I was an idiot.
But, the chance of Zach being alive was worth all the risk, I don't even know him that well, why did he even accompany me here?, Why did he trust me?, Why didn't he blame me?.
My thoughts spiral out of control as I walk with the guidance of the creature that killed Zach.
My legs, which were sturdy from the hope of reuniting with him collapsed after meters of walking in this endless plain.
"..." The creature stared at me, using Zach's head that had gotten paler from our long walk.
"I-i can't" I said, trying to move my legs but I could only tremble on the ground, my legs refused to listen anymore.
The creature stepped closer and I flinched in response.
"W-wait, rest, I just need a short rest!" I yelped, my eyes closed while instinctively shielding my head from a possible attack.
Moments passed and not feeling any pain, I slowly opened them.
The creature was hunched, its back in front of me.
"We don't have time bro, I'll carry you"
"N-no, I can still walk fine!" I said in a panic, attempting to stand up but ultimately collapsing to the ground.
"Get on" The creature turned its head back fully and said in a commanding tone.
With no other choice, I could only loop my hands on the creature's neck, its soft fur brushing against my skin, radiating heat.
The metallic fishy smell of blood clung strongly to my nose, distracting me as the creature looped its hoof on my legs lifting me.
"Use this" it said, still trying to act like Zach.
It let go of one of my legs before handing me Zach's phone, which was stuck between its hooves.

The creature walked following my guidance, as I read the navigation on Zach's phone.
His hand was looped on both my legs, needing me to be the one to use the phone.
My eyes winced, looking at the phone.
The strong smell of blood makes me want to gag, while looking at Zach's phone makes me want to let go of it immediately.
It was covered with blood, his red fingerprint stuck on the screen.
This creature, I want to kill it if possible, but I know I can't.
If someone as physically strong as Zach couldn't, what can I do?
'Just kill me already' I thought but like a coward, I followed its every command.
6:00 came, if nothing goes wrong we would have gone back by this time.
The silence was eerie while the thick clouds hid the moon enveloping the forest in pitch darkness.
"We're still lost" Zach mumbled before his head turned 180 degrees, looking straight at my soul.
"Why are we still lost!?" it yelled, in this husky inhumane voice.
Startled, I let go immediately flipping my vision, I struggled my legs off his hands, prying them open with my own, but it was no use, he was too strong.
I cursed
"I don't know!, Let me go!"
His arms let go, making me fall to the ground.
Thud
My back hit the leaves making me turn to the side grunting, rubbing the place that was hit.
"Leave..." It mumbled attracting my attention.
It was standing in front of me, looking down at me, blood pouring from its neck.
I grabbed Zach's phone tightly, the pain in my back going numb as I tried to stand up, but halfway through it shrieked.
"I want to leave!!" The creature raised one of its hoof, sending it down right at me.
"Stop!" I immediately rolled to the side, my entire body beginning to ache.
Its hoof slammed into the ground where I once stood creating a web of cracks.
"Let me leave!!" It screamed, the creature rushed to me, its lowered hoof drove to the side of my stomach before I could recover from the roll.
The phone slipped from my hands before I was sent flying, rolling in the leaves.
I stopped meters away, lying on my side, the soft leaves cushioning my fall.
Saliva dripped from my mouth, as I tried to breathe, lying sideways I could feel the pain radiating from my side.
"It hurts!" I yelped, tears escaped my eyes as I tried to raise my arm but it trembled from the weight of my body.
I could only grit my teeth, watching as the pair of red eyes behind the mask of Zach's face slowly got closer.
"Why?, why?, why?" Its husky voice travelled to where I lay.
"Move!!" I gritted my teeth, as I forced my body to stand, my arms trembled as it supports me to do a squat before losing strength.
Thud
I fall to my butt, gasping for air, eyes full of despair.
It was too late now.
It was in front of me, its tall figure looking at me, its head tilted sideways as if assessing a plaything.
"Why would you trap me here?" It questioned leaning close. It's warm breath parting my hair.
My body trembled from fear.
"I-i didn't do anything" I said trying to use my hands to crawl backwards but the fear immobilized me.
"Lies!!" It screamed
I don't know what hit me, but I was sent flying for the second time, my body rolled on the ground before something soft broke my fall.
My stomach radiated intense pain as I held it.
The pain vanished the moment the strong stench hit my nose and my hands that were on the ground felt something soft and cold.
"It can't be" I muttered, quickly pulling out my phone in my pocket, the glow from my phone lit up the darkness making my stomach churn.
I found Zach.
"Blergh" I threw up on the spot, letting go of the phone almost immediately.
"It was your fault" The creature said, standing in front of me.
"I was lost and hungry" It pointed to Zach's mutilated corpse before answering "Then I found him"
"No, it's not my fault" I answered, holding my stomach. Saliva dripping from my chin.
It tilted its head before its mouth opened large enough to engulf my head, inside I could see its razor-sharp teeth and the bits of meat clinging to it.
"Hungry again" It said before everything went black.
