Gerard Argent's hand fell abruptly.
"Begin the hunt," he commanded, his voice booming like a gunshot, cutting through the chaos.
A storm of silver bolts erupted from the tree line, streaking through the air with vicious speed.
TWANG! TWANG! TWANG!
Mechanized crossbows unleashed a deadly barrage, bolts slicing through the forest—shattering bark, splitting rocks, and tearing into the earth with brutal force.
"MOVE!" Derek roared.
The Hale pack scattered in frantic panic, dirt and debris flying as they dodged the deadly rain.
Silver bolts struck trees, splintering wood and sending shards flying.
One bolt found its mark—piercing a Beta's shoulder with a sickening crunch."ARGH!" the wolf howled, smoke curling from the wound as the toxin burned through his veins, his body trembling with agony.
Laura's eyes flashed crimson—feral and furious.
"YOU LITTLE—"
She blurred into motion, a streak of deadly speed.
Within seconds, she was in the thick of the enemy formation.
She slammed into a hunter shoulder-first—cracking bone and shattering cartilage.
CRACK!The hunter's ribs shattered like glass as she tore through his defenses, sending him flying backward into two others, their bodies crashing like ragdolls.
"DON'T LET THEM CLOSE THE DISTANCE!" a hunter screamed, desperation thick in his voice.
But it was too late.
The wolves had already reached them.
Derek launched himself into the chaos, leaping nearly fifteen feet into the air, claws flashing like deadly blades.
He tore into a group of hunters, ripping through flesh, bone, metal, and muscle.
Rifles splintered under his claws, bullets ricocheting uselessly.
A hunter swung a steel butt aimed for Derek's head.
Derek caught it mid-swing, snapping the weapon like brittle wood, then drove his elbow into the man's jaw—
cracking teeth and shattering bone.
The hunter collapsed, unconscious or dead.
Elsewhere, the Betas surged forward with savage ferocity.
They dodged and weaved through the chaos, claws raking, teeth tearing, smashing skulls, breaking bones.
Some hunters fired silver bullets—some hit, others missed—wolves weaving between trees with inhuman agility, snarls and screams filling the air.
The forest became a battlefield of blood, bone, and steel.
Arthur watched, his eyes narrowing as he took it all in.
His gaze flicked to Laura, who had already taken down three hunters—blood dripping from her claws.
Derek was tearing apart another group single-handedly.But there were too many.
The hunters had come prepared—deadly and relentless.
"Spread out!"
a hunter commander shouted, voice cracking with fear.
"Form defensive lines!"
Arthur sighed, then smirked darkly.
"Well… guess I'm joining the party."
Before anyone could stop him—He sprinted forward—not with werewolf speed, but with a terrifying human ferocity.
A hunter spotted him first."Human! Take him alive—"
Arthur closed the distance in seconds.
The hunter swung his rifle.
Arthur stepped inside the strike, fists clenched.
His fist drove into the man's stomach with brutal force—crushing ribs, folding him in half.
THUD.
Arthur grabbed the rifle mid-swing, spinning it like a deadly baton, then hurled it like a spear—
smashing into another hunter's chest, knocking him flat with a sickening crack.
Two more hunters charged him.Arthur moved with savage precision. One grabbed his shoulder—
Arthur twisted sharply, breaking the man's elbow with a loud snap.
CRACK.The hunter screamed as his arm bent in a way it shouldn't.
Arthur used the shattered limb as a shield to block a silver bolt—
metal piercing flesh and armor with a deadly thud.
He shoved the screaming man aside and closed in on the next.
Three rapid strikes—
jaw, throat, solar plexus. The hunter collapsed, gasping, blood pouring from his mouth.
Arthur exhaled slowly, a cold glint in his eyes."Honestly…"
He looked around at the carnage.
"…you guys are disappointing."
Derek froze for a split second, disbelief flickering across his face.
What the hell…
He had just watched Arthur dismantle three trained hunters faster than some Betas could blink.
Laura landed beside him, claws dripping with blood.
She blinked, stunned.
"…Okay."
She pointed at Arthur.
"I officially take back everything I said about you being arrogant."
Arthur raised an eyebrow.
"Oh?"
Laura grinned, sharp teeth gleaming.
"You're definitely arrogant."
Then she punched another hunter sneaking up behind Arthur.
BAM!
The man flew backward into a tree, limbs cracking painfully.
"But you might actually be able to back it up."
Arthur smirked, blood staining his knuckles.
Across the battlefield—
Gerard Argent observed everything through binoculars, his expression darkening.
"…That boy."
Kate leaned beside him.
"Oh?"
Gerard lowered the binoculars slowly.
"He's the one."
Kate smiled slowly, predator-like.
"The human?"
Gerard's voice turned cold.
"No.That one… is the real target."
Kate's smile widened, a predator finally spotting its prey.
"Then let's see what these new toys can do."
Back on the chaos-filled battlefield—
Arthur suddenly felt a strange warmth again, deeper this time.
Like something primal and fierce was awakening within him.
His heart pounded faster. His muscles tensed, ready to unleash chaos.
And for a fleeting moment—
A faint, glowing symbol flickered beneath the skin of his wrist.Gone before anyone could notice.
Arthur frowned, unsettled.
"…What the hell was that?"
Before he could dwell further—
A deafening metallic clang echoed through the forest.
CLANK.
Several hunters rolled out something massive from the trees—
a silver containment net launcher.
Huge enough to trap multiple wolves at once.
Arthur cracked his neck, a grim smile on his face.
"…Now that's new."
Then the launcher fired.
And the chaos erupted into even more brutal fury.
