After finishing with Maiden's peak Lyra, Misty and Brock were now back on track with travelling to Saffron City. Right now, they were walking through a forest and it was getting dark.
I hope we find Saffron City soon," said Misty, "it's getting late."
"Hey Lyra." Brock called out, "What Pokémon are you going to use?"
"Well," Lyra said, "since the Gym Leader Sabrina, uses Psychic type I've been thinking about it. I thought of using Gengar, Butterfree or Beautifly, since Ghost and Bug types beat Psychic types. But since Gengar are part Poison type as well it might not work as Psychic beats poison. As with Butterfree and Beautifly, well I couldn't make up my mind. So, I decided to go with Espeon. After all Psychic vs Psychic can work."
"That's a great idea." Brock said.
Just then they heard laughter coming from some bushes. The laughter was from a little girl, about six years old, and was wearing a white dress, with a white hat and was carrying a white ball.
"Excuse me little girl," Lyra asked politely, "do you know if we are near to Saffron City?"
The little girl laughed again and ran away into the bushes. "I was only asking for directions." Lyra said and the group followed the path that the girl, 'Something is not right about that little girl.' She thought but she still took it and the path led them to a cliff.
They saw Saffron City ahead of them; it was a city with many lights, "Wow it's beautiful." Misty said admiringly the lights.
"I guess seeing that little girl was a sign of luckiness." Brock chuckled and Misty also chuckled at that comment.
"Maybe?" Lyra said deep in thought.
After spending the night in the Pokémon Centre, the gang walked over to Saffron Gym, an unusual dome-shaped building. "Well time to get my fourth badge." Lyra said. She was about to open the Gym's door, when a dark grey bearded man, in a dark green jogging outfit and with a dark green cap, interrupted him.
"Are you going to battle Sabrina?" The man asked. He stared at Lyra and appeared to be studying her, Lyra noticed this, but shook it off.
"Yes, I am battling Sabrina," Lyra said, "is that a problem?"
"If I were you kid," the man said, "I'd go to another Gym. Sabrina will not go easy on a newbie trainer like you. So, leave now and go to another gym."
Lyra glared at the man she wanted to fight Sabrina; she looked at the old man straight in the eye. "I'm sorry but listen here old man," she said, "I didn't come to Saffron Gym just to have you tell me to leave. I'm battling Sabrina, got that?"
Lyra felt his Aura but it was strange, his Aura was like a Psychic type. "And why does your Aura feel like a Psychic Type, as well?" She asked the man and he was shocked to find Lyra a Aura user; they are extremely rare in the world especially people with the abilities. The man smiled at her and lead her inside with her friends.
Inside Lyra Misty and Brock saw a lot of people at tables. Some people were staring at spoons, as if they were trying to bend them. And the rest were trying to guess what shape was on cards, without looking.
"What are they all doing?" Misty asked.
"Hey what are you kids doing here?" A voice asked. It was a man in a lab coat.
"I am here to challenge Sabrina." Lyra answered.
The man chuckled, "If you're here to challenge the great Sabrina," he said, "then you are in big trouble."
"Why is that?" Misty asked, "and what are those people doing?"
"If you must know, it's this." The man said. He took a spoon out of his pocket, held it up and stared at it hardly. The spoon suddenly bent a bit.
"Oh, you're a Psychic user." Lyra said shocking the man.
"Oh," said the man, "then you know about psychic powers."
"Yeah of course," Lyra said, "besides I own a psychic Pokémon myself." She looked around, "That's not all, all the people in here are Psychic users."
"Impressive," said the man, "we hardly get any trainers with psychic Pokémon, but I highly doubt that will help you."
"Don't worry," Lyra said confidently, "I have a trick of my own."
The man suddenly felt a strong Aura coming from her, "Oh, you're an Aura user." He said, "They are extremely quite rare. Very well I'll lead you to the Great Sabrina."
The man led them to where Lyra's Gym Battle with Sabrina would be. The battle field looked like an underground temple.
Misty and Brock were feeling a bit scared.
Lyra had a strange feeling inside of her, "I sense Psychic Aura." She whispered, "And it's not a normal Psychic power either."
