The full moon always woke me before dawn.
Not because of the light, because the heavy velvet curtains in my bedroom blocked that, but because of the unbelievable pull. It hummed beneath my skin like a second heartbeat, slow and steady, reminding every wolf in existence who they were and who ruled them.
Today it was stronger than the previous full moons I had experienced. I wasn't sure why, but it ignited a renewed sense of strength and ease in me.
I opened my eyes before the servants arrived, staring at the high carved ceiling of my chambers. For a moment I simply breathed, feeling the strange mixture of anticipation and tension twisting through my chest.
The first full moon since Sienna was by my side, no matter how unwilling she was. The first full moon my children would spend within my pack.
A slow exhale left my lungs.
