"You did great, Squirtle! That method just now was awesome. Extra food for you guys tonight!"
"Squirtle!" (I'm awesome, right, Master!)
Squirtle was overjoyed having his big bald head rubbed by Ash, happy to be praised again.
Squirtle really, truly liked Ash. Compared to the trainer who had abandoned him, Ash made Squirtle want to cling to him forever. Because of his past abandonment, Squirtle didn't want to evolve. Ash completely understood this and instead simply increased Squirtle's training intensity. If he wasn't going to evolve, he'd have to put in that much more effort to get stronger.
Squirtle understood Ash's intentions perfectly and highly cooperated with every training regime, which was exactly why he was getting so strong now.
In stark contrast to Ash and his team's heartwarming moment, the thugs were having a miserable time. First came Squirtle's sweet-potato farts, followed by two earth-shattering radish farts—it was absolute torture.
Because this cruel punishment was simply too horrifying, the thugs confessed everything.
The one who hired them to cause trouble was the boss of another pharmacy. His goal was simple: bankrupt Cassandra's family shop so the Continental Hotel's massive order would go to him.
However, what this boss couldn't have imagined in his wildest dreams was that Ash was the boss of the Continental Hotel! Although Ash frequently visited Cassandra and her family, in the pharmacy boss's eyes, Ash was just some foolish kid with a crush on Cassandra.
After learning the truth from the thugs, Cassandra said angrily, "That's too much! And to think he runs an old, established shop!"
Disgusted by the boss's shamelessness, Lara also chimed in, annoyed, "It's definitely shameless, but it looks like he miscalculated this time."
Lara's meaning was simple: that boss had no idea that the dream order he coveted was decided by a single word from the "foolish kid" he looked down upon.
Misty, Suzie, and Brock were equally furious, as was the gathered crowd. This was a matter of basic character; if that boss was willing to pull dirty tricks like this, who knew if he'd cut corners on his medicinal herbs?
Seeing Cassandra so angry, Ash could only pat her hand and say, "Alright, don't be mad... I told you to control your temper and your strength. With your grip, you could probably cripple someone..."
Ash wasn't lying. The truth was, because Cassandra had been practicing martial arts, her strength was terrifyingly immense. Among their peers, Ash—who also knew martial arts—was probably the only one who could subdue her.
"It's fine! Having you spar with me, Ash, I'll definitely be able to control it!"
Hearing this, Ash could only smile helplessly. Should he tell Cassandra that he never actually held back when they sparred? Oh well, at least Cassandra had incredibly strong self-defense capabilities.
Meanwhile, the old pharmacy's Boss Wang was waiting for his thugs' daily report. However, instead of the thugs, he was greeted by Cassandra, Ash, and the others.
"Wang! You've gone too far! Sending people to trash our place!"
Seeing them show up, Wang knew his plot was exposed. But he just sneered dismissively, "Heh, little girl, you're still too young. These days, this kind of thing is called business competition, understand? As long as you have the Continental Hotel's order, people are going to keep causing trouble for you."
"Oh, and then what? What we're going to do right now is deal with you. We'll talk about the rest later."
Ash didn't give a damn about "business competition." He had heard that excuse and beaten up enough people using it. Right now, he just wanted to teach Wang a lesson and drag him over to Officer Jenny.
Wang's eye twitched as he looked at Ash, whose arm was currently being hugged by Cassandra.
"What a foolish boy. Looks to me like you're just a dumb brute with some muscle. You don't understand the value of money. Let me ask you: if you want to marry Cassandra, what will you do without money? I see those girls behind you are involved with you too—you can't do shit without money."
Hearing this, Cassandra blushed and hid behind Ash, saying, "Honestly, what kind of nonsense are you spouting? But... thanks for the blessing."
"I'm not blessing you! I'm telling you to face reality! Can this dumb kid even make a living?"
Wang was speechless, unable to tell if Cassandra even grasped his point. Ash just stared speechlessly at Wang and asked, "Wang, I just want to ask you one thing. Do you know who owns the Continental Hotel?"
Wang was taken aback but replied, "Who else? The boss of the Continental Hotel. But I heard the owner of the hotel and the Los Pollos Hermanos is the same person. Maybe asking the restaurant folks would get you an answer! Seriously, kid, you'd better start thinking about how to make money to get a wife!"
"Oh... so you don't actually know. Let me tell you then. The boss of the Continental Hotel... is me!"
"Huh??"
Wang froze, dug at his ear, and looked at Ash. "Kid, are you out of your mind? You? A fifteen-year-old brat?"
"Yeah. Why else did you think the hotel staff were helping Cassandra and her family so much?"
"Hahaha! Stop joking around! How could that be..."
Wang wanted to mock him, but it slowly started to click. It seemed Ash was actually telling the truth.
Realizing the reality of the situation, Wang watched Ash slowly walking toward him and instinctively took a step back. "What are you doing? I'm telling you, hitting people is illegal!"
"Oh, I'm not planning to do anything extreme. I just want to do something I've been wanting to do for a long time."
"Huh? What's that?"
Just as Wang was confused, Ash took a thick stack of cash from Meowth and smacked it right into Wang's face! Smack!
"Let me tell you! I've always wanted to slap someone in the face with a wad of cash! Beating someone with money feels fucking amazing! Don't worry, this stack is for your medical bills! Now let me beat the shit out of you!"
Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack!
As Ash frantically whipped Wang's face with the money, Meowth just shrugged. Anyway, that wad of cash wasn't even a fraction of Ash's pocket change, so he let his boss go crazy.
Grabbing Wang by the collar and slapping him with the cash, Ash barked, "Who're you calling a foolish kid? I'm just keeping a low profile, understand? Can't afford a wife? Where do you think the hotel's orders came from? You just need a good beating! I'm telling you, I've even prepped the engagement! With a filthy mouth like yours, you deserve a good blast from my Squirtle! Squirtle, you got any left?"
"Squirtle? Squirtle."
Asked by Ash, Squirtle paused for a second, then quickly nodded and ate a white radish with a wicked grin.
"Good! Come here!"
"Squirtle!"
Once Squirtle came over, Ash picked him up, aimed him at Wang, and said, "Here! Experience my Squirtle's second ultimate move: The Earth-Shattering Radish Fart!"
Pbbbbbbbt!!!!
After that, Wang truly understood what his thugs had gone through!
