with him?
Dev looks at Manas Khurana, who was going ahead. Dev calls out, "You people can go that way, I'll come in a little while."
He looks around him. Dead humans are visible, which had now turned into skeletons. Dev thinks quickly — what should he do? He goes near a human skull lying close by and thinks, "Looks like this is the last resort."
As he is about to touch that thing, the system voice comes:
"I get the feeling that you want to keep this blood pool with you?"
Dev quickly withdraws his hand and asks the system, "What should I do finally?"
The system said, "If you wish, I can deposit this pool into your system space. But there's one condition — you cannot take this thing out until you unlock its function."
Dev becomes happy hearing this. He thinks, "This is good news!" He quickly tells the system to absorb that pool into itself.
The system panel appears. A view of a very large space is shown in the system. A pulling force emanates from the system and starts storing the water, pulling it into the air.
Dev is extremely astonished seeing this. The river water was being pulled into the air, into some invisible thing. It seemed as if the water had grown wings.
As Dev was watching the water flying in the air, he noticed something strange — among the water going into the system, a fish-like thing was swimming! But before he could understand anything, that thing got absorbed into the system. Dev thinks, "Was this my illusion, or did this really happen?"
In a short while, the pool below was completely gone. Surprisingly, as soon as the pool ended, that waterfall also stopped falling. Meaning, this entire lake had been absorbed into his system!
Seeing this, Dev said, "I need to reach Manas Dev and Rakesh Khurana quickly now. This is what I wanted."
As Manas Dev Khurana heads towards the cave, Dev watches him. Just then, a loud voice echoes in his head:
"A very powerful and high-ranking demon has been detected! Looking at its cultivation, it is close to Master Rank. Kill this Demon and gain 500 system points!"
Dev thinks, "Is there such a big demon here? I'm not at this level yet to handle it... But still, I have the Dragon Teeth Armor. I should at least try once."
He thinks, "But how is this demon still alive even after Rakesh and Manas Khurana went there?"
Dev cautiously steps towards the cave. He had expected something terrifying, but nothing is visible in front — just blood scattered nearby and a monster lying ahead, almost cut in half.
When he looked closely, the monster's body seemed to twitch slightly. He went near that dying monster. Dev thinks, "What a filthy demon! Looks like its body is just covered in blood. And such a big demon — how dangerous would it be when fully healed?"
It seemed as if that demon was now counting its last breaths. Because the monster leader had finally cut even the mask on that masked Demon's face in half. This was its biggest weakness — as long as even one mask remained, that demon would stay alive. But its last mask was now destroyed.
Dev picked up a stone from nearby and hit the demon on the head. But its body didn't even flinch. Dev understood — this demon wouldn't die like this.
He started looking for any weapon nearby. Just then he started regretting his luck — "Why on earth did I come here without any weapon?"
