Chapter 2 - A Lunch With a Killer

Vijay was still thinking when suddenly his phone started ringing. The sound startled him. When he looked at the screen, it was a call from an unknown number.

Vijay answered the phone with a trembling voice.

"Hello… who is this?"

"Why? Didn't you recognize me?"

The moment Vijay heard the voice, the phone slipped from his hands. He immediately jumped up from the sofa, rushed outside, took his car, and drove straight to Vishal's police station.

Vishal is a police officer and one of Vijay's five closest friends.

A constable knocked on the door of Vishal's cabin.

"May I come in, sir?"

"Yes."

"Sir, your friend has come to meet you."

"Who?"

"Sir, he said his name is Vijay."

"Oh, this Vijay… Why did he have to come all the way to the police station just to say sorry?"

"Sir, he looked very worried… extremely nervous."

"What?"

"Yes, sir."

"Alright, send him in."

"Jai Hind, sir."

The constable went outside and said to Vijay,

"Sir, Vishal sir has called you inside his cabin."

Vijay went inside and said nervously,

"Vishal… he is alive."

"Who is alive? What are you talking about?"

"The same one… whom all of us together, three years ago…"

"Stop! What nonsense are you talking about?!"

"I'm not talking nonsense."

Taking out the note from his pocket, Vijay said,

"Look at this. See what's written in it. Then you'll understand what I'm talking about."

Vishal opened the note.

"What is this? There's nothing written here."

"What?! Look carefully. Here, you read it and tell me what's written."

Vijay opened the note again… but there was nothing written on it.

"How is that possible? It had…"

"You don't believe me, right? Then take my phone. He called me on it. The call recording is saved here. Listen to it."

Vishal took the phone and checked the call history. But he couldn't find any recording.

"What call recording? There's nothing here."

"How is that possible?"

"I was just listening to that recording outside the station."

Vishal sighed.

"Vijay, I know all of us friends got a little too angry with you. But that doesn't mean you take revenge on us like this."

"Look, what happened three years ago is in the past. Those two orphans are dead. Don't dig up those old matters again… because even walls have ears."

"What if we get trapped again in the same net that we somehow escaped from?"

"Now go. I forgive you. Go and apologize to the others as well. They will forgive you too."

Vijay said nothing. Thinking about those two friends, he quietly returned home.

After reaching home, he lay down on his bed to rest. Just then, suddenly, his phone rang again. The screen showed an unknown call.

"Could it be him again?"

Nervously, Vijay answered the call.

But this time, it was his friend Vikas.

Only then did Vijay feel relieved.

"I'm sorry, yaar. But no one owns my heart now. I know all of you are very angry with me, but I sincerely apologize to all of you."

Vikas replied,

"If you want forgiveness, then first introduce us to the one for whom your heart is spinning like a wheel."

"Alright. Tomorrow afternoon I'll invite her to my house for lunch so you can all meet her."

"Okay."

The next day at 2 PM, all of Vijay's friends arrived at his house. They talked for a while, joked with each other, and laughed a lot.

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Vijay's servant opened the door. Alka was standing outside.

"Please come in, ma'am. Sir has been waiting for you."

"Oh."

Alka walked to Vijay and said,

"Sorry Vijay, I'm a little late."

"It's okay."

"Come, sit. Meet them. These are my best friends. And guys… this is my Alka."

The moment Vishal saw Alka, he was shocked. He quietly gestured to Vijay to come to the corner.

Vijay understood the signal and followed him into another room.

"What happened, Vishal? Why did you call me here? What will Alka think?"

"Out of all the girls in the world… was she the only one you could fall in love with?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean… do you even know who this girl really is?"

"Yes. Her name is Alka. She's a story writer. She has no one in this world except me."

"You fool. She's not a writer. She's a professional killer. She has murdered 80 people so far. She's one of the most wanted criminals in our police department."

"Are you crazy? She wouldn't even kill a fly. And you think she could murder a human?"

"Did you actually pass your exams before joining the police?"

"You don't believe me, right?"

"No."

"Fine. Then come with me to the police station. I'll show you her criminal records… with proof."

"Look, right now no one is going anywhere. I invited her here for lunch. Whatever you want to show or say, we'll talk about it later. Okay?"

"Now come."

They returned to the table and sat down for lunch. Vishal kept staring at Alka suspiciously.

Suddenly, Alka slowly lifted her head… winked at Vikas… and gave him a strange, creepy smile.
