Shadows Beyond the Walls
The academy slept peacefully, unaware of the danger slowly approaching from the north. Kael stood on the balcony outside his dorm room, staring into the darkness beyond the academy walls. The wind carried a strange feeling with it—an uneasy tension that made the hairs on his neck stand up.
Seraphine appeared beside him like a shadow emerging from the night.
"They're closer than I expected," she said quietly.
Kael crossed his arms. "Who exactly is coming?"
Seraphine hesitated for a moment before answering.
"A group known as the Void Hunters. They were created decades ago for one purpose—destroy anyone who possesses Abyss Magic."
Kael frowned slightly.
"So they hunted my father."
"Yes," Seraphine replied. "And now they're hunting you."
Kael looked toward the dark forest again.
For the first time since awakening his power, he felt something unfamiliar.
Anticipation.
If enemies were coming, he would meet them head-on.
