Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Joining the Adventurers’ Guild

"Rewards and payment!!"

At the mention of that, Paimon's eyes lit up.

"Come to think of it, Kaeya and Amber still owe us a plate of Honey Roast Carrots with Meat!"

"Kaeya is pretty badly injured, so don't expect that anytime soon."

Jiang Chen said.

"But you can ask Amber first."

"Though she doesn't have much money, so don't squeeze her too hard."

Members of the Knights who were underage didn't receive salaries.

Saving money wasn't easy for Amber.

"Is that so? Then I'll only order one serving!"

Paimon said with a regretful tone.

Jiang Chen secretly wiped imaginary sweat.

If Amber's wallet had consciousness, it would probably come thank him for saving its life.

Who knew what Paimon had originally planned?

Since someone else was paying, she probably intended to eat without restraint.

After finishing his meal, Jiang Chen wrote down the recipe for Three-Immortal Poultry Soup and handed it to Sara.

Then he wrote another letter and held it in his hand.

"I'm going to the Adventurers' Guild to send a letter."

He tapped the envelope.

"After I come back, we'll go to the Knights' headquarters together."

"That's the place with the Adventurer artifact set, right?"

"Yes."

"Then I'll come take a look too."

Lumine picked up the round-bellied Paimon and followed him.

Jiang Chen led her down the steps of Fountain Plaza.

The Adventurers' Guild was a massive organization in every nation.

Many legendary adventurers, in their later years, donated valuable treasures and information to the guild in gratitude for the help they had received when they were young.

These included:

rare treasures

intelligence

precious documents

Because of this, the guild had a very deep foundation.

In Mondstadt, they owned a large adventurers' hall across from the main city gate.

A reception counter stood outside.

And toward the direction of Springvale, there was also a headquarters office building.

Jiang Chen was heading to the counter.

"Boss Jiang Chen! And the Traveler!"

From afar, the receptionist Katheryne waved to them.

"Strange. Does the guild have a commission for me?"

Jiang Chen asked at the counter.

"No, no."

"My main target is actually this traveler."

Katheryne waved her hands quickly.

"Me?"

Lumine looked curious.

"Yes, you."

"I've been observing you many times this morning—the traveler who helped drive away Stormterror."

Katheryne said very seriously.

"From you, I can see the potential of legendary adventurers."

"Wow!"

Paimon climbed onto the counter.

"What about me?!"

"You?"

Katheryne hesitated.

"Perhaps… the companion of a legendary adventurer?"

"Just like that you can tell?"

Lumine found it hard to believe.

"Of course."

"I'm very confident in my judgment."

Katheryne said as she produced an Adventurer's Handbook.

"Congratulations on joining the Adventurers' Guild."

On the first page of the handbook was already written:

Name: Lumine

Their information network was extremely fast.

After all, only a few members of the Knights even knew her name.

"Eh?!"

Lumine was stunned.

How did she suddenly join the Adventurers' Guild?

Had the woman asked her earlier?

Did she accidentally agree?

"Jiang Chen… did my memory get erased?"

"Why can't I remember her asking if I wanted to join?"

Lumine grabbed his hand nervously.

Her face turned pale.

"… "

Jiang Chen couldn't help laughing.

He flicked her forehead.

"You remember correctly."

"She never asked."

"Ow."

Lumine covered her forehead but relaxed slightly.

"Then…"

"Isn't this just the usual store membership trick?"

Jiang Chen said.

"They flatter you first so your brain overheats and you can't think clearly."

"Then they turn something fake into something that sounds real."

"By the time the customer realizes what happened, they're already on the way home with a membership card."

"Ah!"

Paimon gasped.

"So merchants can be this cunning?!"

"Boss Jiang Chen, that's not fair…"

Katheryne looked embarrassed enough to hide under the counter.

Although… the method really was similar.

Receptionists often used such tricks to increase their membership numbers.

But the Adventurers' Guild wasn't a store!

Katheryne quickly explained:

"Miss Lumine, don't worry."

"The Adventurers' Guild doesn't charge membership fees and doesn't force members to accept tasks."

"Joining us only brings benefits."

"Is that so?"

Lumine still didn't trust her.

She looked at Jiang Chen instead.

"That part is true."

"You don't have to give anything."

"You can meet companions, organize adventures, accept commissions for rewards, or even post requests for other adventurers."

"It's basically a support network for adventurers across the Seven Nations."

Jiang Chen explained.

"Just keep the Adventurer's Handbook."

"Okay."

Lumine finally accepted it.

Katheryne sighed in relief.

That meant another performance achievement for her.

And since Lumine was the traveler who drove away Stormterror, she might even receive extra rewards.

Only then did Jiang Chen take out his letter and hand it over.

"Send this to the Inazuma Adventurers' Guild, addressed to Fischl."

"Using the guild's delivery route."

"How much will it cost?"
