Bullet didn't quite know what he had to do or where he had to go as a kitten. He didn't know who were his parents, he didn't know if he even had parents. He just woke up in the middle of a field one night. He looked in all directions and saw light in the distance. "What that?" He asked himself. Barely tall enough to peak over the grass, he skipped through them for what felt like hours before finding a rock to climb on. From the rock, he saw what looked like stars, but they're all collected in a small area on the ground in the distance. He made his way towards the cluster of stars, as tiring as it was, he really didn't want to rest in a dark open field of tall grass. Who knows what else is out here?
When he eventually got closer to the cluster of stars, he realized that they weren't stars at all, they were lights on buildings, it was a city, or town. The outskirts were lined with shorter buildings, houses and stores that never went more than 3 stories high. He was tired, sleepy, and hungry. He made his way onto an empty sidewalk and smelled some food coming from a trash can, so he happily approached it until a larger cat came out of nowhere and smacked him to the side. "You're in my place!" The cat growled and approached him. Bullet was about to run away when a foot got between them.
"Eh! Big cat can't be bullying a kitten! Shoo!" A girl chased the attacking cat away. Bullet didn't know what to do, but he did recognize that this girl saved him, so he was grateful. She turned to him and squatted. "It's okay now. You look so thin!" She said, and poured some biscuits in front of him. He was overjoyed and munched them up like he's never eaten before, well, to be fair, he's never eaten before, not to his memory at least. The girl then pet him, and he purred. He wanted to ask what's her name, but after petting him a few times, she pulled her hand away. "Did you just talk?"
Bullet tilted his head in confusion. "No?" He said, but it only came out as meows.
The girl laid her hand on his head again. "Talk to me again." She asks.
"I can't talk!" He insists, but still it only came out as squeaky little meows.
The girl takes her hand away once more. "Say that again!"
"What you talking about?" Bullet meows, this time getting a bit annoyed.
She lay her hand on his head. "Yes you can! But only if I touch you."
"Huh? What you mean only when you touch me?" Every time he talks, he could only hear meows coming out of himself.
"I can hear you in my head when I touch you, you asked me my name earlier, it's Elise."
"You understand me?"
Elise nods. "You're not a normal kitten. What's your name?"
"Bullet."
"That's not a normal name."
...
Present day...
Elise was studying at her desk by the window of her bedroom when Bullet suddenly jumped through it, causing her to yelp in surprise. "Hey! What's up!" She greeted him with a giggle.
Bullet meowed with delight, and went right up to her, putting his head under her hand. "Elise, do you remember the guy I told you who saved me from drowning?"
"Zack? What about him? Is he listening to my food tips?"
Bullet nods. "Yes, but there's something more important. He is depressed because he doesn't have a mate. I think you'd be great for him!"
She quickly retracted her hand. "What the? Bullet! What kind of girl do you think I am? I barely know him! And what kind of guy gets depressed just because he doesn't have a girlfriend?"
Without Elise touching him, Bullet couldn't communicate, so he just looks sadly at her until she puts her hand on his head again. "You don't understand! It is partially my fault!" He then told Elise everything, how he had given Zack pheromones, how he acted while given the blessing, how he longed for true connection, and his encounter with some mean people at the singles market.
"It's not your fault Bullet, he was already like that even before he met you." Elise assures the cat.
"Yes, but he is also the kind of human that would jump into a river and get sick for a cat."
"You know what? Fine! I'll help him, not because I think this is a good idea, but because he saved your life. But I won't date him."
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"I have a friend, she's also looking for a boyfriend, but I'm worried about her because she keeps finding random guys on a dating app. If this Isaac guy is as good as you said. Then I won't have to worry about her anymore." She then takes out her phone and dialed a number, a few minutes later, a voice from the other side greeted her.
???: "Hey Elise, what's up?"
Elise: "Hey Ashley! I was wondering, wanna hang out this weekend?"
Ashley: "I don't know, I'm a bit busy this weekend."
Elise: "Ah, shame, what are you up to?"
Ashley: "...Meeting friends..."
Elise smiles knowingly at the brief pause before her answer. "I see I see, well whenever you wanna hang out, reach out, been awhile since we caught up."
Ashley: "Sure!"
Elise put down her phone, and Bullet hopped onto her lap. "That was your master plan?"
