Location: Beneath the Qin Ancestral Chamber – Sealed Void Vault
The air was thick with age.
As the stone wall behind the ritual chamber groaned open, revealing a narrow stairway spiraling downward, an icy mist spilled into the room. Ancient spiritual pressure poured out—not wild like fire qi, nor heavy like metal essence, but eerily empty, like the silence after death.
Qin Huaian, still exhausted from the Hollow Pulse Ritual, leaned on the stone floor, his chest rising and falling slowly. Though his body was weak, the flicker of the Void Pulse echoed steadily inside him like a second heartbeat.
Qin Fengyuan stood silently beside him, eyes narrowed in thought.
> "This vault hasn't responded in three centuries," he muttered. "Not even to me."
He turned to the boy. "You've awakened something older than bloodline. Come—we must see what it's calling you to."

🧭 Descent into the Vault
Step by step, they descended into the forgotten depths beneath the Qin estate. Carved runes along the wall shifted and shimmered as Huaian passed—responding to him. One by one, ancient barriers opened without force.
At the bottom, a round chamber awaited. Its walls pulsed with void-light, and in its center floated a single pedestal made of black crystal.
Upon it rested three items:
1. A black jade ring, covered in swirling silver runes, pulsing like a heartbeat.
2. A tattered book, wrapped in a chain of bone and sealed by an ancient talisman.
3. A cracked mask, half silver and half dark, with no eyeholes and a faint mist leaking from it.
Fengyuan stared in disbelief.
"These… were said to be the remnants of a fallen Void Sect—the Order of the Hollow Star. I thought them dead legends."
He gestured to the ring.
> "That ring belonged to their Grandmaster. It's a living soul artifact. If it accepts you, it will bind for life."
Huaian stepped forward. The moment his fingers brushed the jade, the runes lit up with silent intensity. The ring spun in the air, then slipped onto his right hand and tightened softly.
A soft whisper echoed in his mind:
> "Bearer of Flame and Void. Welcome."
Fengyuan exhaled slowly.
"So it's true. The Void Flame chose you."

🕯️ Relic Descriptions
Hollow Star Ring:
A sentient soul-bound artifact that grows with the user's Void Realm. It can absorb ambient spiritual pressure and create Void Shields to protect its bearer. It may eventually unlock its memory… and its former master's will.
Codex of the Nameless Path (Sealed):
Contains forbidden Void techniques. Can only be opened when the bearer reaches the 3rd Void Realm: Echoing Soul. Said to possess rituals that bend the laws of space.
Mask of Silence:
A cursed artifact that hides the user's identity and spiritual signature completely. However, once worn, it cannot be removed unless by death or full Void fusion. A mysterious presence lingers within it.

Huaian touched the mask gently, but did not wear it.
Fengyuan placed a firm hand on his shoulder. "Not yet. You are still forming your soul foundation. Once you reach the next realm, we will attempt to unseal the Codex."
The room dimmed once more. The chamber accepted its new master. The relics sank into Huaian's spiritual sea, bound to him by fate.
---
That night, as he emerged from the chamber and returned to his quiet room in the outer disciple quarters, he looked out the window. The moon was full.
Qin Xiaoxiao trained in the courtyard alone, swinging her twin blades through the air in furious, graceful arcs.
He smiled faintly.
> "Not yet… but soon. I'll stand beside you."
