Chapter 13 - The WATER Sibling

I'm going to take these five assholes down.

Another sibling moves near the defeated one, asking him if he was okay. The EARTH sibling nods at him, and this new sibling stands up. He has very long, perfectly straight, blue space hair. Instead of a leather jacket, he wears a white sweater. Dust fears approaching his clothes. Lastly, he wears black jeans and white shoes.

He carries a big ass necklace that spells WATER with the Duel Monsters symbol for that attribute. I see, he's the WATER Sibling.

A headache follows after I stare at him for too long; the information of his whole Deck is now inside my mind. However, I believe, as a safety measure, I don't actually remember anything of his Deck unless I try to remember parts of it individually.

I see his Duel Disk open; he is about to fight me. So, I quickly try to remember his Deck Extra. Only 2 Cards, wow. Synchros, two synchros: 'Gungnir, Dragon of the Ice Barrier' and 'Graydle Dragon'. I decide to check what they do, and since there are only two, the pain is not that noticeable.

"I will avenge my brother... I'm the WATER Sibling, and my end Board is impenetrable!"

"In that case, I'll defeat you before then."

"Bold move."

[Duel Start]

[Yōso Mizu vs Yoshiro Yuta]

[Turn 1]

[Yoshiro Yuta's Turn]

[Main Phase]

Oh, good, I got to go first this time. I take the cards for my initial hand. I have strong spell cards in my Hand that could give me a way to finish the Duel. However, I do not have enough monsters to build a powerful Board.

With 'Toon Table of Contents', 'Toon Briefcase', 'Shadow Toon', 'Comic Hand', and 'Toon Goblin Attack Force', there's not much I can do this first turn. But I do have access to my search engine, at least.

As for my opponent, I cannot read him. He has a poker face and is acting as serene as the ocean on a good day. At least, that's how I heard the ocean is on a good day. And he's playing Water cards so... Anyways.

"I activate the Spell Card 'Toon Table of Contents', which allows me to Search and Add a 'Toon Bookmark' from my Deck to my Hand!"

['Toon Table of Contents', Spell Card]

[Add 1 "Toon" card from your Deck to your hand.]

"Then, I will activate 'Toon Bookmark' to Search and Add 'Toon World' to my Hand from my Deck!"

['Toon Bookmark', Spell Card]

[Add 1 "Toon World", or 1 card that mentions it, from your Deck to your hand, except "Toon Bookmark"]

"Now, by paying 1000 Lifepoints, I will activate 'Toon World'!"

['Toon World', Set & Activated to Yuta's First Spell/Trap Zone]

['Toon World', Spell Card]

[Activate this card by paying 1000 LP.]

"Your archetype is certainly interesting. Having a core card that does nothing seems unideal."

"It's worth it! I Normal Summon 'Toon Goblin Attack Force' in face-up Attack Position!"

['Toon Goblin Attack Force', EARTH Monster]

[Level 4/Warrior/Toon/Effect]

[2300 ATK, 0 DEF]

"Then, I set one face-down card and end my turn."

['Toon World', Set to Yuta's Third Spell/Trap Zone]

With this, I can prevent him from Normal Summoning next turn, and it might completely stall his combo as well. Turns out Toon Briefcase might be a strong card, actually. I need to keep my Spell cards in my Hand, though.

His two Synchro cards can destroy cards, which essentially means whatever I place down on my field is as much as gone if I can't trigger it before he summons his Synchros or can protect it.

[End Phase]

[Turn 2]

[Yōso Mizu's Turn]

[Draw Phase]

"Draw." He calmly draws a card from his Deck, most people scream Draw! out of their lungs. He just doesn't.

[Main Phase]

Without putting his drawn card into his Hand, he activates it immediately. Calmly putting it down in his terminal.

"I activate 'Foolish Burial', sending 'Mirror Mage of the Ice Barrier' to my Graveyard from my Deck."

'Foolish Burial'? I heard that it is a limited card, you can only have one per Deck, and it is very expensive. Really, how are these siblings not in higher Districts? It is absurd. What is also absurd is his luck; he really just drew 'Foolish Burial,' which activates his combo.