The man bowed on the battlefield, "Great Sabrina," he said and point to Lyra, "This girl here wishes to battle you."
Two figures appeared behind a curtain. One was a little girl in white, holding a PokéBall, the other was a woman with long dark green hair, wearing a long red shirt.
Lyra recognized the little girl the girl they saw in the forest. 'She's the little girl from the forest.'
The woman's eyes turned blue and lifted the man into the air, then dropped him onto the floor. The man ran away in panic.
The gang felt sorry for the man; it seemed really mean of Sabrina treating her own assistances like that.
'I thought so.' Lyra thought, 'That little girl doesn't feel human either.'
Lyra bravely stepped forward. "Sabrina, I'm Lyra Mew Light of Pallet Town," she said, "and I wish to battle you to earn the Marsh Badge."
The little girl spoke up and giggled, "I accept the challenge, but if you lose you will have to play with me."
Lyra felt unsure about this, but agreed to it.
Then the woman spoke up, "This will be a 1 vs 1 Pokémon battle. Let play time begin." She floated to the top side of the stadium.
Lyra got spooked by that, but stepped onto the bottom side of the stadium, 'Why do I get the feeling that this battle is not going to be normal battle.' Lyra thought with a sigh.
Now the gym battle was ready to begin. "Come on out Abra." Sabrina said as she releases her Pokémon.
The Pokémon looked like a bipedal Pokémon that is primarily yellow. Its face is kite-shaped, with a small, pale-yellow snout and two short, pointed ears with pale yellow interiors. Its wide, narrow eyes are normally closed, its body is segmented with black skin is visible between its joints and along its neck. It has two brown, pauldron-shaped extensions on its shoulders, as well as a brown, fauld-like piece around its chest, it has three fingers and toes, with its fingers considerably shorter than its toes and its tail is thick and long, with a brown band located near the tip.
Abra, the Psi Pokémon.
It sleeps for 18 hours a day. Even when awake, it teleports itself while remaining seated.
'If Abra can still do things while asleep,' Lyra thought, 'I better be careful and not underestimate it.' "Okay! Espeon, I choose you!" Espeon came out of her PokéBall and got ready to fight.
"So, you have a Psychic type too, huh? Interesting." Sabrina said and the little girl smiled with delight.
"Espeon," Lyra said, "this may be a difficult battle, bet let's win this."
"Espeon!" She yipped.
Lyra was about to give Espeon a command, but Abra started to glow. "Interesting." Sabrina said.
"Oh Arceus." Lyra groans.
Everyone watched as Abra evolved and changed into a primarily yellow, humanoid Pokémon. It has two large, pointed ears on top of its head, a red star on its forehead, and wide cheeks leading down to a thin snout. Its eyes are deep-set and narrow, its torso is segmented with bulky shoulders, a thick, brown chest, and a small abdomen marked by three red, wavy lines. Attached to the Pokémon's abdomen is a large, thick tail encircled with a brown band near its base. Its arms are thin with brown elbows, and end in three-fingered hands with white claws. Its legs have prominent knees and large, three-toed feet, also ending in white claws and also carrying a pair of silver spoons.
Kadabra, the Psi Pokémon.
The evolved form of Abra. It stares at its silver spoon to focus its mind. It emits more alpha waves while doing so.
'Oh, great I thought that I felt something weird about its Aura. Now this is really going to be tough.' Lyra thought, "Espeon use Shadow Ball!" Espeon fired a black purple ball from its mouth and the attack hit Kadabra directly.
"Use confusion." Sabrina said. Kadabra's eyes turned red, ready to attack.
"Protect." Lyra said, Espeon created a barrier around herself to protect her from Kadabra's confusion. "Now use Swift!" Stars came out of Espeon's jewel and hit Kadabra really hard.
"Recover." Sabrina said and Kadabra glowed a light yellow and recovered a bit.
'Oh no,' Lyra thought, 'recover makes Pokémon recover a little. I will have to attack Kadabra very quick.' "Espeon psyche up." Espeon stood still for a bit. "Now use Psybeam." A rainbow-colored beam shot out of Espeon's jewel and hit Kadabra hard. "Follow it with an Iron Tail." Espeon tail glow and it hard Kadabra again weakling it more.
