"This feeling of being taken care of... as expected, even after all this time, your habit of taking care of people hasn't changed." After waking up, Lusamine looked at Ash with a complex expression.
You have to know, in the past, this kind of pampering was reserved exclusively for her. Now, looking at Elesa, Lusamine knew there would be many more to come.
Meanwhile, Ash was helping them get dressed while saying, "Alright, stop feeling sorry for yourself. Just being able to meet again is good enough. Plus, you don't have anorexia this time, which saves me a lot of trouble. Anyway, what kind of flavors are you used to now? Sour or sweet? I need to adjust my menu."
"Same as before. Whatever you make is fine." Lusamine looked at Ash, suddenly smiled, and then added, "It suddenly feels like we're back in the past... only there are more people in the house now."
Eating her breakfast, Elesa asked, "Was Ash always this good at taking care of people?"
"That's right. He really is a good, family-oriented man."
"Then I really hit the jackpot."
"Exactly, the equivalent of the grand prize."
Listening to Lusamine and Elesa's conversation, Ash felt an inexplicable sense of embarrassment.
Since Lusamine needed to rest right now, Ash and the others decided to stay in town for another day. Brock, meanwhile, was gazing out at the sea with a look of profound melancholy.
"Why? Why is Ash always so popular? Ash has welcomed his springtime of youth, but mine seems like it will never arrive..."
Saying this, Brock looked over at Elesa, Lillie, Misty, and Yellow, who were currently playing while riding on the giant Tentacruel. He couldn't help but sigh, "Ah, youth..."
While Elesa and the others were playing, Ash was teaching Gladion's Pokémon a unique skill.
"Deep breathing?"
"That's right. It's a skill that provides massive benefits for Normal-types, Grass-types, Fighting-types, and even Fire-types. Deep breathing. Of course, if I were to use the terminology from my past life, it would be called Hamon (Ripple). Breathing is connected to the blood. Blood transports oxygen from the lungs, and the oxygen in the blood is connected to the cells, which equate to the physical body."
"Just like tossing a stone into water creates ripples, using a special breathing technique generates ripples within the body, thereby producing immense power. This is the Hamon Qigong, or Ripple Breathing. I didn't actually expect this ability to succeed in this world, so I was quite surprised myself. But you've seen the results. My Chansey, Meowth, and even Pikachu are this incredibly strong because Ripple Breathing has deeply integrated into their daily lives. Every single breath they take is constantly conditioning their bodies. I think you understand what that means, right?"
"Yes. If that's the case, during a battle, the opponent would be exhausting their stamina while we would be slowly recovering..." Gladion grasped Ash's point, and his anticipation for this breathing technique Ash mentioned began to grow.
"Exactly! That's why your Eevee and Null, being Normal-types, can both learn this method. However, it's possible that the nature of the Ripple might change after your Eevee evolves. For example, my Pikachu uses an Electric-type Ripple. Well then, let's get started. Oh right, you need to start practicing too!"
"Eh? Me too?" Gladion was stunned to hear that he had to train as well.
Meanwhile, Ash took off his red vest, leaving only a sports tank top, and began doing warm-up stretches. "That's right. We humans can actually practice it too. Plus, as partners to our Pokémon, training alongside them yields better results. This way, if anyone ever dares to launch a sneak attack on us trainers in the future, we can teach them a harsh lesson."
Looking at the well-defined muscles that were only revealed after Ash took off his jacket, Gladion realized that his upcoming training was going to be intensely grueling.
Over on Lusamine's side, having mostly recovered her strength, she watched with a smile as Ash instructed Gladion. At the same time, she silently decided to scrap several plans she had been harboring.
Originally, Lusamine had intended to harness the power of something called an Ultra Wormhole to see if she could find her way back to the world of Ash's past life. But she never expected that Ash had also been reincarnated. With that, many of her extreme plans could be abandoned.
"Well then. Once we get back, there are certain people who will need to be dealt with." Lusamine's gaze began to turn dangerous. She would not allow anything to separate her from Ash ever again. Not a single thing.
It had to be said that the reason Ash and Lusamine ended up together in their past life was largely due to their high compatibility in personality. Both of them possessed a dark side—a side that existed specifically for the sake of protecting their family. When Ash had previously spoken about annihilating the Tentacruel, he wasn't joking. He only held back for a simple reason: the giant Tentacruel could help protect his own people.
Lusamine, however, was a different story. To her, many people were entirely irrelevant and expendable. Therefore, Lusamine planned to give certain individuals two choices: end their missions and leave, or disappear forever.
Ash, after leaving Gladion to train on his own, sat down next to Lusamine and asked, "Judging by your expression, it seems you've got some big moves planned for when you get back?"
"Mhm. Some things can finally be put to an end, but there are certain people I need to take care of." Lusamine hid nothing from Ash; the bond between them was not something to be taken lightly.
"I have Continental Hotels set up over in the Alola region as well. I'll have them cooperate with you. Oh right, here, take this." Saying this, Ash handed Lusamine a purple card.
"What's this?"
"The Continental Hotel's Madame identification card. Elesa and the others all have one. From now on, you can use the resources over there as you please, and certain organizations will be more than happy to help you handle a few things. There's no need for you to dirty your own hands with some people."
"I understand. I'll gladly accept it, then."
After taking the purple card, Lusamine leaned on Ash's shoulder and whispered, "Being able to meet again... is truly wonderful."
"Yeah. It really is."
Training off to the side, Gladion felt like he was being force-fed a massive mouthful of PDA, and to make matters worse, it was the Mom and Dad brand...
