Mr Myers ignored the weird commotion and continued with the lesson.
,,I told you you'd see me again soon didn't I" Saphina stared at Fate after hearing that statement.
Zypher distanced himself a bit away from Fate and tried to focus on the lesson which proved to be a difficult task.
Saphina scooted a bit closer and whispered into his ear
,,Zypher , is that girl your friend? She seems kind of weird."
-Ugh how do I explain this situation….
,,She's an …old friend of mine. She is just like that, so uhm don't think too much of her behavior." His words were meaningless as Fate stretched her body before leaning against his shoulder.
,,Don't have a conversation without me~ I'll feel left out" she pouted, but Zypher knew her well enough to know she just teased them.
,,You're quite odd Fate. Where do you come from?" Saphina asked her with a slight annoyance.
,,Me? Hmm I'm from Horon High school. But it was too boring so I thought to myself, why not go to my best friend's school ? You're quite different yourself, the way you look and speak" Fate didn't bother to move around much while talking with Saphina.
Saphina looked at her strangely and then turned away, refocusing on class.
Fate seemed very satisfied with her work and also sat down on her seat properly.
-What a great way to start my school day.
At lunch time Zypher managed to avoid Fate and meet up with Leon and Max without Fate following him.
,,Good morning Leon, Good morning Max."
He finally could relax. Every lesson had felt like hell.
,,Good day to you too Zyph. I heard your class got a new student. Who is it?" Max seemed curious.
,,Her name is Fate and she's a friend of mine. She's very energetic and also weird." He tried to not say much about her weird behavior towards him.
,,Sounds nice, a girl and your friend huh. Didn't know you were that kind of guy." Max said jokingly.
,,Stop teasing me. It's really not as great as you imagine it to be." Zypher told him with a deep sigh.
Leon chuckled at the response.
,,Well still, she's a friend isn't she, how bad could it be?"
,,You don't want to know."
The bell rung and so Zypher began walking to his next class.
The rest of the day was filled with weird moments and awkward conversations. Fate always managed to do something that left others speechless.
Finally the school day came to an end and for the first time ever Zypher wanted to go home quick.
When he got home he saw a pair of shoes on the ground which he hadn't seen in a long time.
He entered the house and as he looked into the living room he saw his mother sitting on the couch.
,,I'm home." He told to no one in particular.
His mother stood up and came to greet him.
,,Ohh my baby boyyy. Come here, give your mom a hug." She opened her arms wide
Zypher hugged her and felt the comfortable embrace of his mother.
,,You seem tired son, tell me how was your day and what happened."
He could always count on his mom when it came to calming him down.
,,Well Fate just became my new classmate, apparently she transferred schools just to be with me again"
,,Awww how sweet. I remember when you two were little and always hung out together."
She smiled at the memories
,,Yeah well because of her rather weird personality she made every lesson I went to a living hell."
His mother grinned at his statement.
,,Is it really that bad? You two were the best of friends since elementary school."
Zypher stood there confused in silence.
,,What?! We've been friends since middle school not elementary school…"
,,What are you talking about Zypher? I know you don't have many memories of your elementary days but she's been your best friend there as well."
It suddenly clicked and a few very old and rusty memories of his elementary school days returned.
Zyphers head felt like it was getting overwhelmed by all the extra memories revealing themselves.
-Arghhhh my head hurts so badly. I can remember…I can remember her face. So back then that girl was Fate?!
As he came to the realization that Fate was the girl who caused him troubles in elementary school his consciousness faded and he fell to the ground.
A couple hours later he started to regain his consciousness.
-Uhhh what happened? … oh the memories and then… did I fall unconscious?!
He opened his eyes and noticed he was laying on his bed. His mother was sitting at a chair nearby , she was asleep. She probably cared for him while he was unconscious.
-My head still hurts but I really need som water right now
He slowly stood up, trying to not wake up his mother.
He went to the kitchen but noticed that they didn't have any water left so he left the house to go to the grocery store. He had enough money left in his pocket to buy something and since it was still only the afternoon he still had time before the stores would close.
He entered the grocery store and immediately walked towards the water aisle. As he was contemplating which one to get he felt a tap on his shoulder.
,,Good to see you Zypher. Could you maybe help me for a bit."
It was Saphina.
He turned around and noticed how she had problems reaching the upper shelves.
,,Uhm sure. Just tell me what I can do."