Sabrina's eyes went wide eyed like that; it was like she was showing some emotion.
Misty and Brock saw that. "Hey Brock," whispered Misty, "doesn't Sabrina look a bit different?"
"Yeah," said Brock, "I mean earlier she just looked blank on the face and in the eyes. But now she looks a little worried, because of how much pain Kadabra just went through."
Unknown to them, the man they saw outside was watching the gym battle in the shadows, well expect for Lyra who was sensing another person inside the Gym watching but she didn't have care because the man Aura is simpler to Sabrina Aura.
Kadabra were panting and getting tired but Espeon doesn't look tired at all from the battle.
"I have to say," said Sabrina, "you are the first to give me an interesting battle." She looked at Espeon, "And your Espeon is well raised after all that battle it still doesn't look tired."
"Yeah, this battle is fun." The little girl said giggling.
"Thank you very much for the complement." Lyra said with a smile, "It's time to end this here and now. Espeon, Hyper Beam!" She shouted out.
"Psybeam." Sabrina said, the hyper beam and Psybeam collided with each other.
Kadabra was panting and struggling to stand while Espeon was standing there looking at Kadabra guarded, then suddenly Kadabra collapsed with defeat. Lyra had won.
Lyra ran over to Espeon. "Thank you very much Espeon for your hard work." She said, giving her a hug, "You were awesome." Espeon licked her trainers face in affection.
Meanwhile Sabrina walked over to Kadabra, "You made us lose!" The little girl shouted, "you're a meanie!"
Sabrina picked up Kadabra and asked it if it was okay. She had a real look of worries in her eyes, and it looked like color was coming back into her eyes.
Then the little girl suddenly disappeared, as if she were an illusion all this time.
Lyra was about to walk to Sabrina but then she felt something, "No offence, old man I know your there in the shadows came out now and check on Sabrina would ya!" She called out shocking Misty and Brock.
The man walked out of the shadows, "Sabrina?" He spoke.
"Daddy?" Sabrina said, tears started to build in her eyes and she hugged the man, "Daddy!" She cried out.
"My little girl. Your back!" Her Sabrina dad cried out.
Misty and Brock were amazed by this, they had no idea that the man was really Sabrina's father well expect for Lyra.
Then a woman came into the Gym; she turned out to be Sabrina's mother. Both Sabrina and her father hugged the woman and all of them cried tears of happiness.
When everyone got out of the gym Sabrina's father explained everything to Lyra, Misty and Brock. The truth was Sabrina had been born with Psychic powers. But what happened was that the Psychic powers began to take control over Sabrina when she got older and older.
"Ever since that happened," Sabrina's father said, "Sabrina showed no emotions for anything and used her powers to hurt people. But thanks to you Lyra, Sabrina is now free at last."
"I didn't really do anything." Lyra said, "All I did was battle her."
"Ah, but your battle set her free," the man said, "because defeating Kadabra helped Sabrina get her emotions back and I must say that your
Aura powers are powerful, able to sense me when you are battling. Impressive!" Sabrina and her mother agreed with that.
Sabrina stepped over to Lyra, "Lyra, I thank you for that great Pokémon battle," she said, "and now I present you the Marsh Badge."
The Marsh Badge was golden and in the shape of two circles.
"And I have something else for you." Sabrina said and handed her a Pokémon egg, it is purple with a yellow crescent moon in the center. "I found this Pokémon egg a couple weeks ago when I was walking around. As you can see it doesn't feel like it about to hatch yet."
Sabrina looked at Lyra, "So I want you to have it." Lyra looked shocked she already has a Pokémon egg and now she has another one.
Lyra smiled brightly, "Thank you Sabrina I promise to take great care of it." She spoke.
Sabrina smile, "I know you will Lyra. That Pokémon will come in handy." Sabrina walked up to her and gave Lyra a hug which she returned, "Good Luck on the rest of your journey." She spoke.
Sabrina's parents smiled fondly at them.
After that Lyra, Misty and Brock bid farewell to Sabrina and her parents as they continued their journey.

1. Lyra Pokémon egg that Sabrina gave her is a Legendary Pokémon egg that's the hint. Light blue egg with a yellow crescent moon in the centre.
