After hugging Alka, Vijay feels a little comforted. He tells her everything that happened.
"Vijay," Alka says,
"You've been driving continuously for two days. Your mind is tired. And look at this place—it's so old. You saw it and your mind started imagining things."
"Whatever you saw and heard last night was just your imagination, nothing else. Relax. I'll go and complete the checkout process."
"Okay."
Alka goes downstairs and hands a thick bundle of money to the staff. Then she comes back to Vijay.
"Vijay, let's have breakfast and leave. We should continue our journey."
Although Vijay had somewhat calmed down, the sound of those chants was still echoing in his mind.
Around 8 AM, they leave the hotel.
When they sit in the car to continue towards Mussoorie, the tire looks slightly worn out. Still, they ignore it and move ahead.
As they drive further, they see a deserted village. There, some people are trying to burn a man alive.
Vijay goes closer to see what's happening… and is shocked.
The man they are about to burn looks exactly like him.
The man screams and begs them not to burn him, but the villagers don't listen. They burn him alive and throw his body into a river.
Terrified, Vijay runs back to Alka and tells her everything.
But Alka says,
"Vijay, what are you talking about? This village has been abandoned for years. What people? I don't see anyone anywhere."
Vijay is shocked.
"Alka, they were burning that man alive! And you're saying there's no one here? Look there!"
"Where, Vijay?"
"What?! They were just there… where did they go so quickly?!"
As Vijay points toward them, they suddenly disappear.
Alka sees nothing.
"Don't you believe me?" Vijay says.
"Come with me. I'll show you the burnt body in the river—the man who looked exactly like me."
Vijay tightly holds Alka's hand and takes her to the river.
But…
"Where is the body?" Alka says.
"Forget the man—there's no river here at all."
"This… this can't be possible."
"Alka, I swear that river was right here. They burned him and threw him into it."
"Then tell me—how did the river disappear so suddenly?"
"I… I don't know."
Vijay holds his head and breaks down crying.
Seeing his condition, Alka sits beside him, places his head on her shoulder, and gently strokes his hair.
"Vijay, I don't know what you saw or why… but I trust you. And I love you very much. I can't see you like this."
"If you're seeing all this, there must be a reason. I think we should visit a good doctor first. Before things get worse, it's better to get treatment. Do you understand?"
"…Yes."
"Alka, can I ask you something?"
"Yes, ask."
"Will you always stay with me like this?"
"Yes. I will stay with you… until your death. For your whole life."
Hearing this, Vijay feels very happy.
Slowly lifting his head from her shoulder, he asks,
"Will you marry me?"
"No."
"But why? Don't you love me?"
"I do. That's why I'm saying no."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, whoever marries me… I'll turn their life into hell. I'll make them fulfill all my wishes but never listen to theirs."
"But if I marry you, I won't be able to trouble you… or take advantage of you. And I can't bear even a little pain coming to you because of me. That's why I won't marry you."
"That's not a big deal. I'm telling you myself—trouble me as much as you want. Take as much advantage as you want. I won't mind."
"With you, my life won't be hell… it will be more beautiful than heaven."
"Really? Before marriage, every lover says this. But once they get married… the one they called their life becomes their biggest mistake."
"That won't happen with us."
"I don't believe that."
Saying this, Alka stands up and walks to the car, sitting inside.
Vijay follows her and sits in the driver's seat.
But when he tries to start the car… it doesn't start.
"What happened?"
"Why isn't the car starting?"
"Put the key in first."
"Oh… right."
"But… where is the key?"