,,I have trouble getting some of my things on the grocery list. Would you mind accompanying me?"
-How can I refuse when you look at me with those eyes
,,Of course."
Saphina started walking to different places and Zypher helped her by getting the things she couldn't reach and holding her heavy bag.
,,Saphina, what are all these ingredients for? Are you going to make a dish?"
,,Yes. I actually saw a new recipe that I wanted to try out and so I came to buy the missing ingredients."
She had a determined expression
,,So what did you come here for Zypher? I don't want to hold you back from buying things you need"
,,I just came to get some water. We don't have any left at home. At least not any that I know of."
They continued to get the things on her grocery list. After they both got everything they needed and had payed for their groceries they left the store.
,,Should I help you carry the items back home?"
Saphina had a total of five bags so she nodded eagerly as she wouldn't be able to carry them all by herself.
They walked along the river and then stopped in front of a large fence made of metal. The house or rather mansion was surrounded by a tall wall of stone and the front gates were surrounded by people who looked like bodyguards.
Zypher gulped at the sight of the mansion
,,Uhh do you happen to live here Saphina?"
,,Yes I do, is that hard to believe?"
,,There are literal bodyguards and tall walls surrounding this mansion. Are you perhaps rich?"
,,I guess you could say I'm well off. Thanks for carrying my bags for me. You're big help."
A few bodyguards opened the front gates and let Saphina and him enter the front yard.
-I've never seen a place this luxurious before…
There was a small lagoon on the left side and a large flower garden to the right. They walked straight towards the manor and there was a second gate that got open up by bodyguards.
,,Well off huh…just how well off are your parents Saphina?"
She giggled at his question.
As they walked further into the estate their was another big garden in front of the front doors. A butler opened the front door and Zypher followed Saphina inside.
,,Not too much. We only have this one manor so we're not that rich"
-Not rich my ass…We needed approximately 5 minutes to walk from the first gate to reach the front door. There are literally two gates before you can even enter the front door and behind every gate is a large garden.
Saphina walked to the kitchen and there Zypher put down the bags which he was carrying.
,,As a gratitude for helping me out I'll invite you to stay for dinner tonight. I'll make the food from the new recipe and you'll be the first to try."
,,I'm not sure. I should tell my mother first that I will be home late today and I wouldn't want to disturb your dinner with your family."
,,No need to worry, my family will welcome you with open arms, I'm sure of it. And I can lend you a telephone to call your mom."
She hands him a phone lying around and he calls his mother a big away from the kitchen.
,,Uhh mom it may sound weird but I'm going to have dinner elsewhere tonight . Just don't worry okay."
His mothers voice sounded worried through the phone
,,Now I'm actually worried. But…alright. Just make sure to not come home too late okay."
,,Okay. Good night."
He hung up the phone and returned it to Saphina.
,,Can I help out?"
He wanted to at least help around if he was going to eat here today.
,,It's alright, you don't need to help. You can just relax at the living room until it's done, I want to surprise you."
She turned away and continued cooking something.
Zypher walked to the living room and sat down on the couch.
-How the hell am I supposed to relax?!! I'm in a strangers house, which just so happened to be a giant mansion and I'm sitting in their living room waiting for food that being made by my classmate.
The situation looked unreal no matter how he looked at it.
He was scared to break something expensive so he just sat there and waited.
A couple minutes later a man walked down the stairs. His immense aura made Zypher shiver.
He was tall, at least as tall as Zypher himself. He was very muscular no doubt , this was especially impressive since the man looked to be in his early fifties.
The man approached him and sat down right next to Zypher .
Zypher sat there frozen in place. He feared every move he made.
-I have to get myself together. I can't just sit here like a looser.
,,uhh Good evening sir. My name is Zyph-"
The man interrupted him
,,I know who you are. My daughter talks about you quite often. She told me that you would be staying for dinner tonight ."
,,Yes sir that's true"
-Wait she talks about me at home? Didn't expect that.
,,Don't call me sir. It makes me sound like an old man"
,,I'm deeply sorry …mister… but how am I supposed to call you."
,,You can call me Michael." Every word he said had a special power about it.
His words felt absolute.
,,You seem like a sturdy man Zypher. How about we play a little game. If you win I might give you a reward but if you loose you'll get a punishment. The same thing goes for me too. So what do you say boy."
His crimson eyes locked onto Zyphers deep blue eyes.
,,Do you accept?"
