Ashes of the Silent War: Shadow of the Leviathans

Chapter 14 – Colossus Down

The skyline of Eryndor glowed red with fire as debris rained from collapsing buildings. Smoke twisted into black pillars, obscuring the sun. Amid the chaos, humanity clung to hope.

Kael Varden gritted his teeth atop a shattered skyscraper. Behemoth still lumbered before him, wounded but dangerous. Colossus loomed on the horizon, swaying slightly as its energy core struggled to compensate for Lyra's attack.

Lyra's voice came over the comm, calm but tense. "Kael… I've destabilized the core. You have about thirty seconds before it overloads. Everything on that energy matrix is about to fry."

Kael's plasma blade glowed fiercely as he nodded. "Then we finish this—now."

Lyra's Daring Strike

From a distant rooftop, Lyra adjusted her aim. She fired a second, ultra-charged plasma round directly at Colossus' exposed energy conduit. The projectile hit dead center.

Blue-white energy cascaded violently through the Titan. Sparks and arcs of electricity shot across its massive armor. Colossus staggered, each step cracking streets and shattering buildings, but its systems were destabilizing fast.

"Get ready, Kael," Lyra shouted. "It's about to go critical!"

The Titan let out a deafening roar as a pulse of energy erupted from its core, temporarily knocking out nearby systems. Thousands of civilians fled in terror, and Leviathan Hunters cheered across the front lines.

Colossus fell to one knee, smoke and sparks pouring from its chest, its once-unstoppable march finally halted.

Behemoth Falls

Meanwhile, Kael closed the distance to Behemoth. The titan roared in fury, swinging its massive claw at him. Kael leapt, narrowly avoiding the strike, and landed on the creature's armored shoulder.

He struck at the fractures along the spine and chest with his Leviathan blade. Energy sparks showered from the wounds. Behemoth thrashed violently, sending Kael tumbling into rubble—but Kael rolled, rose, and charged again.

"Your fight ends here," Kael muttered.

With a mighty swing, he drove his blade deep into Behemoth's chest core fracture. The titan bellowed in agony, thrashing violently before collapsing onto its side with a thunderous crash that shook the city.

For a fleeting moment, silence filled the streets. Humanity had finally felled Behemoth.

Predator Delta Ambush

Across Virelia, the quadrupedal Abyss Titan, Predator Delta, moved like a predator on the hunt. But the Leviathan Hunters had not given up.

A team of elite Hunters set a trap in a ruined industrial district, using collapsing towers and concentrated fire to slow the creature. Predator Delta roared, slashing and leaping, but the combined firepower forced it into a defensive pattern.

Seren Vale led the strike from above, firing plasma lances into its joints. "Hold it! Don't let it escape!"

The creature faltered under the assault, giving humanity a narrow but vital window to evacuate civilians from the surrounding zones.

Adrian Voss' Plan Unravels

In the Architect fortress, Adrian Voss watched Colossus collapse on his monitors. His calm demeanor faltered slightly as Behemoth's death and Colossus' destabilization disrupted the coordinated energy network feeding his Titans.

He clenched his fists. "Impossible… they survived… they adapted…"

But Voss' lips curled into a dangerous smile. "No matter. One final move, and this war ends—on my terms."

He activated a hidden command deep within the global Architect grid. Massive Leviathan reserves and Titan reinforcements began to awaken across the continents. But Voss had underestimated one factor: humanity's capacity to adapt and fight back in desperation.

The Stage for the Final Showdown

Kael stood atop Behemoth's fallen body, surveying the battlefield. Fires burned across the horizon, Titans staggered or fallen, Predator Delta was pinned, and Colossus lay disabled—but Adrian Voss still commanded unseen forces, and his final surprise would soon be unleashed.

Lyra activated her drone network, scanning the horizon. "Kael… this isn't over. Voss has one last move. Whatever it is, it's going to be catastrophic."

Kael tightened his plasma blade. His exosuit glowed, sensors scanning every remaining Titan and approaching threat.

"Then we finish this," Kael muttered. "One last battle. One final chance to stop Adrian Voss and the Architects… before humanity is wiped out."

Across the continents, humanity held its breath. The final showdown between Kael and Voss—and the fate of the world—was about to begin.