"If 'Mirror Mage of the Ice Barrier' is sent to the Graveyard, I can activate its effect. I'll Add 'General Wayne of the Ice Barrier' to my Hand from my Deck."

['Mirror Mage of the Ice Barrier', WATER Monster]

[If this card is sent to the GY: You can add 1 of your "Ice Barrier" cards that is banished or in your Deck to your hand, except "Mirror Mage of the Ice Barrier".]

"I will now Normal Summon 'Cryomancer of the Ice Barrier' in face-up Attack Position."

['Cryomancer of the Ice Barrier', Normal Summoned in face-up Attack Position to Mizu's Third Monster Zone]

['Cryomancer of the Ice Barrier', WATER Monster]

[Level 2/Aqua/Tuner/Effect]

[1300 ATK, 0 DEF]

"You have activated my trap card, 'Toon Briefcase'! I will shuffle 'Cryomancer of the Ice Barrier' back to your Deck!"

['Toon Briefcase', Trap Card]

[When your opponent Summons a monster(s) while you control a Toon monster: Shuffle that monster(s) into the Deck.]

The Briefcase appears from the trap card, opening its mouth as it bites on the Cryomancer, flattening it. The card on Mizu's terminal automatically returns to the Deck, and the Deck shuffles itself.

"Hmm... That is not ideal. I'll end my Turn." If he's annoyed by the effect of my Trap, he's hiding it well. The truth, though, is that I completely stopped his combo, and now I have an open field to Direct Attack. If I draw a Monster, I will be able to get a very good lead.

[Turn 3]

[Yoshiro Yuta's Turn]

[Draw Phase]

"Draw!" I look at my drawn card, and I remember something... I am not a lucky person. I drew another copy of 'Toon World'. I doubt my opponent will be able to bring both of his Synchros out, so I doubt I'll need to use it.

Unlike my opponent, I don't use my drawn card. I just put it next to my other cards and, provided I can't use any of my spell cards right now, or shouldn't in the case of my 'Toon World', I just enter into the Battle Phase right away.

"I enter the Battle Phase and I Direct Attack you with 'Toon Goblin Attack Force'!"

 [Mizu's LP: 8000 --> 5700]

"Nghh!"

Good, with this attack, depending on what he summons next turn, I should be able to win next turn. I hope he doesn't have any Spell Card negation monsters.

"I end my turn."

[End Phase]

[Turn 4]

[Yōso Mizu's Turn]

[Draw Phase]

"Draw." Once again, he draws calmly. Looks at his card, and this time he slightly smiles. He immediately plays it, just as he did last turn.

"I activate 'Terraformation' to add 'Chicken Game' from my Deck to my Hand, which I immediately set and activate in my Field Spell Zone!"

No way he also has 'Terraformation'!

['Terraformation', Spell Card]

[Add 1 Field Spell from your Deck to your hand.]

"By paying 1000 Lifepoints, 'Chicken Game' allows me to Draw 1 card."

['Chicken Game', Field Spell Card]

[Once per turn, during the Main Phase: The turn player can pay 1000 LP, then activate 1 of these effects;

● Draw 1 card.]

Mizu draws a card from his Deck and, once again, immediately plays it. Where did this King of Draw I'm facing come from!?

"I activate 'Monster Reborn' to Special Summon 'Mirror Mage of the Ice Barrier' from my Graveyard in face-up Defense Position."

['Mirror Mage of the Ice Barrier', Special Summoned in face-up Defense Position to Mizu's Third Monster Zone]

['Mirror Mage of the Ice Barrier', WATER Monster]

[Level 2/Aqua/Tuner/Effect]

[1000 ATK, 400 DEF]

Excuse me? Not only does he also have 'Chicken Game' and 'Monster Reborn', two other limited and expensive cards, but he drew 'Foolish Borial', 'Terraformation', and 'Monster Reborn' back-to-back!

"Lucky bastard, stop drawing good cards, man!"

"Oh... You think drawing well is all I can do? Well, you're in for a bad time then..."

Ah, dammit. It is true he hasn't even Normal Summoned yet.
