Chapter 13 - Ch.13 Battle Ends

Raymond looked at the tree with vigilance, although Nexus couldn't hide from his senses, he was still difficult for him to detect.

His nose twitched as he pounced on a tree; his claw fell as a massive wound was carved on the tree. A tail came like a whip from the side, hitting him on the face.

A shallow cut was formed as more poison entered his system. Without a second thought, he opened his mouth and fired a wind burst.

A sizable crater was formed on the tree, but Nexus was nowhere to be seen. He turned his attention to another tree as he jumped on it.

Their battle began to shift as Nexus ran as he changed. He managed to bite off his tail, but various whip marks sizzling with poison appeared on his body.

Nexus wasn't in good condition either; he had two large wounds in his chest, a chunk of flesh missing from his back, and the upper half of his tail was ripped out.

"The battle ends."

Raymond said as he looked at Nexus from a distance, although the damage done by Nexus wasn't much, the damage done by his poison chipped away forty percent of his health.

"You can stay in this region."

He spoke as he glanced at Nexus, who was still looking at him with vigilance. He felt that he had created another enemy for himself, as well as a leader; naturally, he would offend many people.

Nexus looked at Raymond with a questioning gaze, after all the battle had already come to this point. He had already made Nexus an enemy, so why wasn't he trying to finish him off?

"Confused why I didn't go for the kill."

Raymond said as he saw the confusion in Nexus's eyes, he let out a chuckle as he glanced at his wounds.

"Not worth it. If I kill you, I will make other non-alliance top rankers fear me. They may gang up on me, so it's not worth it."

"I was never going to go for a kill anyway."

Raymond spoke, though Nexus felt that he spoke with a mixture of truth and falsehood. Still, he was happy to have survived this ordeal.

"Take this potion as a gesture of apology."

He spoke as a clear potion appeared in front of him, giving him one last glance, Raymond kicked the branch he was standing on and disappeared into the distance.

Nexus continued to stay vigilant for a while, after sensing no danger, he put the potion in his inventory and dipped. He recognized the potion as he had also gotten one from that treasure chest he got for killing that noble.

He checked the information in his inventory to see if it had been tampered with or not.

The effect was the same; looking at his stats, he found out that he lost about one hundred ninety points of health. Plus, the death element remaining in his body, even when suppressed, is chipping away one point of health per hour.

He felt happy he had survived, but was also angry for the fact that he survived due to his opponent's charity and not his strength.

Far in the distance, Raymond looked at the place where the battle had happened. He was currently on top of a tree branch, using the death element to destroy the poison element remaining on his body.

Of his twelve hundred points of health, he only had five hundred remaining now. This was also the region where he ended the battle.

Although killing a new ranking member would have created a backlash, he could have still handled it.

He only let him live as if he had continued to fight, although he would have killed the lizard, he would have been critically injured.

He wondered what kind of skills the lizard had. After all, he had three excellent grade skills, but they couldn't do so much damage.

"He must have gotten an opportunity that increased his energy levels and a strong, excellent rank poison skill, probably that poison arrow."

He muttered to himself as he chugged a bottle of health potion. Even as an alliance leader, he only had ten of these. However, he had fifty or so H-grade potions.

After all, adventurers visit the forest daily, numbering in the hundreds. Just killing a few softly can bag you a three or four H grade healing potion.

"Well, hope he doesn't come for revenge."

He muttered with a calm voice; he wasn't worried that he was going to lose. As one of the first green bloodline monsters and an Alliance leader, he had his confidence.

There was no way that an opponent defeated by him would ever rise enough to challenge him.

Far above in the sky, outside the knowledge of two, an eagle had watched their battle from start to finish.

She was Silvia, the leader of the information organization that covers the entire winding forest and an Initial Elite Rank beast.

She hadn't gone through an evolution, so she had reached her upper limit. Even as a white bloodline beast, she was ranked fourth in the Eastern Winding Forest.

"Nexus, a valuable client."

She muttered to herself, and she also gazed at the Burial Tiger, noticing his prideful demeanor. She understood that it may lead to his downfall.

"Well, it doesn't matter. I only collect information and nothing else."

She muttered softly as she flapped her wings, disappearing into the distance. She was going to her nest.

On the base of the mountain, the Night Tiger was also watching the battle between Nexus and Raymond with a smile.

"A perfect whetstone for you, Little Tiger. Though he may die by the lizard's hand."

He muttered to himself, as a tiger, he wishes for the Burial Tigers' victory, but even if the Lizard kills him, he won't interfere. After all, what his king needs are strong generals and not carefully raised flowers.