She shakes her head. "No, that was my safe plan, my master plan needs your help!"
...
Bullet has no idea why this Ashley girl had trouble finding a mate. For human standards, she was very attractive! Bright orange hair of medium length, matching eyes that seem to glow with her skin. Her cheeks and nose bridge ornament with freckles. An hourglass figure that obviously took a lot of exercise and a good diet to maintain, and a sense of fashion that would always turn heads. Elise showed him a series of pictures as well as details of her weekend plans. Apparently, they used to be classmates back in high school. But while Elise herself steered clear of boys, Ashley went on many dates, but struggled to find her forever after.
"There she is." Bullet perks, spotting her at the entrance of a mall. "Let's observe for now." Ashley was then approached by a guy, they exchanged waves and started talking. With his satellite-like cat ears, Bullet eaves dropped on their conversation.
"O mai gad! You're so short!" The guy said.
"Hey! 5 foot 4 isn't that short!" Ashley complained.
"Really? First thing you say to a girl is that?" Bullet thought to himself. Elise is 5 foot 2, she's shorter.
"Come on, let's go catch the movie!" The guy says, leading her into the mall.
Bullet followed the couple, which was a boring endeavour as all the guy talked about was drama in his workplace, which Ashley doesn't seem to be interested in. Nothing happened throughout the movie, and nothing really happened while they were sitting in the cafe together. Bullet kept track of the time, and when the clock struck 5, usually the time Zack comes to get the weeks groceries, he did something he has never done before. Usually, he would chase thieves. Today, he'd become one.
He meowed at the cafe table, and Ashley bent down to pet him. But when she did, he pounced onto the seat next to her, grabbed her purse, and ran away. "My purse!" She shouted, and ran after him. Her date also ran after him, and he was much quicker, but not nearly as quick as a cat! Bullet darted in between people, purposely going through crowded areas where the man struggled to keep up, heading towards the grocery store and spotting Zack there.
Meanwhile Zack, just minding his own business heard commotion approaching him and glanced to see... "Bullet?" He asked. Bullet stops right in front of him and they made eye contact. "Stop that cat!" The guy shouted. "My purse!" Followed by Ashley.
"Bullet! What the-" Bullet quickly sprinted away, and Zack also gives chase. Maybe that's just another cat that looks like Bullet. But whatever the case, he gotta get that purse back. Bullet was gonna let Isaac catch him, but he needs to do it convincingly and make him look rly good. But how would... While he was lost in thought, Isaac spotted a tower of cans ahead at the end of an isle, he grabbed something off the shelf and threw it to the tower, tumbling the cans and startling Bullet with the suddenly blocked exit. He then took off his jacket and jumped towards the cat, spreading his jacket like a net, catching Bullet off guard. "Holy shit!" Bullet thought to himself. "I underestimated Zack, looks like I don't have to make him look good after all!" He does a little acting to pretend he was struggling, but eventually gave the purse up. "You are Bullet!" He exclaims. "What was up with you man?"
"Woah! You caught a the cat!" Ashley says, walking down the isle.
"Yeah, I did, and I believe this is yours." Zack says, handing her purse back to her. He couldn't help but note how beautiful this girl is, but that other guy was most likely her boyfriend. Speak of the devil. The guy pushes Ashley aside and grabbed Zack by the collar. "You tried to steal my dates purse? Huh? You and your crafty cat!?"
"Ack! I...!" Zack couldn't breathe, he was physically much smaller than this guy.
"Jason stop!" Ashley pleads with him, and he let Zack go.
"You're fucking welcome." Zack said between coughs.
She pushed the guy away. "I'm not your girl! Nor would I ever be! Fuck off!" She scolds, took Zack's hand by his surprise, and stormed off. "Are you okay?"
"As okay as I can be after getting choked." He jokes, earning him a chuckle. "Who was that, that wasn't your boyfriend?"
"God no, I met him on a dating app and he was a terrible date."
Zack looks around for a bit, worried that someone might hear what he's about to say next. "After groceries, I'm free, I could take you out as a thanks for saving me from getting beat up!"
Ashley smirks. "Okie!"
...
Elise came back from her own grocery shopping when she saw Bullet chilling on her bed. She took off her jeans and threw herself next to him. "So, how'd it go?"
Bullet purrs. "It went great! They're on a date right now!"
"What? Date? Now? Wow that's quick!"
